About this property
Crystal Lk Cottage AMAZING Prvt Sandy Lake Biweekly monthly discount - new deck
Our cottage has a beautiful private sandy beach with sandy lake bottom too, with lots of seating and toys. Our cottage is ideal for 5 (our price is based on 6 guests) and we have had up to 11 with enjoyment for all. For sleeping we have a QUEEN SLEEP NUMBER BED in main bedroom (sleeps 2). There is a double bed in lower level bedroom plus another all purpose room/bedroom with twin trundle bed (sleeps 2). We have had guests bring their own air mattresses and bedding to fit more people. We can discuss this, we are pretty much happy if you are.
Amazing view in the main living area. Brand new open kitchen including cooking utensils, stove/oven/air fryer, microwave, toaster, refrigerator/freezer and coffee maker. This is a beautiful kitchen. I am very proud of. Bar sits 4-6 comfortably with two tables on deck. There is also a table at the deck on the beach with a large awning for shade. And a bar at the beach.
We have a charcoal grill for guest and there is a cooler down at the beach for guests as well under the awning.
The deck has a fantastic view with seating.
There are lots of toys for the little one down at the beach. While supplies last... Parents must get the toys our for their child. Parents must put the toys away for the next guest. Many parents trust their children to do it and this does not work. The parents must make sure the toys are back where they belong.
For the adults there is a canoe, 2 kayaks, All while supplies last... We store our pontoon on the dock that we use from time to time but other than that the beach is private. Please don’t let anyone on the pontoon.
This cottage is our happy place.
We waited our entire lives to find this home on Crystal lake. It was built by a student of Francis Lloyd Wright and you can see it in his attention to detail and love he put into this house. When I walk into my cottage my troubles just seem to melt away from my shoulders. I can breathe easier. I sleep better.
I wake up in the mornings and have my coffee on the peaceful balcony and watch the quiet, calm lake and just breathe.
I make a pitcher of iced tea and take it out to the beach along with my favorite book and read until the sun tells me it's time to jump in the lake or float on my float tubes. I usually end up in the kayak or on a paddle board watching the sandy bottom go by and counting fish.
When we start to get hungry we bbq on the grill. In the evening we light a fire in the lake side fire place and make smores as we watch the sun set. Then we search for constellations and count shooting stars. Our beach is pretty private so I usually end up sneaking back into the lake for a midnight swim to cool down, float on my back and watch the stars some more. Then we go sit in the balcony for a late night glass of wine. We go to bed and get lulled to sleep by the lapping of the lake on the shore line.

About the host
Hosted by Meg Hubbard

I was born and raised in Benzie County. My husband and I had an adult foster care home -Frankfort Senior Care Home- with 12 elderly clients living with us. I took care of people for nearly 25 years. We currently own Bayshore Tire and Auto in Elberta. We don't get much free time but we spend all the free time we can get on Crystal Lake.
Why they chose this property
This cottage is our happy place.
I love how easy it is to get to everywhere we want to go. All the attractions are close by and easy to get to.

What makes this property unique
When I stepped into the living room and saw the wall of glass overlooking the lake I knew this was our home. It has the wood functionality my husband wanted and the views of the lake and private beach I needed. I just have to take a deep breath of relief each time I get to stay here.
I love the whimsy of the spiral stair case and the glow in the dark star stickers on the ceiling as i fall asleep. I love going to sleep to the sound of the gentle sound of the water reaching for the shore.
My stress melts away there. The cottage has a washer and dryer so i don't have to lug our clothes around. I can see the lake while i do dishes - making even the chores easier.
The basement has two large doors that open up under the veranda so even on a a rainy day you still get to enjoy the outside and we love to watch the storms come in.
There is plenty of outdoor seating and an awning to protect you from the sun and help you keep cool. There is even a place to hang your wet towels at the beach.
