I am a firm believer in a way of life that puts home at the center. This philosophy is at the core of my hosting for HomeAway.
When I retired three years ago, I observed how residents and visitors of high-technology cities in Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area struggle with astronomic housing prices and apartment rentals. Together with my architect-husband, I remodeled and re-purposed rooms vacated by our two grown children for short-term rentals. To this, I recently added a one-bedroom condominium unit in the financial district of Metro Manila, where we vacation for a month and rent out the rest of the year.
My simple, fresh, and honest hosting style developed from my genuine interest in other people’s lived experiences and people skills acquired from doing anthropological field work. I offer my guests functional rooms designed to inspire and encourage them to own the space.
I was born in Manila but now reside in California. A happy retiree, gramma four times over, and dog mommy, I share the simple joys of life with Roli, my husband and best friend of 50-some years and my Jack Russell terrier/chihuahua dog, Moe. Piano playing soothes my soul, and being with my grandchildren dominates all other favorites.
