Thank you for your comments. We do not provide WiFi as our intent is to provide a "Getaway" for our guests from the routine and rigor of everyday life and to allow them relax and recharge. This information is provided within the description of our property on our VRBO reservation page. If this feature was desired another property should have been selected.
The cabin was beautiful, clean, well-equipped and incredibly comfortable! The land and area were also very nice, and we enjoyed our time by going for walks, playing games, sitting by the fire and kayaking/floating in the calm & peaceful lake. The owner explains in the listing that there is no Wi-Fi, which is true, and there is also very little cell phone signal. This wasn’t a problem for us, but it’s good to know that you may want to print directions for getting into and out of the area because we didn’t pick up a strong signal until we were about 20 minutes away. Overall we had a wonderful stay!
The place was beautiful, very clean. Just wish the yard would have been a bit cleaned up more, lots of long grass and over grown trees by the dock . Other than that we had a great stay!

Lakeshore trees are regulated by the DNR and are helping prevent shoreline erosion. The long grass is part of a wildflower area we are trying to cultivate along the hillside/shoreline.
We are glad you had a great stay.
We had an amazing time at this lake house! We kayaked on the lake (owner was kind enough to let us use their equipment), swam, had a campfire, and enjoyed watching movies and playing games inside. Thank you again! I love that there are two bathrooms as well!
Our second time staying at this location! Lovely, very well appointed. Everything you need. Games and kayaks are so nice to offer. Beds are comfortable. We will be back.
The cabin is clean and in great shape. The owners are easy to deal with and respond to questions quickly. The view from the kitchen/living room is amazing. We had a lot of fun fishing and riding the canoe. The kids loved playing and swimming at the nearby beach. We can't wait to go back next summer.
Overall pretty happy with our stay. Great view, very clean cabin in a great location. The only bad thing i would have to say is the cabin did not have as many beds as i thought it did. My two friends slept on a chair and couch. Other than that we had a great time and would do it again.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay.
The number of beds (4 - 3 full/1queen) and the number of bedrooms (2) for a total (max.) guest quantity of 8 are described in the VRBO listing. While anyone is welcome our property is well suited for families.
Great cabin on Rock Dam Lake set in a quiet little bay. Super comfy beds, tons of seating and space in doors, nice little fire pit, and 2 bathrooms (we were really excited about this)!! Very clean dock and a little sand beach area. Games, DVDs, and a smart TV in case it rains.
Ernie & Deb do a great job of keeping the property clean and ready to go. We really appreciated the time away!
This cabin was a real pleasure. The setting was lovely and quiet. Our family of five adults had plenty of room. The whole place was spotless and comfortable inside and out. We had plenty to keep us entertained. The hosts were generous with supplies provided and gracious with allowing access to canoes/kayaks. We'd be delighted to visit again. Thank you!
We love it here. This is our second time staying at this cabin. My young adult kids love it and love being unplugged. In the woods, on the lake, fishing, ATVing, playing games. EnJOYing all that nature has to offer. The place is beautiful, cozy, warm and inviting.
Our family enjoyed all the activities provided at this property. We originally went for the four wheeling trails but one of four wheelers broke on day 2. No wifi or phone reception the kids actually didn’t complain with all the boards games provided and dvds. We went kayaking for the first time and this will definitely become a new family activity. The neighbors and their dogs were very friendly. We will definitely cherish the memories made here Thank you!!!
Pictures do not do the cabin justice! We loved the kitchen island and when in doors spent most of our time there. Our stay was during the week, so the lake was quiet and peaceful. It was getting quite busy by the time we left on Saturday (4th of July weekend), but this gave us a chance to meet the neighbors, and everyone was most pleasant.
After reading some of the other reviews I will add our thoughts: 1) the MINIMAL cleaning that is requested is simply picking up after yourself...something we all should do anyway. 2) the cleaning fee...please consider this cost may be to help cover the cost of all the "little items" that are provided...toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, propane, etc.
Ernie was most responsive any time we needed to reach out and the cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed. When they say all that is needed is your food and clothing they are not kidding.
We have nothing but wonderful things to say about our entire experience and are already thinking of a winter get-a-way at the cabin!
We have found the entire property, the house, the shed and the outdoor amenities to be well cared for, one might say immaculate and functioning as one typically hopes for. We were happy to have rented it. 4 adults and 4 children fit in very well, the kitchen was very useful for us as our young ones are only 4, 7, 9 and 11 years old and seem to have been always hungry to no surprise to us considering the swimming and kayaking. We knew that the property has no wi-fi and were prepared for it, although I will admit, that Verizon carrier was the best for communications with the world outside.
The only minus we found was with one of the full size beds in the 1st bedroom where the bed frame is possibly loose and needs to be looked into. It was of minimal consequence to our liking this cabin a lot. The owners of the cabin, Ernie and Debbie, are very pleasant to deal with. It is clear to me that they love this property very much. I would like it too.😀
I booked this house with a friend so we could visit with another friend nearby. The house was very clean and had plenty of room for the two of us. Sitting out in the back while watching the sun set on the lake was beautiful! Our stay was during the late fall and there are plenty of games to play and movies to watch during inclement weather.
The was only one downside, but it was pretty huge. Upon turning on the faucet, we discovered that the water had a strong odor. After letting it run for a bit, the odor was somewhat diminished. However, if you even placed your hand in it for a second, your skin would have this horrible, overpowering rust smell. It was absolutely awful ! There is a sign on the refrigerator door saying the water/ice lines are not connected, so there was zero water available to drink. We used our bottled water to brush our teeth or make coffee and left the house to do any laundry or shower. If I hadn’t had my friend’s house available nearby, I don’t know what we would’ve done. I’ve been using well water pretty much my whole life and have never experienced anything like this…

