About this property

3 bed/2 bath Carrboro ranch, convenient to downtown!

Come stay at “Cheeky in Carrboro”, our renovated 3 bed, 2 bath single story house, easily accessible by car, bike, bus, or just walking to everything in Carrboro and Chapel Hill. Come for a weekend Carolina game, a show at the Cat’s Cradle, or stay for a week to visit friends and family.

Fast Wi-Fi (386 Mbps) | Fire Pit | ~2 Mi to UNC | Kid Friendly | Fenced-in Backyard

Cheeky is in one of the local Carrboro neighborhoods built in the 1950s; we renovated the house in the last couple of years, updating the kitchen and bathrooms. We've set the house up for short- and medium-term stays. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, and cookware, so you can cook and relax just like at home.

We provide ground coffee, tea, and oatmeal, and many child-friendly amenities including highchair, kids' dishes, beds, pack ‘n play, toys, games, books, and movies. Enjoy grilling on the back patio while sitting by the fire pit in the fenced in backyard or shooting hoops in the driveway.

More information: Carrboro is affectionately known as the “Paris of the Piedmont”. You can easily walk, bike, drive, or take the free bus to downtown Carrboro or Chapel Hill. Carrboro has several great coffee shops, 2 of which are within a 5-10 minute walk from the house. The area has many great locally-owned restaurants and pubs, and 2 grocery stores less than a mile away. The Carrboro Farmer’s Market is available Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings with local produce, baked goods, and crafts. Wilson Park and MLK Park are both a 5-10 minute walk from the house.

Getting around: Carrboro is a very walkable town. If you’re driving, parking is free in downtown Carrboro. Chapel Hill has many town parking lots (for a fee). Take advantage of the free bus service (7 days a week). The bus stop is just around the corner from the house. Use the NextBus app or check out the route maps we keep at the house.

Great location!
2nd time staying at this home. Quiet neighborhood great for walking/running & close to downtown. It was a perfect place for us and some of our adult children to stay while visiting family for Thanksgiving weekend.

Charmed by Cheeky
Our son and his wife and Brand New baby were moving to Chapel Hill married student housing. I was looking for a place to stay with my husband, and also the parents of my son’s wife. This house is completely set up for two sets of adults to be very comfortable! There’s also an extra room with a trundle bed, and everything you would want to help a little baby: a pack and play and a highchair and even bibs! The closets were stocked with extra items and even extension cords if needed. The house was beautifully clean, the oatmeal was a happy gift The owners came and visited us! They were so very nice after we broke something and we were so thankful for a chance to get to know them a little better Oh, and I have never had a shower with better water pressure in my life! The blue bathroom was just delightful The public transportation from the house saved a multitude of parking fees. It’s a beautiful place to stay and I can’t wait to go back Not only is the house beautifully clean and comfortable, the house is also full of beautiful art! I asked about a few pieces and the owner even brought over a book from one of the artists! We stayed in the Paris room and it was very lovely and comfortable

Perfect location
We had a wonderful stay at “Cheeky in Carrboro”. The house was in the perfect location to visit our daughter and her friends in Carrboro, they were able to walk back and forth to visit. Our hosts truly thought of everything a guest could need for a comfortable stay, their attention to even the smallest details was exceptional. Every time we thought of something we needed, we looked and almost always found it already there. The space was well laid out, with multiple spaces to hang out as a family or enjoy some quiet down time. We hope to stay again when we return to Carrboro.

I work in global health and my husband works in real estate and with bikes. We have 2 children (16 and 19) and have lived in Carrboro, the "Paris of the Piedmont", for more than 20 years. We are right next door to Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have an adjunct appoint in the Gillings School of Global Public Health and occasionally teach a class in global health.

Why they chose this property

My dad is a snowbird from Michigan and lives in the house during the winter months and we make this house available the rest of the year as a short- or medium-term rental in the Carrboro/Chapel Hill area.

What makes this property unique

This house is easily accessible to all of Carrboro and Chapel Hill, walking, biking, by car, or by free city just steps from the house. Carrboro is the funky neighbor to Chapel Hill, with lots going on, including live music, restaurants and bars, and tons of outdoor activities like mountain biking, road biking, and hiking. My husband works at the local Trek Bike shop so ask us about good trails for mountain and road biking!
