'The Lakefront Lodge' - Spacious Lakefront 3 Bedroom W/ Private Covered Dock
Please Note: Our house is in a peaceful cove in the Big Creek area of Norris Lake. It is perfect for families and friends looking to have a fun and relaxing vacation. If you are a college group or group of loud, partying adults we suggest you look for other properties around Norris Lake.
This spacious lakefront log home is perfect for your family get-away. The 2800 sf cabin sleeps 12 and features two large family rooms with plenty of space to play games, watch movies, and spend quality time together. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths and features lots of windows to view the blue-green waters of beautiful Norris Lake from almost any room in the house. The location on the water is in the highly desirable and secluded Big Creek area of Norris Lake perfectly situated between Whitman Hollow and Sequoyah Marinas. The Lakefront Lodge features stainless steel appliances, fully equipped kitchen, 50 lb per day ice maker, large bedrooms, family room w/foosball, and first-level living room. Access the two-level spacious decking overlooking Norris lake through either the living room or family room. It is minutes away from Whitman Hollow, Sequoyah Marina, and Shanghai Resort. Don't worry about the security of your boat trailer at a boat launch since there is plenty of on-site parking for boat trailers and vehicles.
This 2800 square foot home sleeps 12 and has 3 levels with lots of windows:
The top has 1 master bedroom with king bed, full sleeper sofa and full bath with jacuzzi tub.
The middle (main) has a living room, kitchen, dining room with table seating for 8 plus 2 more at the kitchen counter and 1/2 bath. The spacious living room offers a 65” TV and two full size leather reclining couches, leather recliner, and bay window for additional seating.
The lower has 2 bedrooms. One with a Queen bed and a set of bunk beds and the other has full over full bunk beds. Between the bedrooms is a full bath with washer and dryer. The lower level has a family room with LED TV and foosball table which leads out to a large deck overlooking beautiful Norris Lake.
Outside, enjoy gathering with family & friends while grilling out on the gas grill or playing corn hole. There is plenty of eating & gathering space outside on the lower deck, or enjoy eating at the upper level 'high-top' area while overlooking the water. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee on the porch swing with just the sounds of nature on this secluded part of the lake. During the day, spend time boating on the clear, glass-like water of Big Creek or just relax and have fun swimming or hanging out at the private covered dock with giant swim platform and picnic tables...in the back of a quiet deep-water cove, there's no need to worry about wake from boats cruising by at high speed. Float in the lake or take the paddle boat or 4 provided kayaks out for a cruise and look for many of the turtles, heron, or beavers that live in the cove. Fishing off a paddle boat is great too - it gives you access to many more spots on the water than you could fit a boat. In the evenings, enjoy eating S'mores around the campfire at the large fire pit.
Take the steps or walk the concrete path using the available pull-cart down to the Private dock with 28' deep covered single slip, swim platform, waterslide, & gangway with rail built in 2025. This swim platform has multiple picnic tables and seating for relaxing and fishing in the back of the cove. You may want to spend all day just at the dock with our recently installed grill, patio cooler and water slide. Our dock has composite decking so no need to worry about splinters in little feet. Please note: like almost every house at Norris Lake, there are steps to the water…about 120 in total. Taking the path will only leave 25-35 steps depending on the water level.
We do ask all guests to wet-sign a copy of our rental agreement subsequent to booking.

This place is in a great location-close to marinas, yet tucked back in a quiet cove. The cabin has pretty much anything you could want/need. The new dock is awesome! We will definitely stay again in the future!!

We look forward to having you as a guest again soon and we agree...it's a great place for families. Our kids start to look forward to the next trip with their friends about the time we head back from the previous trip!
Beautiful house and a great stay. But the real highlight is the dock and crystal clear water of Norris Lake. We had a great time. Steps are steep but certainly doable.
Great location! House was clean and felt like home away from home. Kitchen is more than accommodating to prepare meals all week. The layout of the house was perfect for our large family. We enjoyed the entire week on the beautiful water and at the house!
The property is right on the water with a wonderful covered dock to hang out at the lake. It is in a great location and close by everything we like to do. The house is awesome with a really good layout and a nicely stocked kitchen for those times when you want to cook meals. Highly recommend!
This was our third year to Norris Lake and just one more reason to keep coming back. Property was just as listed and was nice being in a no wake cove. Easy access to launch boat 16 min away and plenty of room for vehicles and trailer. Thanks again for allowing us to stay in your home.

