Attractive decor, comfortable and very clean. Beautiful wood floors. Very charming. Good location, convenient to historic sites. Bathroom tight but functional. Bathroom door knob could use some work. Tries to trap you! Appreciated access to washer/dryer to do laundry. Kitchen has good appliances.
The side of the duplex we rented was perfect. It’s in a great neighborhood convenient to everything we wanted to do in Vicksburg. Would stay there again if returning to the area.

Sweet little place
This is a sweet little house in a good neighborhood close to everything we wanted to do in Fredericksburg. It was clean and well-maintained. Would stay there again if returning to the area.
The place was clean and charming. Felt safe in the neighborhood. The beds and couches were comfy. Very easy communication with host. We all agreed we would book again for our next trip to Vicksburg!

Delightful Experience
An adorable duplex with a gracious hostess. If you're looking for authentic Vicksburg, you'll find it here. High, airy ceilings, original hardwood floors, and air conditioning that keeps you cool in the Vicksburg heat, this is where you'll find it. We loved our stay at The Julia Mary and can't wait to come back next year.

DISAPPOINTED AND DIRTY
We have stayed in many Vrbos, and loved them. I always read the reviews first, and this stay was overrated and overpriced. The neighborhood a few streets down was sketchy and the apt was not “bright” as advertised. It was dark and gloomy. Walking in, you get a musty, unpleasant smell. The hot water did not work, the toilet clogged, the kitchen chair had a broken leg, lights were missing bulbs or not working, found clump of hair in the tub, dryer lint catcher was disgusting! Kept finding little things that should be attended to for an enjoyable stay. Furniture was old and nothing felt clean. We went without a shower the first night and the hot water heater could not be fixed, so the owner moved us to the larger unit next door. She was responsive and pleasant, but I have to say we were very disappointed. This place needs a major refresh and better cleaning service. Would not stay here again or recommend. This is the first negative review I have ever written. We have had beautiful places with Premier Hosts.

Wonderful!
We stayed in this cute, vintage duplex for a week. It was absolutely fabulous and just perfect for our family. It is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood with quaint, brick streets and big, old homes. It is close to all the sights in Vicksburg. We enjoyed our stay here very much and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Vicksburg.
Great location, close to anything you'd want to visit. Easy check-in process. Clean and well maintained. Got a text from the manager the first day with all information needed: Contact info, instructions, wifi, grocery locations, etc. Had an incredible week, would recomend to anyone.

Wrong property for this site
This property have great potential, just need new owners with a vision. This property wasn't made ready for rental. I don't think they know what's required. I don't think I'm asking for to much. When you rent a property, you shouldn't have to spray the entire unit, cover all the furniture with bed sheets, and make sure you don't step barefoot any where.

Hi Rod, we are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your time at this house, and we were surprised by your feedback as we did not hear from you at all during or after your stay. The homeowners were not notified of any concerns either, though they would have been happy to address any issues right away. They do all they can to provide a wonderful experience for all guests and encourage future travelers to reach out immediately should they need anything!
I have a very mixed review-Communication with manager was great! She was very helpful & very quick with her responses. The Julia Mary was a beautiful home & perfect size for the 4 adults we had staying. The location of the property from downtown was great, but I do have to say the neighborhood is not great. During our first night there we heard very close gun shots being fired.
The only other negative thing I have to say is i feel like they need a de-humidifier. Now it is July in Mississippi but everything felt damp. The bedding felt damp, the furniture felt damp, we had a bag of chips that was left open for 4 hours and they got stale.
I really don’t mean this to be a negative review, hearing gunshots may not be a big deal for people from a city, we just aren’t used to that. And a de-humidifier could be added very easily.

Hi Leigh, thanks for letting us know about your stay. After going over your feedback, the homeowner wanted to address the items that you mention: "Hi Leigh! Thanks for your review. This neighborhood is one of the loveliest in town! I am sorry about your experience of what you heard in the night, as you may hear in any city in America. This is not a rural property. It is close to downtown and nightlife. As far as the dampness goes, I can say this has been one hot summer in Mississippi!! I will definitely look into this!"
Cute, clean, convenient place to stay. The property manager was very responsive and great to work with. The only downside was that the adjacent half of the property, when booked, was easily heard through the connecting door.
All in all, though, our stay was great and we would book again. :)

Easy location, plenty of space!
This was a good spot for our travels - centrally located for the downtown wedding that we attended. The space is large; it was great for 2 adults and a toddler - we even got to play in the side yard for a bit in the afternoon. Angela is a lovely and very friendly host - she communicated everything well prior to and throughout our stay.
This seems to be a newly available spot - in the future, some slight improvements might include amenities like towels (ours were new and unwashed with tags on them. For the three of us, there were exactly 3 thin towels), and some attention to details (the drapes are old and stained). When someone is staying in the 2nd unit, it does get a bit noisy as well. Even with those few details, I'd happily stay at the Julia Mary again!
