Straight off the family sheep farm on the Kiwi Isle I landed in Sydney sans gumboots and to a lack of short-term fully furnished accommodation. Complaining about said predicament over a glass of Pinot led to an ‘Interesting Idea’ presenting itself: If only people were willing to rent out their homes while they went away on holidays! Extra travel dollars for them, unique alternatives to a hotel and a genuine local experience for travellers like myself! Minus a car and laptop the whole growing a business idea was going to be a little problematic. L’Abode was born on my bedroom floor with the support of a GoGet car and a part-time job to pay the bills. I started with a handful of owners who agreed with me about my ‘Interesting Idea’ (kudos to them!) and the whole thing started to gain legs. L’Abode soon became a team of two (me and my long-standing marketing guru) and L’Abode’s collection of properties quickly doubled. Then tripled. L’Abode’s rapid expansion resulted in my landlord terminating the lease on my apartment due to ‘highly suspicious’ key drop-offs. And thus it appeared, the need for an office and more staff was imminent! From its humble Sydney beginnings L’Abode now boasts a fast-growing collection of bespoke properties Australia wide. What makes this Apartment unique
What to expect Complimentary welcome amenities Bathroom: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand lotion, toilet paper Kitchen: tea, coffee, sugar, dishwashing liquid, wipes, dish brush At least 1 x hair dryer Luxury bedding: crisp bed sheets (duvet cover or triple sheeting), extra blankets, pillows, duvet. Plush towels: 2 x bath towels per bed, facecloths, bath mat, hand towels Unlimited Wifi – see manual for wifi code & password. Please note: A welcome supply is provided for your first nights stay to tide you over until you can get other bits and bobs that you may require for your stay, or to top up the amenities supplied (for eg: toilet paper). What to bring The bath towels at the property can’t be removed. If you plan on hitting the beach please bring your own beach towel. OTHER Check in time is 2pm and check out 10am If the property includes parking, please go into the property first, check the property manual, then follow the parking instructions.

Dirty, run down, terrible management
The flat was more run down than expected and filthy. The carpets looked like they were covered in bodily fluids and there was dust and dirt under every piece of furniture.
When we had a problem with the fridge the property manager did not answer our calls or texts for 24 hours then tried to blame the lack of communication on us. After another 24 hours (once all our food had gone bad) they finally sent someone to repair it; he claimed that it wasn’t broken (spoiled milk to the contrary) and also left the front door to the property unlocked. We have now been in repeated email communication with them and they continue to blame the problem on us. AVOID THIS FLAT AND L’ABODE property management.
Hi Jonathon, we do apologise if you feel we were unresponsive during your stay however as you contacted after business hours - 24 hours is a reasonable response time for any non urgent issues. This is the first mention of any cleanliness issues in the property, which we would of been happy to rectify whilst you were in house by calling back the cleaning team. Regarding the fridge we acted immediately and sent a technician the following day who confirmed there was no issue with the fridge after checking all the temperatures. Thank you for your feedback.