Great house for weekend get away!
Great outdoor space! Loved the large decks and dock area. House is tucked back in a deep water cove away from boat traffic. Great for swimming after a day on the water. Inside is spacious and has plenty of room for a large group. No internet or cable would be my only knock on this place.

We're glad our property fit your needs and would love to have you back again. Although due to our rural location, internet service is limited we recently installed ViaSat Satellite-based internet. While not equivalent to cable, fiber optic, or DSL, this internet service should allow web browsing, email, text at a minimum.
Wonderful place to stay! The house was perfect for our family. It was spotless and had all the comforts of home. The water is so clean and blue. When we first arrived a major storm had passed thru leaving us with no power. I reached out to the owner and within minutes had an update from him on when the power would be back on. Great communication!! Would definitely stay here again!
We had an amazing week at your home. The quiet cove and all the amenities at the dock were amazing. The kids really enjoyed the basketball hoop!
We found the home to be as described and more. You have done a great job equipping your home for a great stay at the lake.
Thank you for sharing it with us!

Thank you for your review - we’ve worked hard to furnish the house with items to make everyone’s visit enjoyable. We are so happy to hear you had a fantastic vacation and hope to have you back again soon!
We had a great stay. The house was very clean. The kids had a great time at the dock swimming and fishing and paddle boarding. The cove was extremely quiet (just what we were looking for). The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed for dinner each night. Cell service was spotty and the WiFi wasn’t perfect but we were still able to communicate if had to. 5 stars from us!

Thanks for staying at our home and we are so glad you had a wonderful time! We hope to have you back in the future. Fingers crossed we’ll get Starlink internet soon- it will be a game changer :)
Very nice stay at Lakefront Lodge. Location of property on cove was perfect to be away from the boat traffic but still easy to get to most locations on the water. Dock area was very nice to hang out and swim. Property is as described and very clean. Owners were very responsive to very minor issues we had and great to work with. Only downside specifically for our family with children was there are a lot of steps (100+) down to the water from the house with no railing for most of the way. Even the walk path down is quite steep. This is common for this area but good to be aware of this in advance.
Great house. It has a decent amount of steps to get down to the water, but if you minimize trips, it’s definitely doable. There is a ramp that you can walk things down with the provided carts, but it is still fairly steep. The listing states there is no WiFi, but it has been recently outfitted and worked well for everyone that was in the house. Most things that we needed in the kitchen were supplied as far as cooking utensils. The dock was very nice and the kids had a blast sliding down the water slide. Overall it was a very nice house with plenty of room.

Everything exactly as advertised
Nick and his family keep a well maintained and clean house. Plenty of room for 13 "late 20/early 30" year olds. Fully stocked kitchen with enough space to cook and eat a big meal, and a nice deck with tables and chairs overlooking the cove.
The cove is a "no wake" cove, so your boat doesn't get rocked all day. He had just added a brand new, very nice section to the dock.
The only downside to this (and I'm not going to hold it against the owners) is there is zero cell service unless you go up to the street by the mailbox or get out on the lake. But isn't that what vacation is for? Disconnecting from the real world.
I would definitely stay here again.

We'd love to have you back again! Since internet service is limited we're looking to invest in a cell phone signal booster to increase service significantly inside the house as well...although, you're right - sometimes the nice part about going to the lake is being able to 'disconnect'!

Nice with flaws
I thought the house itself was very nice, I did have issues with no towels being provided, nor were there any floor mats in the bathrooms. We basically had nothing to use. Also the ceiling fan was not working properly in the loft/master bedroom, so we had to turn it off, which made the master bedroom very hot, and my husband couldn't sleep there. Also, there are LOTS of spiders taking up residence. Three stars is generous for that stay.

