Westwind #502 is an interior gulf-front 1 bedroom 1 bath custom decorated condominium located on the 5th floor overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The unit is approximately 700 sq ft with views of the gulf from the living room. The condo has hallway bunks and a fully equipped kitchen with all Frigidaire Gallery Stainless Steel appliances and Samsung front-load washer and dryer. There is one full bath with a tub/shower combo. The master bedroom is located on the north side of the condo. King, hall bunks, sofa sleeper. Sleeps 6

Westwind is a 9-story building with 4 units per floor located 1 mile West of Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. Westwind has an outdoor pool and grilling area. Westwind has an outdoor pool and grilling area. The building has new exterior paint colors and new windows and sliding glass doors.

Good Trip

Good trip for a vacation with our family of three. Our daughter liked the bunk beds, the pool, and looking for ghost crabs at night on rhe beach. We liked the condo and Gulf Shores Rental did a wonderful job with everything from the listing to the booking to check-in and even checkout was easy. We would stay again.

The property looked as described. I loved the view of the beach and the water. The bathroom needed some TLC… hair from previous stay was clogged up in the tub. The tub also needed to be cleaned… and the quality of the paper products weren’t good.

Fireworks on the Beach

This is our 2nd year to stay in this area during the 4th. The fireworks from the pier are spectacular. We have now visited Gulf Shores five times. The location of the condo is our favorite. We have stayed at the Westwind three of the five times we have visited. We will stay again. One suggestion I would have is to provide an umbrella or a couple of beach chairs for those that are traveling from locations that do not have the use for them. We did use Ike's chair service but did not get a choice spot and would have loved to save the money for possibly extending our visit. However, we will return to this location.

Location was great and access to the beach was awesome. Price was reasonable and check-in/out was super easy (condo was even ready early for us which was great). Condo wasn’t not clean, but there were definitely some easy things that would have improved our impression (shower drain hardly drained - we were hard pressed to take any sort of shower without water accumulating in the bottom therefore sand, dirt, etc. also built up; mildew/moldy looking substance in rim of water/ice dispenser on fridge; mildew/moldy looking substance on rim of washer). Overall we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the amenities that were offered but having those things clean/working would have improved our stay.

The unit was dirty.

We had to wash all sheets and blankets. The sheets were visibly dirty. One blanket had a blood stain on it. The floors were dirty. Bathroom too small for 2 adults and teenage children.

Our sincere apologies for the unsatisfactory cleanliness of the condo. Anytime you arrive to one of our properties please notify us immediately where we have the chance to correct the problem. As you can see from the reviews we get from VRBO as well as other 3rd party booking agents about this unit, they are all 4 and 5 stars. We appreciate all reviews as this aids us in making the condo as guest friendly as we can. Unfortunately, Westwind is an older property and making the bathroom larger is not an option. I do know the bathroom as well as the entire unit has been remodeled from top to bottom featuring stainless appliances , freshly painted walls and ceilings throughout. The owner even bought all new furniture, accessories and bedding for the entire unit. Even the balcony furniture is commercial grade with aluminium framing that will not rust for this climate. Again we apologize and hope to see you again in the future.
