Sunset Bay Escape is a unique Bruny Island holiday stay. It is a much loved luxury holiday house. With uninterrupted, panoramic coastal views & the most spectacular sunsets this beautiful house is a delight. A perfect base for couples, families, friends & groups for your next Island holiday. The house sleeps 6 people. Swim , fish, kayak less then 200 metres from the house. Situated on the aptly named 'Sunset Bay' this superbly designed & tastefully decorated house is the perfect base to explore.
The house has been professionally designed and built to breathe in the glorious sea and mountain views. The huge glass facade acts as a canvas to the Hartz Mountains, Sunset Bay and Satellite Island. The house has been designed to bring the outside in. The glass wall has a variety of opening doors to ensure you really enjoy the inside and outside flow. Over the past 12 months we have replaced the fridge, a new BBQ, smart TV, solar HWU, outdoor furniture and replaced the decking front & back with beautiful
merbeau hardwood decking. We have also upgraded the air conditioning with new units installed in bedrooms 1 & 2 as well as a new unit in the main living area!

The house is a real entertainers delight. The three bedrooms and three bathrooms are all tastefully furnished and the queen size beds are of high quality. The hotel quality linen ensures for a beautiful nights sleep.

The master bedroom alone is 37 square metres in size and has a flat screen TV, luxury ensuite, chaise lounge.

The main living areas have both reverse cycle heating and cooling and a large wood fire. The kitchen is equipped with a beautiful Ariston 6 burner gas oven, dishwasher, microwave, stone benchtops and quality kitchen wear. The kitchen is fully stocked to accommodate for our guests who love to cook. With the wonderful variety of Tasmanian produce at your disposal it really is a pleasure to utilise the kitchen facilities.

Leather recliners in the living area are beautifully comfortable and a real treat when wanting to lie back, relax and watch a DVD, TV or listen to music. The DVD and CD collection is very substantial. There is also a variety of books, including cook books to choose from. The TV room is equipped with ceiling speakers to take advantage of playing music and appreciating the great acoustics.

The house has a huge sun deck that takes full advantage of the uninterrupted panoramic sea and mountain views. A great place to spot black cockatoos, wallabies, sea eagles, parrots. Enjoy a barbeque on the deck or lie back on the sun lounges or dine on the outdoor dining table. There is also a large deck at the front of the house, equipped with table and chairs to enjoy the morning sunshine.

Our 2nd stay at Sunset Bay and so glad we came back. The house and deck are lovely, the kitchen and facilities are superb. Perfect location for exploring Bruny, great views and sunsets and plenty of wallabies around to keep you amused. Pub is close by if you want a takeaway pizza of a meal.

Sunset bay escape was perfect for a short stay on Bruny island. 3 good sized bedrooms each with a bathroom made it so easy. Yes it was hit after being closed up for the day but it cooled down quickly with the doors open. Hotel Bruny was a short walk and the premium wines for dinner on Saturday was fabulous.

Wow! What a view! The house was well-appointed with everything we could want. It was such a lovely space to be in and the outlook was gorgeous. We were treated to a magnificent sunset too. The 17km hike in the national park is highly recommended too!

Unfortunately we didn’t have a very positive experience with this property. Checking in to find that the property hadn’t been cleaned. On contacting the owner he informed us that he had supposedly cancelled the booking which no confirmation had been received. We were kicked out and had to try and find alternative options last minute on a long weekend.

This is the nicest holiday home on the island. Beautiful views, everything you could possibly need in the house and close to the pub and cafe at the end of the street. An excellent view, great location and property. A wonderful place to stay for families, friends and to include whatever age. The only things to let the owner know was that the accomodation could benefit with screen doors, on front and back and a power point in the bathroom of the bedroom, front right side facing the ocean.

Sunset Bay was a dream - the view from this house was exceptional to the point that we only ever reluctantly left the house. The kids thought it was “the best house ever”. Location was amazing either with an easy stroll to dinner at Bruny Island hotel. Would definitely recommend.

Alonnah

Alonnah is one of the best Bruny Island beaches to walk along. The house is large , as dramatic as in the photos and generously stocked with pantry basics. The front deck was superb! Hotel Bruny is a great local, and don’t miss Issy’s Bar (about 4km away).

Exceptional Property Overlooking Sunset Bay Alonnah, Bruny Island

Sunset Bay Escape holiday house is an exceptional property with amazing views overlooking the water, from the moment you walk through the front door the view is breathtaking, the home has everything you need for a short or long stay, the furnishings and fixtures are at a high standard, I will definitely be recommending Sunset Bay Escape to all my family and friends and look forward to returning again in the future.

Great place

We stayed as a group of 3 couples and loved the place. It has amazing views, warm fire with plenty of wood and a well equipped kitchen. Just a short stroll to the pub and beach, it is a great base for a few days on beautiful Bruny Island. A special thanks to the host Mark for being so understanding (unlike some other hosts) about Covid related delays in 2020 and 2021. We are so glad we finally got there.

Bruny Island - Alonnah

This property is incredibly comfortable and spacious. Although there is space in between, including a quiet road, the full glass doors looking over to the bay and islands make a wonderful outlook. it was especially nice when the rain was beating down and the winds were blowing to stay inside in the warmth and watch the beautiful waterscape.

My wife saw this house for sale, could not believe the stunning views from the lounge room and the bedrooms. As well as the modern design of the house. We both know you will be just as impressed with our house as we are.

What makes this property unique

Our house is only 200m from the Bruny Pub, there is a great walkway around the foreshore, the local winery is only 2 klm away, but the sunsets from the balcony of our house are spectacular, the view ever changing as the sun sets!
