About this property

Spacious 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home on Thunderbird Lake, Cape Coral, Florida. Sleeps 8 people comfortably. Only damage from Hurricane Ian was the loss of 2 trees and the pool enclosure, which has already been rebuilt. No damage to house, boat, pool, etc. Everything still works great, including electricity, water, WIFI, etc.

COMPLETELY RENOVATED FOR 2020 SEASON!! New for 2020 is a 3rd bathroom, with all 3 bathrooms completely renovated. We are new owners, having purchased this home in April 2019, and completed extensive renovations for the 2020 season. See the 5 star reviews under our ownership. Reviews from 2019 and prior were under previous ownership.

Our home features a beautiful infinity pool which cascades in to a salt water lake. Your rental will include the use of a 21 foot hurricane power boat with 115HP outboard motor for fantastic adventures in the lake, canals, river, and Gulf of Mexico. Look for the playful dolphins chasing your wake, shy manatees, and unique Florida bird species as you enjoy the many canals and waterways. The required boat fee is stated as an extra under property fees. Full boat orientation will be provided. Boat rental in the area is around $1200, which makes the use of the boat a great value!

Cape Escape includes a large 65 inch flat screen Roku Smart TV with cable and a DVD player in the living room and another 55 inch flat screen Roku Smart TV with cable in the game room. Each of the 4 bedrooms includes a 43 inch flat screen smart TV with cable. One of the TVs includes a wireless cable box that we can be moved to the outside shelf on the lanai to view from the patio or pool. Wireless broadband internet access is also provided. The kitchen is equipped with the usual kitchen appliances, dishwasher microwave, coffee pot, and Keurig. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee while you watch the sun rise over Thunderbird Lake. Ceiling fans and central air-conditioning throughout offer a comfortable reprieve from the sun. The master suite features a huge en-suite bathroom with a huge walk in shower, double sinks, separate toilet room, and a built-in closet. Sliding doors to the lanai provide a beautiful view of the pool and lake and offer easy access to the pool for a morning swim. High chair, linens, and bath/pool towels are provided.

Our new game room features an 8 foot slate pool table, along with a ping pong topper. Imagine enjoying a friendly game while overlooking the infinity pool and lake! If pool or ping pong is not your game we have a Wii console to test your skills in the video game variety. Newest addition to the game room is a 60 in 1 multicade arcade machine that plays all of your favorite arcade classics from the 80s, including Ms Pacman, Galaga, and Donkey Kong.

If the powerboat is not your speed, we also have added 4 stand up paddleboards for your use. The lakefront location is the most ideal place in Cape Coral for paddleboarding.

my birthday party

time with my family is the thing I cherish the most. my daughter chose a place that was warm, had a boat and had a pool. we ate outside, swam from morning til night. we did two long days on the boat and saw dolphins and manatees as well as many birds. the kitchen is large and there were plenty of beds and bathrooms. the owner was responsive and helpful

Tranquil and beautiful location

Just an overall wonderful home! Loved watching the fish jump in the evening and was able to enjoy the pool everyday. The house is quite spacious! Very nice layout and lots of windows overlooking the pool and water, which was so relaxing. The neighborhood is also very quiet, which was ideal for us. Would definitely love to stay again some time!

Great family get away

This place is amazing! Clean, comfortable, and lots of extras. Plenty of space to spread out, lots of games, tv’s, and a warm pool. Highly recomend.

Since our kids were small, we have vacationed regularly with our extended family and immediately realized that a vacation rental offers many more benefits than a typical hotel. The privacy, space, and even the convenience of cooking a meal or doing laundry, are all benefits of vacationing at a home. Since then, we have stayed in numerous vacation rental properties and appreciate a well equipped rental with ample space and access to amenities like a pool and lake.

In 2004, we purchased our first rental home in South Haven, Michigan. At the time, we were a family of 4 with a newborn and a one-year-old. The town was so beautiful and kid friendly that we knew we wanted to come back over and over. Since we are originally from Illinois and now live in the middle of the mitten, South Haven was a perfect meeting place for our family gatherings. We fell in love so quickly with the town that we purchased a 3 bedroom house in South Haven in November of that year. We labored all winter and completely renovated the house into a 6 bedroom vacation home designed for family reunions. A year later, we purchased the house next door, and have been welcoming families ever since.

In 2019 we expanded beyond Michigan by adding our Cape Escape home in Cape Coral Florida. The newest addition is a mountain home in Sevierville TN with unparalleled views of the Smoky Mountains.

Over the years as our family and kids have grown, we have made many memories in our vacation homes and hope that our guests will have as much fun as we have!

Why they chose this property

In 2016, we rented Cape Escape to spend time with family over the Thanksgiving holiday and escape from the cold winter in Michigan. On the day of our boat orientation, we saw a manatee from our dock. Later that week dolphins chased our boat as we motored around the canals. Needless to say, we couldn't wait to come back! For the next 2 years, we returned to Cape Escape every November, and each time we left feeling relaxed and looking forward to our next trip. When the opportunity to purchase the property become available to us, we knew it was meant to be. The beauty of the area, the laid back style, and the warm climate made this a perfect location for our next rental home.

From the infinity pool to the proximity of wildlife on Thunderbird Lake, this home offers a welcome reprieve from the stress of daily life. It is our escape.

What makes this property unique

The location of Cape Escape is one of its most unique qualities. Being located on a salt water lake offers beautiful views, privacy, and wildlife encounters. Cape Coral also has many wonderful restaurants many of which can be reached by boat. Finally, Cape Coral is only a few hours drive from many attractions including airboat rides through the Everglades or a trip to Busch Gardens. You can even catch the Key West Express and spend the day in the historic Key West.
