House: Lounge around in this large open plan home with 5 bedrooms (3 queen beds and 1 large single) on two levels, 2 generous lounges, kitchen, dining room, large decks, with beautiful gardens surrounding the house. Watch the moon and the sun coming up over the water from the decks, two of the bedrooms and the dining room.

Internal character: The house has recycled rimu and kauri timber used through the house and a large free standing fireplace for toasting the marshmallows in the cooler days as well as table soccer

Things to do: Everything from
- BeachHop, with hundreds of brilliantly restored cars and motorbike and trucks
- beautiful walks down to the beach through the beautiful forest (5mins) ... or to
- Octopus Bay (25mins each way) or visit

or drive out along Peninsula Rd and look south to Whangamata and watch the surfers taking on the waves at the bar or the beach break

Stunning views

Mark, the host is very helpful and accommodating.The house is large with the most amazing views.Only 8 minutes to supermarket and whangamata.The beach at onemana is patrolled and much niver than whangamata in my opinion.I highly recommend this place.

We have lived at the house for almost 30 years - a long term building programme! The kids grew up here and they had a great childhood, enjoying all the adventures that are possible here! The-3 minute walk through the pohutukawas to the beach is beautiful in itself. The beach is great for children and some good surf has kicked in over the last 3-4 years :-) There are surfboards and wetsuits that can be used as well as 2 kayaks with safety gear.

Why they chose this property

The view out to sea, the pohutukawas and the farm is spectacular and ever-changing. Watching the sun/moon come up over the ocean each day marks the beginning and the end of the day and both events are always spectacular but also deeply refreshing as you sense the peace and tranquillity. Sitting on the either of the two decks or in almost any of the rooms, with a glass of wine at the end of the day is deeply satisfying. This is a beautiful home with plenty of unique spaces and places where you can sit and follow the sun through the day or head for the beach and enjoy the warmth of the sun, the beautiful clear water and walks to Pokohino beach (40mins) or to Octopus bay (25mins) to stretch the legs and feel and experience the endless white sandy beaches. I love living here, regardless of the time of year; I feel very privileged and it is great to share the space with others.
