It's a lovely cottage, and we really enjoy the large size kitchen as well as the front porch. We're looking forward to coming back.

A gem of a cabin
SBLL11 is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Perched just feet from the shore of saddleback lake, it offers a stunning and peaceful view (especially at sunrise and sunset), privacy and quiet, and all the creature comforts you will need. We've stayed there for 3 summers and will be back next year

Point of View: the name says it all
This cabin, at the very edge of Saddleback Lake, is a gem. The spacious screen porch is an oasis from which you can sit and stare at the lake endlessly -- watching it change as the day advances. The cabin also has a spacious modern kitchen. Bedrooms are OK. The cabin can comfortably handle 3 or 4 people in the two downstairs bedroom. Also two single beds in loft. If you are looking for peace and quiet, and a stunning, meditative view of the lake, this is your place.

Special place
We stayed here for a week in July and had a wonderful time. There were only two of us so this house provided plenty of space but I think it would feel quite small with more than four people. The kitchen is well appointed and we cooked all week. They don't have a food processor but they do have a blender. The place has great views of the lake and we really appreciated that that renters cannot bring dogs because there are other units surrounding this property and in the in some summer places pets can be a real problem.

Wonderful week at Saddleback Lodge #11 (Point of View)
The accommodations were wonderful and the cabin was idyllic. The only issue was a leaky toilet and a broken toilet seat, which we reported. It's more like 4 1/2 stars than 4 stars. Thank you! :-)

Iconic Rangeley Cabin
I am reluctant to tell everyone how lovely this cabin is for fear that we will never be able to stay there again. The siting is incomparable, jutting out from a small point with water on three sides. Pictures have graced postcards, travel posters, and even the short video at the Outdoor Heritage Museum featured a glimpse of the cabin in the first five seconds. They literally cannot build them like this anymore. That said, you will hardly be roughing it, as it comes equipped with dishwasher, microwave, TV, DVD player, centrally controlled heat, fireplace, wifi. Similarly, there are many excellent updates, new windows, new doors, a bug-free screened porch with glass sliders in case the wind or rain intrude. But these don't alter the rustic character of the cabin, they just make it feel well-loved and livable. Why not five stars? Well, not everyone will appreciate the feng shui of the center of the cabin. One has to walk through a bedroom +/- bathroom to get from the spacious kitchen to the lovely living room and screened porch. This is easy to put up with but might cause some awkwardness among unrelated guests. The loft space is quite comfortable, though predictably requires the use of the multiple fans supplied during the warmest nights. An unexpected plus was being able to put in kayaks and/or swim a few steps from the screen porch. Due to their being no windows on the backside of the cabin, there was no "fishbowl" feeling and we felt like we had the lake to ourselves. One can unload behind the cabin but parking is a short walk -- more of a pleasure than a hardship really.
