About Sarah Heames
My husband and I live in West Yellowstone. My husband is a fly fishing guide and I manage this rental as well as take care of our 2 sons, ages 3 and 5. We live here year around, except in January and February when we take off for Chile to manage a fly fishing lodge down south.
Sarah Heames purchased this House in 2015

Great base to sightsee from
On the edge of town, quiet and peaceful. Nicely appointed home we all thoroughly enjoyed.
Great Experience in West Yellowstone
We were very pleased with the property and the response of the property manager. The location was convenient to restaurants and the park. When we had a problem, the property manager worked quickly getting it resolved. My grand boys loved "the cabin" as they called it and even preferred it over the Big Sky Resort.
We had a great time visiting Yellowstone and the Tetons and our accommodation in West Yellowstone was a great home away from home. It had everything we needed! Thank you!
Great place to stay
We had a great experience while staying at your rental. All was as advertised and other reviews indicated. It was also a great location. Easy access to the park and plenty of things to do around the town of West Yellowstone as well. We would stay here again without any hesitation at all. Sarah was extremely responsive to any questions we had, both before and during our stay. could not be more pleased.
Great place to stay!
There were six in our party, and the size was perfect! (Parents and 4 "boys" ranging from 9- to 20-years-old.) We found the house nicely furnished, clean, and comfortable. The welcome basket was a nice touch. The boys especially enjoyed the goodies!
Our stay was at the end of July/early August and we didn't need the heaters at night even though the outside temp was cooler than we're used to in July. During the heat of the day the ceiling fans kept the house cool.
The house is so close to the west entrance to Yellowstone NP! We have stayed farther away (30 min) in a more remote setting before, but the drive was not something we wanted to do this time. The location of this rental, on the west side of town, was nice. It didn't feel as "in town" as I was worried about! There are other rentals that share the alley/driveway, but it wasn't an issue for us.
We also loved that we were close to the Playmill Theater in West Yellowstone. We highly recommend attending a show (or 2 or 3)!!
Sarah was a fantastic host and very easy to contact/communicate with. She sent us some suggestions of places to visit on our drive in (if we needed to stretch our legs a bit!) She and her husband were super helpful at the end of our stay when we had a small issue with our van that could have turned into a big issue! We really appreciate that help!
Overall a terrific experience!
Perfect for visiting YNP! Clean, well-stocked house in a great location, close to park entrance!
If you are visiting Yellowstone from the West and don't plan to camp/stay in the actual park, this is about as close as you can get!! The location is great, very easy park access, maybe 5 minutes drive to the gate. Stationed in a small town that's big enough to have amenities (grocery store, gas station, souvenir shops & a couple OK restaurants) but not too crowded. Perfect for our needs.
The house itself is one of maybe 6 similarly constructed residences crammed into a rather small lot. It was fine for our needs but keep in mind there's no yard, grass or real "outdoor" space for kids to run around, etc. The houses are rather close together and even though there's a "garage" it's pretty small to be considered practical so vehicles occupy the only available (graveled) outdoor space. Not a big deal, we spent almost everyday enjoying the park!
The house itself was clean, seemed to be newer construction and VERY well-stocked compared to any other place (VRBO, Airbnb, etc.) we've stayed in. I came prepared with way more than we ended up needing which was a nice touch.
My only real gripe would be that the house is a rather odd layout, 6 stairs to get to the front door, main floor has a family room with a single couch and chair, full bath and a kitchen which can only be accessed when the front door is shut (makes for some awkwardness bringing in groceries and such). Upstairs from there is a "kids" room with two twin beds, they get the main floor bath. Downstairs from the main floor are two decent sized rooms for adults with a shared bath. The floorplan is very suitable for a family. Being we were 6 ppl total (2 adult couples plus 2 kids) the shared downstairs "adult" bathroom us was a bit of a shuffle in the morning. We managed but I would recommend maybe looking for a place with a bit more space if more than one adult couple is looking to rent for the week. Anyways, don't let my floorplan gripes discourage you, the house is very nice and worked out well in the end! We got use to it after a couple of days.
Oh, be sure to open windows if you visit during the summer, it gets HOT otherwise very fast (no A/C). Thankfully even on the hottest days it cools down at night due to the elevation.
The owner's were very responsive and checked in with us by text a couple of times. Great house overall. Would highly recommend!
Located only 1 mile from the entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Close to the Madison and Henry's fork River for fishing. Half a mile away are the famous Rendezvous cross country ski trail and in the summer, mountain biking and hiking trails.