Thank you for your feedback; I’m sorry to hear your stay was considered less than 5-star. As described in our listing, our house was rented through Mary Lamb Property Management during 2015. Although we utilized a property manager instead of VRBO we did ask for feedback from our guests in our visitor packet at the house. Over the course of 14 guests last summer, your concerns are the first that were raised – other than a request to have another cutting board large enough to cut a large watermelon (fixed) and not being able to stay long enough!
To address your concerns, you are correct that we do not provide bath towels. Although Mary’s contract did state “Bring Your Own Bath Towels,” I apologize if that was not clearly conveyed to you by Mary Lamb last year. However, since we’ve started with VRBO, both our contract and information packet with suggested items to bring clearly state bath towels are not provided so there will be no confusion. This approach is consistent with every property we rented at Norris Lake for 15 years (including 2 years renting houses managed by Mary Lamb) prior to purchasing and renting our property.
The ceiling fan did operate (controlled via separate switch or via pull at the fan) all last year and we slept under it many nights. However it was brass, old, and not as quiet as new models. In our continued effort to update the property, the fan has since been replaced this winter with a new model that better fits the room decor.
I’m sorry to hear about the spiders. We’ve never noticed them inside, however the cabin is regularly sprayed to protect it from insects - including those that would damage the logs. Please remember that the house is a cabin in a heavily wooded and largely undeveloped part of the lake and thus, surrounded by nature. We think it’s far better than being in the city since there are so many more stars to see at night around the campfire!
Again, I’m sorry to hear your stay was not as expected. We do everything we can to try and make our home as comfortable as possible for your vacation with family and friends.

Fantastic vacation!
This vacation was awesome. Would highly recommend this home! The house was beautiful, views were awesome. House was prepared with everything you need for a week (or longer) stay; appliances, dishes, pots pans, bed linens etc. all very organized. We loved the nice touches like the night lights in the bed rooms. By far exceeded our expectations! Two families totaling 4 adults and 4 children ages 1-9 and we had more than enough space. We swam off the dock in clear water at the end of a cove. Views from upper and lower decks were beautiful. Upper deck has ample seating and a porch swing for relaxation. We spent mornings and nights enjoying coffee and the view. It's obvious the owners take pride in this home and go out of their way to make the stay pleasant. Nick was easy to work with and booking was easy. Very prompt to all communication. To combat the issue of the number of steps (which was disclosed in the beginning of communications) the owner has built a concrete path and provides wagons to haul your gear. Again very thoughtful. That made it easier! Upon our boat rides we noticed 99% of the lakeside properties have steep steps so it's to be expected in this part of the country. Consider it a great way to get your exercise in. Just plan accordingly. Would rate this a 6/5 have no complaints! Thanks Braun family for sharing your beautiful house. We didn't want to leave at the end of the week!

Beautiful lakefront home - HIGHLY recommended
This property is amazing. Our family stayed here and had a wonderful trip. Here is a breakdown of our experience. INSIDE: House was very clean. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was stocked with every item we needed. The interior log cabin decor was simple and tasteful. We loved the walkout basement! The large amount of windows on the back of the house allowed us to enjoy the views. OUTSIDE: Oh the views! The wrap around deck with views of the lake was amazing. We spent every morning drinking coffee, sitting in the porch swing looking at the lake. There are concrete steps and a concrete path down to the water. The dock itself is beautiful. We used the picnic table every day for lunch. The cove is private and quiet. We had no issues swimming off the dock every day we were there. A lot of the neighbors actually live there, so make sure to be thoughtful and not ski/tube out of the cove!
I was surprised to read the review about towels - it's pretty standard to bring your own towels when renting at Norris. The description was also clear that you were to provide your own towels. I prefer that anyway. The basement bathroom has a washer dryer too if needed.
Overall, this is the best rental I've stayed at when visiting Norris Lake. The owner was super responsive and very easy to work with throughout the process. The price was great and the house/location was amazing. I'd highly recommend. We plan to book here agin next year.

We're glad you had a great time and hope to have you again next year!
Very enjoyable stay. Very well furnished. Had everything we needed. Beautiful setting. Owners were always there when we needed an answer for a question. Only disappointment was the amount of steps to & from the dock. Quite a height difference from cabin to dock.
lake Norris is absolutely beautiful! The dock was awesome for relaxing all day fun! The hill climb and decent can be a struggle, it’s NOT for elderly people. But that’s the norm for the entire area.
Tucked away gem! This place is amazing. Absolutely perfect cabin for a multi-family vacation. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thanks Nick! We’ll be back.
We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The house was gorgeous and had plenty of room for all of us to spread out. The views from the covered porch were amazing, and even though hurricane Ida swept through during our time there, we enjoyed looking at the lake from the porch.Words really can’t describe how wonderful the dock area is. So much thought and care was put into constructing it, and we spent many happy hours on it. There was a wonderful place to dock our boat, in a covered slip, and we felt right at home. Thank you Nick for your communication and for how wonderful you have made this little slice of heaven.

