Cozy and fun!
We had a lovely time at Georgia’s Red Gate Cottage. We arrived to a plate of chocolate chip cookies, a bottle of wine, and a lovely note welcoming us to Asheville and giving us some helpful information! Georgia made everything so easy. The cottage is simply adorable.
We were close to downtown and getting an Uber or Lyft was super easy. The listing says the cottage sleeps up to 8, which would definitely be a tight fit. We were a group of 6 and it worked out perfectly! It was a great place to stay for a girls’ weekend! Would absolutely recommend and hope to come back in the future!
This was a great property and we hope to stay here again.
Cozy and delightful!
This was our first time vacationing in the Asheville area and what a gem we found! A charming cottage with a kind and helpful owner. When we checked in the owner had left a tray of homemade cookies and even a personalized biscuit for our dog. So thoughtful!
The location is perfect. We visited the Biltmore Estate, a local Botanical Garden, took a hike to a waterfall, and visited Mt. Mitchell. We spent time in downtown Asheville. So many great places to dine or shop. We took a ghost tour one evening in downtown and it was fun as well as historical.
We also had time to unwind in the lovely back yard complete with a hammock and fire pit. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and caught up on reading on the spacious deck.
Thanks Georgia for everything!
Lovely cottage, lovely grounds
Red Gate Cottage is lovely - a well-appointed stone- and beam-cottage that has everything needed for a short stay.
The grounds are also lovely, clearly the work of a talented gardener. We enjoyed the jacuzzi, but did not take advantage of the fire pit, mostly due to the rain during our stay. As a bonus due to the location of the house near deep woods, we got to see lots of wildlife. The location is a short (10-12 minute drive) to downtown. A comfy, welcoming place to serve as a base of operations for visiting Asheville.
Red Gate Cottage is located in scenic Beaverdam Valley, which meanders past the country club golf course en route to the spectacular high mountains of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Peaceful and quiet, the cottage is within 10 minutes of the center of Asheville with its many world class restaurants, year-round live entertainment, museums, art galleries, theaters, concert halls, and large exhibitions at the Civic Center. Asheville is an antique hunter’s paradise, and the River Arts District (more than 80 artists’ studios) produces some of the best art in America. Shoppers will love the boutiques and specialty shops. A 24-hour grocery store is only 5 minutes away, and there are many gourmet shops – the Greenlife Market is not to be missed! The NC University campus is just minutes away. Black Mountain is within 30 minutes, and Lake Lure, Chimney Rock Park and Wolf Laurel Ski Resort are all within 45 minutes. Mt. Mitchell, highest mountain in the Eastern U.S., is an hour’s drive up the Parkway.
