love this location! Right across from an empty lot!
Really enjoyed where the property was and that it was right across from the beach and there was an empty lot so we could hear and see the beach all the time. The floors, however, were filthy. We rent lots of beach houses and we know sand is inevitable, but these floors had not been mopped thoroughly. Our feet were black if we went barefoot for any length of time.
Our family: my wife and I, my daughters, my grandchildren, always spend a week together in a large house either at the mountains or the beach. This year, we chose Oak Island. The property was all we hoped it would be. The view was spectacular. The house was well stocked. Our favorite room was the sun room. There we played cards, read, had great discussions, and sometimes just sat in the rocking chair and took in the view. When it was time to watch Thanksgiving Day sports, there were adequate TV's available for those who chose to watch basketball or football. Our family loved this place!
Smith's Bermuda was the perfect place for our family reunion. There was lots of space, good access to the beach, a well stocked kitchen. We had our dinners in the space under the house close to the BBQ and picnic table. We all had fun.
We all enjoyed staying in this property. Beach was across the street that was easy to pass the road. The house was very clean. However we saw a few small cockroaches?! The house is equipped with elevator that we did not use, but can be a great plus for people that cannot use steps. Overall, we had a great stay.
This is a wonderful place to stay. House had room for all 12 people. Lots of space to spread out for all ages. House was clean and the property management team made things easy. Everything lived up to expectations. Thanks!
Came back to NC to celebrate my 85th birthday with family who live there......the house was clean except for downstairs there were wet towels and bucket in the driveway .....I was quite surprised to find paper products, cleaning products, and some kitchen staples in the cupboards as the listing said we had to supply our own.....we all enjoyed our stay very much.....it's not the the newest house in the neighborhood but it met all our needs......I'd go back again....Thank you for sharing your beach house with us.
We had an amazing week with our family at this property. It was perfect layout and so amazing that we could come back and forth from the beach to the house. We definitely want to stay again!
What a great house with driveways on both sides! Clear view of the beach, lots of outside living space! The layout of the house was just great. We'll be back!
We had an awesome experience! I want to thank the property owners for sharing this beautiful property! Great memories made with my family here. Hope to come back one day.

Great views
The view is hard to beat. Wish the beach access was actually to the beach and not half in the dunes and grass, but it was nice to not have any obstruction in front of us. The interior is a little musty and out of date but who goes to the beach to stay inside the whole time? The walls are paper thin but a good place overall
Everything was perfect for our family size of 11. Plenty of room. Location was awesome with ease of getting to the beach. Views of the ocean are priceless. Only five minutes from shopping. We will definitely come again.
The property itself was great but we got stuck down there during a hurricane so when electric went out my nephew who is wheelchair bound had no way of getting down the stairs. We ended up getting evacuated so my brothers had to carrying him and his wheelchair down 2 flights of stairs( he is 220 lbs) . We got to stay 2 days out of our 7 days. I have tried multiple times getting a hold of the rental company and they will not return phone calls or emails so we can get a refund or set another week up next year. A good business takes care of their customers. I know the weather is out of their hands but at least return calls. This costed my family a lot of money to just be throw aside. Other than that the place was great. I do feel like being handicap accessible there should be an alternative way to get down beside elevator in case of power outages.
We had a wonderful family reunion at Smith's. The home is spacious and comfortable. It's great to be on the 2nd row but not have any homes in front of you on the first. My only minor complaints are:
* Leading up to the stay I called the property managers with questions several times. I had to keep calling back because they said they'd call me back with the answers (after e.g. talking to homeowner) but never did.
* The private beach access isn't really private. Some of visitors at neighbor homes use it. This isn't a huge deal and I didn't want to go full Karen on anyone.
* There was a leak in the refrigerator with the ice/water dispenser. I informed the property manager but never heard back. We were unable to use the dispenser for the duration of our stay.
* The house doesn't have any beach equipment (umbrellas, chairs, toys, etc). These things can be rented but IMHO it makes more sense just to buy them due to how costly the rentals are.
* We had to bring our own blankets/comforters, which can take up a lot of space in a vehicle (puffy king-size comforter, for example).
