Beautiful and great location. The communication was easy and responded quickly when we needed help with the door lock.We loved having 3 king beds for each couple and the loft room for the teenagers.I would suggest ear plugs for sleeping in the downstairs master. The creaks are super loud anytime someone walks upstairs or rolls over in bed.
I couldn't have been more disappointed upon my arrival after driving 500+ miles. The description that the owner states "backs to forest land" is incorrect. This home is in a tract of homes in a wooded area. Isolated and secluded is what I expected and is not what was delivered. No neighbors? Really? I walked out onto the rear deck in the morning and was surprised to see the neighbor next door watching to see what I was doing, dressed in his white bathrobe and drinking his coffee. There are numerous homes in front of this home (right across the street) and a few in the rear and side, certainly not a forest and certainly not isolated or secluded. New Ralph Lauren furnishings? Not even close. Main floor couch is a sad sectional with slip covers, the dining room table is a wrought iron table (with mosaic tile inset on top), wrought iron benches and a couple of chairs. A more appropriate placement of this table would be on the rear deck in the summer. One additional old side chair is all of the seating available in the "great room". The kitchen island/counter allows for no additional seating. A slip covered old chair greets you when you enter the front door. There is not a piece of Ralph Lauren furniture in this house. It appears to be eclectic garage finds. Kitchen has a decent refrigerator and stove, but, a 700 watt Sharp countertop microwave in not what I would call "high end". Upon arrival, I expected to find enough firewood to start a fire. No, instead, I found one piece of firewood about the size of my forearm and another piece the size of my hand. That is what was inside the house. I guess I was supposed to bring in a load of firewood from the covered stack in the back of the house. Really? It was such a disappointment! I arrived at 6pm on Monday evening and drove out at 8am Tuesday morning......four days before my stay ended and drive another 500+ miles home. I texted the owner upon backing up out of the driveway 14 hours after my arrival to let him know that I was leaving and that it just didn't work for me. The next morning I texted him all of the above input (per his request) and his home. His answer to me was "his description of the property is 100% ambiguous." I say that his description is 100% inaccurate. I have stayed at a number of resort "high-end" vacation rentals and have been very happy with pleased. This home, however, is not, in my opinion, even close to what is advertised.

Dear Cindy,
We couldn’t be more surprised that your experience staying at our vacation home was a disappointment. As you can see from the previous reviews, without exception our previous guests have all been very complimentary of it’s style, comfort and convenience. We are sorry that the experience didn’t meet your expectations. We have always taken such pride in our home and we offer it to guests knowing that we are offering a relaxed, elegant and classic Tahoe experience. We have links to maps to show it’s exact location, numerous photographs of the rooms and lengthy descriptions of its layout and amenities. A professional designer selected all of the furniture and furnishings with our instruction to create an elegant, unique and most of all, comfortable home. Naturally, it is hard to create a place that meets every taste and we are sorry that it wasn’t what you might have wanted.
We appreciate the comments about the firewood not being stacked and will make sure to instruct our cleaning crew to see to this for future guests. And you are right that the microwave had been replaced since the photographs were taken so we will update that photograph. In our text exchange, I indicated - "Our intent is zero ambiguity in our description and I appreciate the honest evaluation”. Again, thank you for letting us know.

Quiet and Spacious in a Wonderful Location
Just the two of us went with our doggie. We were a little concerned about going during the transitional season...but had a blast! The place is spacious and comfortable with a large family room complemented by a romantic bedroom. Kids can be upstairs in their own quarters. As for activities: off season meant we could get anywhere fast. In addition to restaurants, we took advantage of snowshoeing, and could do it
right out the back yard. Step out the door and you are in the woods...magical.

Amazing home and lovey vacation!!!
What can I say, except for that I was blown away by how serene and special this home and location is. One of the first things you notice when walking into the living area is a wall of windows and the forest as far as the eye can see. I have been coming to Lake Tahoe for over 25 years and it's quite rare to find a home with a backyard that leads directly into protected forest lands. The home comfortably accomadated our group of 10 and we never felt like we were in each other's way. The sheets and towels were soft and suple. I travel a lot and believe I have a high standard when it comes to furnishings and comfort, this home surpassed my expectations. It's 15 min from Northstar, 5 min from Safeway, 2 min from Garwoods; couldn't ask for a better location. Moving forward, this home will be my first choice every time I make my way to Lake Tahoe. Thank you for the magical experience!

Incredible Home, Perfect Experience
I had the opportunity to stay at this beautiful home in the early winter. It was everything I hoped for and more. A very warm and comfortable setting that made it easy to relax. Lake Tahoe is a quick walk and beaches and ski resorts are close by. Truly the perfect Tahoe experience in an ideal location. Perfect for groups and families. I will certainly be going back.

Great weekend getaway!
I rented the house for a weekend getaway with a group of coworkers and everything was perfect! The open living area was great for hanging out, cooking and eating together. The sound system in the living area was great and we could hook up our phones to play music. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Bed configuration worked out great, especially the bunk room, and more than plenty of bathrooms for everyone to share. Close to the shore and everything in Carnelian Bay and King's Beach. Would definitely book again!

Holiday Getaway!
Had a fabulous time in this beautiful house. Clean, great condition, super comfortable. It's a perfect house for family and friends. The great room with kitchen and dining is the perfect area to gather for food, dining and lounging. Loved the hot tub! Easy access to Tahoe City and many ski resorts.

Elegance and comfort in Nature
This is a beautiful home with nearby access to hiking trails, Lake Tahoe and skiing. The appointments in the house are tasteful and the outside area is inviting .. with an unobstructed view of the forest and a hot tub.

Perfect !!!
Long overdue review, but this place is incredible. Our family of 4 and our guests that came overnight for one night had an amazing time. The best thing - it is very central to the 'civilized' part of North Shore, but absolutely removed from everything! The wilderness trails out the back is true Sierra back country hiking. The worst thing - that we didn't book the whole week there ( only 4 days). The house is elegant but comfortable and had everything we needed for cooking in, and entertaining. Compliments to the hosts who made it very easy to book and were full of useful tips to the area.

Stylish, impeccable, luxurious home with top notch amenities!
I rented this home for my family and one other over Labor Day weekend and it is a gem. The thoughtful care the owners have put into decorating in shows in every piece of furniture, the linens, the light fixtures and the high end appliances in the kitchen. It feels like a designer home. We felt lucky to have found it and it was perfect for our group of 8 (4 adults and 4 kids). It could have accommodated more, as it has a large dining table, and large "great room". The hot tub is private and faces a forest. We loved the location as the quick access to the lake, and Tahoe City or Kings Beach or hiking out the door is fantastic. It exceeded our expectations and we will absolutely be back. The owners were also very easy to deal with and helped with recommendations that we needed for restaurants, massage and childcare. Would give more stars if I could.

Amazing weekend!
Just had the most amazing time here a few weekends ago! It was super comfortable, much cuter than in the pictures. The bath robes and soft sheets were a very nice touch and I loved making dinner in the kitchen- felt like a chefs kitchen.. It is right in the forest so we took advantage of the trails all around the house. Definitely recommend!
