This pristine home offers you a quiet and friendly community located at the West end of Donner Lake, Truckee, CA. The interior of the home provides a warm welcome with updated furnishings and attention to detail. Enjoy the living room with a gas fireplace, flat screen TV and stereo. The kitchen is updated and is fully equipped. The bathroom is also updated, has a tub/shower and a heated floor.

The 3 cabin bedrooms are carpeted and have high quality mattresses ( 1 King room and a twin bedroom upstairs, 1 Queen room downstairs).

This desirable West end location is a 5-minute walk to the shuttle service to area resorts and a 10-minute drive to the quaint town of Truckee (loaded with shops and restaurants). It's a 5-minute drive up the back summit to the Sugar Bowl Ski Resort. It's a 20 minute drive to North Star, Alpine and Palisades ski resorts. Tahoe City is a 30-minute drive.

Wonderful retreat at Donner Lake!

We were delighted by our weeklong stay at this charming and cozy house. The kitchen and bathroom are freshly updated with many lovely and thoughtful touches. The back yard is truly an oasis, with several secluded seating areas and a deck for enjoying the garden, trees and fresh mountain air. And the bedrooms are comfy, exceeding our expectations for a rental by a long shot. The entire house was spotless and in perfect condition when we arrived. We felt right at home the minute we walked in. The public West End Beach is a short walk, and we could glimpse the beautiful lake from the front deck. Downtown Truckee and Donner Pass are both a short drive away, providing us with wonderful dining choices as well as epic hiking. Whether swimming, rafting, kayaking or hiking, we were happy to return to this wonderful house after a day enjoying all that the Truckee area has to offer. The owners were very responsive. We could tell they put a lot of love into this house. We can't wait to come back!

Perfect! Loved it!

What a gem! Great location with easy walk to beach. The cabin has everything you need from kitchen amenities to very comfy beds... not to mention the bunkhouse-a great retreat for the grandparents! Upstairs was a perfect fit for our son and his family giving them their own space. The back patio is private and serene. A nice place to enjoy your evening. There are just so many nice touches that are there to enhance your stay. A lot of thought was put into this property. It was comfortable for 6 adults and three kiddos(ages 6, 2 1/2 and 3 mos old). We enjoyed the close proximity to Truckee. One day floating the river, one day visiting Truckee downtown and two days on the beach... in between walks and fishing. Judy, the owner is awesome. Very responsive. It was the perfect place to take our family for our annual vacation and we hope to return! Thank you Judy!!

Donner Lake is dear to my heart as I partially grew up here in the 60-70's. It's a joy to be back sharing the beauty and mountain adventures with my own family. We love tennis, boating and snow skiing. After an action packed day, I always look forward to an evening fire, happy hour with neighbors, and listening to the kids play games in the quiet streets.

I enjoy traveling and exploring. I seek out places to stay that are updated, super clean and convenient so this is what I thrive on presenting to our guests. It's all in the special touches. I hope that our guests will feel at home and keep returning to build memories.

Why they chose this property

The West end of Donner Lake is the best location on the lake. It's a small, charming community. Cabin owners come from generation to generation. The people are happy, super friendly and helpful. Kids and adults make friends easily in this happy place. The neighborhoods are quiet and a joy to walk, bike ride and explore. Chill your feet in the beautiful creeks.
The public beach is a 5-minute walk. The bridge on South Shore drive is a popular meeting place - especially for kids as they plunge into the water below! The Ice "Creamery" is another popular spot at the West end. It's a 5 minute drive up the summit to Sugar Bowl. It's a 20-minute drive to Alpine and Palisades ski resorts, a half-hour drive to Tahoe City, and 10 minutes to the historic, quaint town of Truckee.
