Has potential but not as advertised

Our overall impression was that this little boutique hotel has a lot of potential however it has not been cared for. It has a lot of maintenance issues and there were roaches on two of the rooms. The shark room sliding door wouldnt close. On our arrival we were told the hungalows were unavailable and no compensation was provided. Our group had to be inconvenienced but we had no choice but to deal with it since we were not notified prior to our arrival.

Perfect Beach Shack

This hotel was exactly what my group of friends and I needed. The communication was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and in good shape, and air conditioning worked for most of the rooms. If you're looking for a chill hotel on the beach with good vibes, a nice little pool, and great restaurants on both sides, this is your place. Don't expect the Ritz, but do expect a good time

Great hotel for a surf trip with friends

The hotel was mostly as described and did not disappoint. Great pool, unique rooms, cold A/C, great location with waves right out back and great restaurants next door. We expected a restaurant at the property, but unfortunately it burned down recently I guess. Either way our group loved it!

Fun Family Stay

Adam was great and very helpful, the property location is great and right on the beach. The breakfast was excellent. There were a few minor issues with rooms but Adam and staff went out of there way to help accommodate. Really enjoyed the location right on the beach, was a very memorable experience for my family. Would stay here again.

Why they chose this property

I travelled to this area for years before I bought the place. I fell in love with the unique atmosphere the area has to offer. An opportunity arose for me to buy the place, and I had to do it. I renovated the hotel completely, redoing all of the rooms, public areas, etc. I wanted the place to become a more legitimate hotel with all amenities necessary for comfort. I knew this place had so much potential before buying, and I wanted to make sure it gets to where it can be!

What makes this property unique

The location is ideal. Playa Hermosa offers that authentic Costa Rican experience that is hard to get in more populated cities like Jaco. The people are friendly, the waves are great, and the place is beautiful.
