Cottage on the Kennebec
Beautiful Riverside cottage, private, remote, semi-secluded. Located on the Kennebec river. A roomy one room cottage and enclosed porch with a view of the river and the Appalachian Trail crossing. Surrounded by woods and bordered by a crystal clear stream. If you're into the outdoors this is the place for you. Hiking, biking, fishing, rafting right outside your door. The main cabin has a queen size bed, the enclosed porch has one double bed and one single bed. During the day, the porch is a great place to relax, read a book, or just take in the river view. A roomy kitchen, with everything you could need. The full bath is also stocked with towels, soap, shampoo, etc. and has a stackable washer and dryer for your use. You will also have free use of the River/lake, lawn/beach area, fire pit, gazebo with double hammock, kayaks, canoe and propane grill. We are in the middle of an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. Next to the applachian trail, we have tons of day hikes close by, mountain tops, views, or waterfalls whatever you're looking for. Whitewater rafting is the big summer industry here, there are several outfitters located within 5 miles of our place. Several restaurants and a brew pub are close by. You can fish right out the front door, either in the lake, the river or in the stream that borders the property. There are biking and walking trails as well. We are glad to offer suggestions, or even show you around. We are next door on the property and happy to answer any questions or help with concerns. We love to meet new people and socialize but will respect your space and privacy.

This was a perfect location to spend our first visit to Maine. What a lovely, peaceful place that Kim and Mike have on the Kennebec river, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend this cottage!
Mike and Kim were wonderful hosts! And the property was perfect for our family of 4, it had everything we needed. Mike went above and beyond when he came to our rescue after breaking down on our way to go Whitewater rafting. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing stay on the river. We can't wait to go back.
This a lovely peaceful place right on the river. The cabin is super clean and well equipped . The beds are comfy. And so quiet at night! We loved the no-TV vibe.
Absolutely beautiful riverside cottage that was fully equipped for a comfortable stay. Everything was spotlessly clean in a very cozy setting. The cabin design was so ‘Maine Woods’ and fit perfectly with our fly fishing trip with Kennebec Anglers. I would highly recommend this location for anyone headed to the Kennebec River for recreation.
My wife Paula and I had a great stay. The cabin was a great location just a short walk to the Kenebec river. The hosts were great, accommodating and made our stay very enjoyable.
The cottage was beautiful, clean, well-appointed and comfortable. The hosts think of everything and made us feel welcomed and at home. Gorgeous hiking, a river in the backyard and a friendly cat to pet. Whitewater rafting was a highlight of the trip.
This is the best stay we have ever booked. The location was ideal with the enchanwoods and gorgeous river. The cabin was warm, inviting and beautiful. There were ao many little touches that show the hosts care about your stay. There was everything you would need in the kitchen and bathroom, plenty of extra pillows and blankets, a fan, and lots of firewood. We will definitely be back!
The Cottage on the Kennebec is exactly as advertised. We explored the area (Houston Brook Falls, Moxie Falls, and Jackman Trading Post are highly recommended!), but spent a lot of time just enjoying the property kayaking, grilling, sitting by the river, playing games, and using the fire pit. Mike and Kim were very friendly and made us feel welcome while respecting our privacy.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay. The cottage was lovely and we especially enjoyed sleeping on the screened porch. Everything we needed was available without needing to ask.
Stayed for one night. Such a quaint spot. Right on the river, literally.

It was great to meet you and have you both here. Thanks again,

My husband and I were looking for a place to relax. We found it. Great cabin by the River. Swimming, boating, fishing, reading, relaxing. Kim and Mike were wonderful host. I wanted to go white water rafting. Kim recommended Northern Outdoors. We had the best time and would raft with them again. We will definitely stay here again!
This cabin along the Kennebec is so beautiful. The setting is just beyond the homeowner’s main house. Views from the cabin include the Kennebec and woodlands behind the home. We were there during a major heatwave in the early summer but the fans kept the air moving and made it so much more bearable. We want to come back during the fall to see the leaves and hike to the local waterfalls.
This cabin was everything we were looking for and matched the description perfectly. Fully stocked and had zero complaints. The cabin's property is gorgeous near the river and would high recommend this to anyone.
Serene cabin on the Kennebec River. The cabin is impeccably clean with ample space and all the necessities. We caught many fish on the river , enjoyed kayaking. Mike and Kim are great hosts, very friendly and helpful.
We had the best time visiting Maine and staying at this super cozy and clean cabin. Mike and Kim were friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. I could have talked to Kim all night. Lol. We just loved the peace and quiet of the property and can’t wait to return.
This cabin is easily one of the best wilderness facilities I have ever encountered. Fully modernized kitchen, extremely upgraded bathroom and a washer dryer. If this were a Condo it would be described as fully furnished and move in ready. It is a GEM.
