Had a great stay at this wonderful waterfront home in Chesapeake Bay. We traveled here for a wedding and the home couldn’t have been more perfect. Cheryl, the owner, was easy to communicate with. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer!
This home is very nicely appointed and features lots of different living spaces for flexible uses. Home/office, yoga space ... but the best feature is the wall of window view of the Bay and the deck just outside where the waves lapping right below can be hypnotic. Great kitchen and outdoor grill, too.
The view was amazing and relaxing. The house is spacious with everything you need. The neighborhood is quiet and private. We enjoyed riding our bike to the local beach and pier. Annapolis is a short drive away. Grocery store is even closer. Cheryl responded all questions and concerns quickly.
We loved the huge open living area and kitchen with six sliding glass doors right up against the Bay, with the Bay Bridge to the north and ships traveling up and down the Bay. Nice bedrooms and baths with more living space on second floor and beautiful hardwood floors.
Cheryl is a gracious host and the house has amazing views! The neighborhood is very welcoming- lots of people out walking their dogs each morning, making it a very comfortable place to enjoy! We enjoyed our time and highly recommend!
This was a great property with outstanding view of the Bay. We had a great time. Cheryl, the property owner is an absolute delight! Highly recommend this property. :)
We had a wonderful visit. The home is beautiful. We loved sitting on the porch and looking out at the water and the boats. We will probabaly stay here again in the futue.
My husband and I enjoyed three wonderful nights at Arundel on the Bay . Beautiful home in a wonderful location . Our property manger Cheryl was terrific . We look forward to returning to Annapolis and staying again .
We sat for hours just watching the bay and the wildlife (beautiful birds and a family of deer who came to visit everyday). Tranquil setting in a quaint beachy neighborhood, but also convenient to stores and all Annapolis sights. House has every amenity that you will need. Host Cheryl was available but not at all intrusive. Highly recommend.
The home was exactly as listed and far exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect for our needs. The property is well cared for and the host was very helpful. We all loved our stay and would try and book again if we are in the area.
Great property and great communication with Cheryl., The house was beautiful with a stunning view as described. Cheryl was wonderful to work with and very easy to reach, if needed. Be sure and rent this property -- you won't be disappointed.
The house was clean and nicely furnished. But the absolute best part of the house for us was the spectacular water view Cheryl was very hospitable and she responded promptly to any questions we had. We especially appreciated all of the nice touches that are so often missing from rentals we've stayed at, like tissue boxes, paper towel, dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent, handsoap in every bathroom etc. I came prepared with a bag we didn't have to use! We loved walking around the neighborhood and it was only a 10 minute drive to stores/restaurants. We had a really wonderful time and definitely hope to come back.
Everything about our stay and this property exceeded my expectations. To start, the tranquilizing views of the water from the home are incredible. We didn't want to leave the property and venture out into Annapolis because it was such a special experience just taking in the breathtaking views morning through night.
The property was very clean inside and out and we felt perfectly safe (from a sanitation perspective). The neighborhood is lovely and peaceful. Everyone says hello and there are many areas to walk and explore, including a cute park with beach access within minutes from the home on foot.
The owner was very helpful and super responsive leading up to the check-in process and during the stay. All aspects of the process went smoothly and I appreciated the initial check-in tour.
We enjoyed the game room that boasts an old-school video console and spent a lot of time trying to beat the high scores. Gen-Xers will love all of the classics!
We also brought a blow-up kayak and had a great time paddling around taking in views from the water onto land. We launched right from the dock outside the house.
The home has a lovely open floor plan in the kitchen/living area with incredible floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water as mentioned above but also has private bedrooms with lots of bathrooms. It is overall a spacious design offering all of the amenities you'd expect from a 5-star home.
We cannot wait to revisit this property and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape during a stressful time. For the first time in months, I felt a sense of calm and joy as a result of staying in this wonderful home!
A beautiful and comfortable home in a nicequiet neighborhood with a lovely view.
We really appreciated the extra space and quiet office on the second floor so some of us could work while others could play.
The hosts were gracious and helpful.
Although advertised as contactless check in the owner insisted on meeting me at the property, which made the arrival inconvenient. Upon receiving the keys I was informed the ice machine was not working. Since my family and I were in Annapolis for a lacrosse tournament and it was close to 100 degrees each day this was a problem . Later I received a text from the owner stating the dishwasher had broken two weeks earlier so we had to spend several hours a day washing the mismatched plates and glasses at the home. Had she informed me ahead of time I could have booked another home.
The house was infested with ants, the carpets were dank and stained. The bathrooms were small and although advertised as full baths did not have bath tubs. The furniture was mismatched and old and the beds were small with hard mattresses. There was a decent TV downstairs and a tiny TV in the master bedroom. The TV on the second floor could not be used because the power cord was missing. But don’t expect to watch TV anyway because you can’t even get ESPN.
The lone bright spot was that the views of the Bay were quite nice and the entire back the of the house was glass.
While the stay itself was subpar after check out was horrific. I was shocked to receive a message stating that only a small portion of the security deposit was being refunded. The owner claimed a window was cracked, a Bathroom towel rod was damaged and an extra cleaning fee was being charged. I informed her that no windows were even touched during our stay but that the towel rod had fallen one night. Interestingly there was a hurricane the day we checked out yet the owner claimed the damage was our fault. I asked for documentation of the damages but she refused to provide any. It is illegal to charge a fee for a service animal, and we purchased the required insurance for damages, but regardless she deemed it appropriate to charge us a ridiculous amount for these three items. She has also failed to provide any documentation of these damages to VRBO.
If you are in the market for an overpriced, bug infested, poorly maintained cabin with a nice view this is the place for you. Budget losing the security deposit though since the owner will try to steal it from you.
The views from the house are amazing. The all glass doors facing the bay made for such a relaxing setting. It makes you want to buy a boat! The house is deceptively expansive. There’s a lot of space to feel comfortable social distancing. This is a great house and I can’t wait to book it again!

About the host
Hosted by Cheryl Burgess
We have enjoyed living in Arundel on the Bay for the past 25 years and we are involved with the sponsorship of midshipmen at the Naval Academy.
Why they chose this property
Quaint waterfront community. My cozy house was purchased for my father's retirement. Unfortunately, he passed away from cancer before getting a chance to live in the house. For sentimental reasons, I keep the house in his memory.
What makes this property unique
Spectacular views from the entire length of the house. There are beautiful sunrises, ospreys and eagles in the summer and gorgoeus swan in the winter. Just as beautiful in the winter as in the summer months.
