Secluded Spacious Cottage with Mountain views 1 mile to Downtown
Enjoy central city amenities while feeling tucked away on a mountain top. Experience all of Asheville's arts and food, downtown and plenty more to be found within a 1 mile radius of this updated historic cottage.
Cozy and unique, the time you spend here will be part of your vacation instead of just a place to sleep! Be a part of the historic feel of the city in your very own 1800's cottage.
The wrap around porches are great for enjoying the mountain views and a cup of tea. The yard is expansive and includes a fire pit and propane grill. The hot tub is tucked away on the back deck where you can relax in privacy while still taking in the long range mountain views.
There are two main bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Each of the two bedrooms has its own door to the covered balcony overlooking the blue ridge mountains and surrounded by large trees.
There is a third bedroom but most often it is an extension of the primary because it is between the other two so you need to walk through one of the other rooms to enter and exit. Bedrooms are on the 2nd floor - accessed by the stairway or the street side entrance as the home is built into the mountain.
Two bathrooms, the one downstairs has a shower and the one on 2nd floor has a bathtub and shower.
There is plenty of space to spread out inside or outside the house.

Property was clean and felt like you was miles into the country. I do wish wifi was provided at the house but Verizon cell service was great so not a huge issue.

We have added WiFi! Glad to hear you enjoyed the space!
The house was so charming and beautiful and comfortable. You'd never know you were anywhere near a city, it was so quiet and relaxed (we saw a black bear on our way back after dinner one night), but it's only a mile away from the heart of downtown. The wraparound porch upstairs and the front porch were wonderful. Fireplace made the downstairs so comfortable and welcoming. I loved everything about this place.
Perfect place to view the beauty of the mountains surrounding Asheville, while still having access to all the downtown attractions. The home is old and quaint, with modern updates to kitchen and bathrooms. Nothing beats a morning coffee on the top deck overlooking the mountains. Will definitely book again if I find myself back in Asheville.
WE spent christmas with our son . He lives about 3 miles from where we stayed. It was our first experience in an air b and b but it surely won't be our last. We had a wonderful time and were
very comfortable in our little house.
Nice updated old house. Location is close to downtown but not really walking distance. Kind of difficult to find the first time .
Hostess was nice helpful, house well equipped - highly recommended.
We wish we could have stayed longer! This house was so quaint and wonderful, and the view off of the porches was amazing. All of the rooms in the house were decorated with such attention to detail and set off the old structure in a great way. The kitchen was stocked really well. We’d like to come back here again.
My mother, sister and I had a great stay. I don't recommend for older people with walking issues. Floors are uneven, but you have to remember this is a very old cottage. My mother had some trouble getting up and down stairs. She overcame by using her hands on steps going up and down. She did well and loved cottage. We would recommend but would state that it may not be suitable for older seniors.

girls weekend getaway
if you are looking for quiet out the city but only a mile drive to downtown Asheville, this is perfect. my friend and I just got back yesterday from our stay here and it was lovely.
We enjoyed our stay at Dogwood Bee! Loved the house, it was nicely decorated and had everything we needed for a long weekend in Ashville.
The porches were very relaxing with beautiful views of the garden and the mountains in the distance. The kitchen was modern and well appointed.
The location to everything in Asheville was so convenient. We were 10 minutes from downtown, a short drive to the Biltmore House, the Botanical Gardens, the Arboretum and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Tons of close by restaurants (Cornerstone was excellent for breakfast!)
Thanks for sharing your home!

Quaint but close to Downtown
This cottage is an absolute gem! Cute living spaces, lovely mountain views, and only a mile away from downtown Asheville. We stayed for the weekend and spent most of our time on one of the 2 porches enjoying the view.
We were blown away with how lucky we were to snag a booking like this last minute. My friends and I will be staying here again next time we are in Asheville.

About the host
Your host
I fill my time at home with pottery, painting and music and outside of that I can be found on the map somewhere between Texas and North Carolina. I have been hosting since 2010 and have made longtime friends and always enjoy sharing what’s special about the town and neighborhood with others. I keep my home open to guests because getting to experience the charm of a neighborhood and being a part of it as a local is the way I enjoy staying when I travel. I’m hoping to share my pottery on the experience side of the app soon. A lot of the pieces you see in my home were made by me and more and more it’s what I’m focused on when I’m not tending to the house.
Why they chose this property
They call this neighborhood "Historic Hideaway in the Hub of Asheville" It's nestled between Biltmore Village on the south side and downtown Asheville just a mile west.