First, I’d like to apologize for your negative experience. Second, I would like to remind you of something that would have helped make your experience a better.
I provide my telephone number in an email prior to every guest stay, including yours. I note that this is for answering questions and addressing any concerns that may arise. If you would have called me and let me know your concern, I could have addressed it.
If you would have called, I would have suggested that you run the hot and cold water for 10 minutes (“not just a little bit”) and the issue would have gone away. No one is there full time to run the water daily, and if the water has not run for a couple of weeks it can smell like iron until the water is run for a while and is replaced with fresh water.
There is a naturally occurring, high iron content in the underground water system. This well is like many of the other wells at other properties along the lake and is likely fed by the same aquifer.
The well/water is tested annually by the county health department and is safe.
Also, there is a carbon prefilter and an iron filter/softener system installed in the utility room to remove as much iron as possible from the water.
Again, I apologize for your experience and wish it could have been like so many others who have enjoyed our cabin.
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin, but have a few notes. We really liked the size of the bar height kitchen island and table - great for a group to gather, eat, and we played games and chatted. There is a resort bar/grill (Rock Dam) VERY close, which we really enjoyed. Also, the Willard Well ~10min away was a great place for some drinks. The lake seems VERY easily accessible out back - we didn't use it this time around, but looks very nice for Summer or even ice fishing. Our stay was in Winter, and the bedrooms, bathrooms, and majority of the cabin stay pretty warm - the living room didn't stay as warm. It was mostly the floor, so bringing slippers would help. The water has a very strong iron smell - you will smell it on your body and hands after washing. Not the fault of the owners, just something to be aware of. I recommend the owners put power strips/extension cords in the bedroom so there can be outlets next to the side of the beds for phones and other devices. They do NOT have wifi, which we were surprised by, and cell service is spotty. I'd also recommend a full length or additional mirror in the half bath, which would be helpful for couples who are sharing spaces. It was well-stocked - we had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms. One note, and the reason we gave 4 stars vs 5, is that there is a cleaning fee charged, but there is a higher cleaning expectation when you leave than most other VRBO's we've stayed at (which included vacuuming and sweeping). Overall, we'd stay again, and would love to check it out during the busy Summer season.
The cabin sits in a neighborhood (of other cabins), so if you want privacy this may not be your place, but everything else is great. The kitchen is large with a huge island and dining room table for large families. The living room is very cozy with a great view of the lake. The bathrooms and bedrooms are also nice sizes plus full-sized washer and dryer. The beds and all other furniture are comfortable. We drove to Neilsville (about 30-40 minutes) to hike at the Levis Mound Trail, which was amazing. Then we ate at the Wildcat Inn which had great service and food. The cabin was a great retreat to relax, eat and enjoy being away.

About the host
Hosted by ERNIE TOURVILLE
We purchased this property for our family to enjoy and also looking forward to retirement when we see ourselves spending the summer here. We are not ready to retire yet! We are still too busy to spend a lot of time at our cabin and are happy to share our cabin with you!
Why they chose this property
The location and the features of this cabin sold it for us. We love the close proximity to so many recreational activities. You can find something to do in every season, or you can just relax!
What makes this property unique
Our property is right on the lake in a quiet little bay with a small sandy beach area steps from the cabin. Swim in the small sandy area next to the dock or fish from shore. The view from the cabin to the lake can be experienced from the dining room, kitchen snack bar and living room and is nothing short of exceptional.