Thank you for staying and for your review! We really try to provide as many features as we can to make our guests stay as enjoyable as possible and agree with you…hanging at the dock is as much fun as being out on the water. We’d love to have you back again in the future.
The house was great. Wonderful location on a beautiful cove. It was perfect for our little kids to swim in. This is one of the nicest docks I’ve seen. The use of the kayaks and paddle boats were a great perk! We had plenty of space for 10 people from 2 families. The steps are a lot as with most Norris homes….. if you’re not in half way decent shape you might not be able to handle them but we managed it! The path and steps are sturdy. A couple negatives : one- the beds aren’t very comfy, could use mattress upgrades- two- no towels provided. Every vrbo house I’ve stayed in has provided bath towels and hand towels so that was missed. We were made aware of this fact ahead of the time so it wasn’t a huge deal. We had some trouble getting connected to the wifi but Nick was quick to respond and help me get everyone connected! We had decent service and were even able to stream some. All in all it was a great trip and we would book this house again!

Thank you for your review…we’d love to have you back again…fingers crossed next time with starlink internet. I’ll get with you separately about which beds you found to be uncomfortable and why. Mattresses can be very subjective so we’ve tried to vary the firmness level within the bedrooms so there’s a range of options. For instance, the upstairs king mattress is a pillow top while the downstairs queen is more firm. Providing towels does vary between hosts as well but we figured it was best to clearly state they were not provided to avoid having an insufficient amount of towels at arrival. As noted in our information packet, we do provide kitchen towels and dish rags.
Thanks again for being terrific guests and we’d love to have you again!
Everything was accurate in the description. A lot of room and with 3 levels it was easy to get quiet time if needed. The additional ice maker was an awesome bonus and saved trips to the store, I wish more people had these! Communication was great with the owner and was in contact during our stay. Thank you and hope to be back!
When looking for a place to stay when we are at Norris lake I look for properties with covered boat slips and also houses that are in a cove away from rougher water so the boat isn’t banging around in the slip. This property provides this plus much more. The ice makers was another plus to this property. You don’t need to run to the store or marina every morning to ice up the cooler. Overall we had and excellent stay. The owners were great to work with also.
The property was beautiful and well equipped. Definitely remote, as described. Limited to no cell/internet service which we were expecting and would have been fine except we had an unexpected emergency and even the landline was not working. Luckily, we didn’t need the landline to call for EMS, but I couldn’t help but think what if it had been a life threatening situation with one of our kids. The emergency was caused by an unsafe condition on the property (gravel path laid at the top of a hill). Unfortunately, we had to cut the vacation short and have incurred thousands of dollars in medical bills. The owner was sympathetic, expressed genuine concern, and followed up the week after the vacation to see how the injured individual was doing (very much appreciated) and how the injury occurred so they could hopefully prevent it from happening to anyone else (very responsible). However, I just can’t in good conscience recommend this property to families.

About the host
Hosted by Nick Braun
We live in Dayton, OH and have rented houses and floating houses at Norris Lake with family and friends for approximately 15 years. We purchased this cabin in 2014 and have worked hard to furnish with amenities we looked for as renters. I think you'll find the Lakefront Lodge fully furnished with everything you'll need for a great vacation. We know your family and friends will enjoy being at the Lake Front Lodge as much as we do - it's perfect for that relaxing get-away.
Why they chose this property
The Lake Front lodge is in the perfect location on Big Creek. After many years renting near Springs and Flat Hollow, we tried the Big Creek area and fell in love. Big Creek has it all...calm water for watersports, great fishing, and close enough to the large marinas for nightlife. If you're looking for relaxation, we enjoy sitting on the back porch swing looking out over the cove - it's perfect!
What makes this property unique
After looking at many homes for several years, we fell in love with the Lake Front Lodge due to the large kitchen and family rooms for gatherings. When vacationing in the mountains, staying in a log cabin adds to the vacation experience.
