Shawano WI Wolf River home with lake access via Shawano Lake Channel
This is a 4 private bedroom, 1.5 bath home on the Wolf River below the upper dam just north of County A bridge, with a newly rebuilt stairway to a new dock on Wolf River. You have access to Shawano Lake, so bring or rent a boat. 3 miles south of Menominee casino and 3.5 miles north of Charlie's County Market for grocery. Casino and snowmobile trails nearby, and a great place to stay for Packer games so bring your family. WiFi and YouTube TV are available. There is a large yard available for outdoor activities. Any outdoor fun such as loud music must conclude by 10:00 PM due to local ordinance. There is a gas heater in the outer room on first floor which turns on by a remote mounted on the wall in room. Please turn off when no longer needed. There is also an electric movable heater on first floor that will supplement the heating on first floor since heat rises and the second floor will be much warmer than the first. There is a natural gas fireplace in main sitting room controlled with remote thermostat on opposite wall. You must experiment and regulate your heating satisfaction. There is no guest access to the two car garage or adjacent outbuilding. There is a small room off the hallway with Chaise lounger that can be used as another private bedroom. Cigarette butts must not be thrown on gravel driveway or yard. There is no smoking or vaping inside home, if you must smoke, it must be outside, please dispose of butts properly. You should bring your own hardwood firewood and you should also bring your own starter logs if you'd like to have a fire in the fire pit outside. Bundles of firewood are available for sale at gas stations and local area homes. Plus, Walmart sells a box of firewood for about $6 bucks as well as starter logs. There is also some kindling wood provided inside the larger out building. There are recycle and trash barrels on the side of garage, please dispose of trash properly. If you have doggy pets, there are disposal bags for your use in the utility room in kitchen. Please pick up your pet waste and dispose of waste in the black barrel on side of garage. I encourage you to take caution with your doggy regarding ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes if you let doggy wander in the woods during spring-fall seasons! There is also poison Ivy in the thick part of woods behind house, but the front yard is very wide open and should be less of a threat from the above mentioned annoyances. Kitties are also welcome as long as litter box trained, just bring your kitty's litter box and all will be good.
Also, if you wish during applicable seasons, you can follow the boardwalk to the left of the wood deck and pond, just be cautious of any poison ivy if you venture off the path during season, you can access the Wolf River via the stairway to river. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nwz16yvsl18
IF YOU CHOOSE TO VENTURE ONTO THE STAIRWAY DOWN TO THE DOCK ON RIVER, IT IS AT YOUR OWN DECISION, DISCRETION, AND RISK AND YOU AGREE TO ACCEPT ALL LIABILITY IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS.
**USE CAUTION ON THE STAIRS AS THEY CAN BE SLIPPERY WITH ALGAE.** I do not recommend children be taken down to the river without the child wearing a life jacket and having strict one on one adult supervision as the current in river is strong. There is a small dock at the end of stairway and you must always exercise caution on the dock. You should be able to “tie off or anchor” a boat on the dock, but I recommend two anchors and two tie off ropes due to current of river. And you will need a first mate to assist with docking due to current flow. There is a fallen tree foliage array in the river to the left of the dock that is acting as a ‘breakwater” that would aid in a boat tie off as it slows and diverts the river current flow.
**SAFETY CAUTION RESTATEMENT: IF YOU VENTURE DOWN THE STAIRS TO DOCK AREA DURING YOUR STAY, IT IS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND YOU ACCEPT FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY LIABILITY SINCE YOU'VE BEEN CAUTIONED AND WARNED THE STAIRS AND DOCK CAN BE A RISKY TREK........AND, BY VENTURING DOWN THE STAIRS YOU'VE ACKNOWLEDGED & ACCEPTED THIS SAFETY WARNING/DISCLAIMER AND WILL HOLD HARMLESS & INDEMNIFY (against expenses, judgments, injuries, fatalities, fines, settlements and attorneys' fees reasonably incurred in connection with any threatened or actual civil or criminal proceedings) HOST AND PROPERTY OWNER IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS **
There is a fire pit in the back of house and there is a charcoal grill available. You must purchase charcoal and firewood from local vendors for your own use in the outdoor fire pit. We are not always around, but may stop by occasionally to perform yard work while you stay.

This house had excellent charm and character. It was an extremely pleasant stay. Easy to check in. Close to a variety of activities. Would definitely stay there again!
We loved the property and access to the river. We enjoyed the Wolf River and Red River kayaking! Great location - very private but close to town. Can't wait to come back.

Beautiful property and it was fun to see the cranes and chipmunks! The owner and property manager were very friendly and quick to address any concerns. The property is located off a noisy road but over-all was a wonderful place to stay.
Had everything we needed and then some! Spacious and Clean! This was our first time staying here and we definitely plan to be back in the near future! On site fishing an added bonus for my husband!!
Beautiful property. Well stocked with what we needed. Tom made sure we got checking in ok and was available if we needed him. Location was good as we were in town to see an event as USAIR raceway.
We are return guests and absolutely love this place. Secluded yet minutes away from all the activities in the area. Literally wild life at the door step. It's quaint & homey. Thanks Tom for being an awesome host.
We enjoyed our stay here. The property manager was very prompt in addressing some difficulties checking in. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and the sleeping arrangements were a bit tight, but there was space for everyone. The location is wonderful. Great spot to sit outside or check out the river or swing on the tree swing or build a fire. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils to make all our meals as well.

Thank you Cassia, it was great to host you. I'm surprised the sleeping arrangements were a bit tight, there is room to sleep 7 to 9 people in the house.

***perfect home to stay in for all ages!!!***
House was nice. The best part was fishing and kayaking the river. Had two 13 year old boys with us that just sat on the pier and fished. Tom was a hands off host but very quick to respond to any questions we had.
My wife and I stayed for a week with two sons, a daughter in law and an infant. We had plenty of room to enjoy the week comfortably. The owners had an unfortunate previous occupant and worked for two days to make sure the place was in great shape for our stay. It was spotless and enjoyable. I was able to "get away" by walking down the steps and fish whenever I needed to. It is really a nice place and a great location. I highly recommend.

Mark, you and your family are truly genuine and wonderful people, and I am blessed to having met you you all. You are always welcomed back!
Unusual floor plan but this is a clean rental, great location, attentive owner, and everything worked. Freezer needs some attention; large frost build-up keeps the door from sealing.

Thank you Alan, we have fixed the freezer issue. I'm happy you had a great stay!
I was only in this house for one night, but it was a charming roomy stay. The bed I stayed in up stairs was comfortable, with lots of blankets for the cooler temps. Lots of touches to make this feel like a home, not like a hotel. Was lovely, would stay again.
Loved staying here. Beautiful home and property. I brought my cat and it ended up getting lost in the house. We went to leave and couldn't find her. I talked to Tom on the phone and he was very gracious and generous in allowing me more time to find Kitty. We ended up finding her and were able to bring her home! Thank you Tom.
