Fantastic home in the woods! Easy to find, close to several ski resorts and hiking trails and even a great brewery/restaurant in town. We stayed here the weekend of the eclipse, as a resting place before we drove even farther north the day of the eclipse. What a pleasant surprise! Tastefully decorated, super clean, COMFORTABLE furniture—couches AND beds. Even the pillows and linens were nice quality. We rent vacation homes often, and this one was the best. The mattresses felt new and were not cheap. The kitchen is nicely stocked with plenty of dishes and cookware. Folks, there was name brand, quilted tp! That might sound silly, but so many rentals we stay at use the cheapest materials they can supply! We felt like we were staying at a friend’s house, not a rental. The rooms are large, including a bunk room that had 4 twins and a double—perfect for our three teens. Two beautiful queen bedrooms—if you get cold, choose the one at the top of the stairs, it’s the warmest room. Nice dressers (not DIY built), closet space, and two large bathrooms. Lots of cozy extra blankets, plenty of towels, etc. We brought our own coffee and food, but there’s a Shaws grocery not far away and a movie theater. We didn’t see any moose, but there were tracks in the snow in the morning. (Get up at dawn, grab your coffee, turn on the fireplace on the beautiful enclosed porch and watch for wildlife.) I read in the guestbook that there are trails out back. Snowshoes would’ve been fun, so bring them if you’ve got them. Definitely a great place with friendly hosts—highly recommend!Oh, I forgot—the hosts let you park in the garage! There’s one garage, so be sure you arrive before your fellow travelers to get the primo parking! 👍 Plenty of parking for others!
