Got a refund and went to a better place.
We weren't notified that our rentals kitchen tap was broken and unusable before we arrived at 4:30pm to check in on a Sunday, even though the morning cleaners had informed them. We were offered a 50% discount on our stay. We went to check the premise and were trying to decide if we should stay or not, we were told "It wasn't such a big deal and you could just use a pan to take water from the bathroom sink to the kitchen". An opinion we had not asked for. And finally when we asked for a few minutes to decide, something along the lines of "It's Sunday and I would like to go home. Its probably best if you bring the keys back and get a full refund." This was all through a real estate agency.
She was right and even though it was Sunday and very difficult to find a place in that area, we went and found a beautiful, clean, cozy place with after hours customer service from reception that actually cared and were lovely, an hours drive away at the Blue Dolphin Resort. It was so much better, and we were thankful of the tap being broken so we could go to a better place.
We did receive a full refund and an apology for the place being generally dirty and run down.
