About this property

Authentic seasonal 1950’s Adirondack live edge /knotty Pine waterfront cabin.

Our quaint seasonal cabin is located in the quieter northern part of the lake, in the town of Hague. This is up and over Tongue mountain, 20 minutes north of Bolton Landing, or 40+ minutes north by car from Lake George Village. There is less boat traffic and less water chop in our part of the lake. The northern part of the lake tends to attract people who really just want to relax and enjoy good times with their families. There are no bars or clubs in this area. Just beautiful nature and fresh air.

After searching for 5 years, we chose our cabin because of the beautiful waterfront property, with 100 feet of lake frontage where we can dive into crystal clear water that is approximately 5 feet deep at the end of the dock. We love that it is not mucky, or rocky as it is a sandy bottom.

The lake water is most lakefront owners’ drinking water supply. That’s how clean Lake George is!! The water comes into the house and is double filtered before it gets into the house. The kitchen sink has a third filter.

Because many homes on the lake use this lake water for their water supply (for drinking and showering etc.), everyone must cooperate by being extremely mindful not to use any chemicals that hurt the quality of the water, and always put trash in receptacles.

Our yard is a fairly flat , private quarter acre lot, on a paved town road, so there is no problem getting from house, or driveway to the yard or dock. Easy for everyone young and old. *** Exercise caution after rainy days since sometimes the dock and cabin deck wood planks can be slippery. There is a hose outside that can be used for rinsing off feet and also metal tubs will be provided by stairs going into the house.

(On the outside of this original 1950s cabin, it is currently very worn looking and slated for a paint job and etc. Scheduled to be update for 2023 summer.)

But don’t judge a book by its cover. The inside is clean and charming and has been renovated. The inside of the cabin has a modern kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge/ freezer, microwave, oven and stove. There is also a coffee maker and toaster oven. The kitchen window boasts a tremendous view of the lake and the backyard. It’s nice to be able to watch your family playing while you make meals.

Although the kitchen is small, we make dinners for a dozen people every weekend. It works out great. Small means easier to clean up and enjoy the outdoors!! You will appreciate the ease and simplicity. There is a second fridge/freezer in the screened in porch. You are on vacation! At a lake!! Unless its raining, you won’t be inside until bedtime. Or game night. There are several games left for groups to play.

The dinner table seats six. There is also a set of wooden TV trays for extra indoor eating by the couch/futon. On the deck there is a table as well next to the bbq. All inside furniture and new mattresses purchased in 2018 during our first summer there.

The cabin has three bedrooms with closets and drawers and window a/c units.

The first one we call the master. It has a beautiful authentic brand new queen log style bed with 6 drawers underneath to save room space.

The second bedroom has a new “full over full” bunk bed and the stairs going up to the top bunk are a set of drawers. Plus there is a twin trundle hidden under the bottom bed. From the back of this room , you will access the third bedroom.

The third bedroom has two sets of twin bunk beds. Under the new bunkbed is a set of drawers. This room accommodates sleeping for 4. To get into the family space from this room, you have to walk through the second bedroom.

The family room couch is a futon that is a full. There is also a futon chair w ottoman that folds into a twin. In total the cabin can sleep 10+.

The family room and dinner table (and kitchen) all look out to the lake. None of the bedrooms have a lake view. All of the bedrooms have new white blinds to block the morning light. The ceiling of all the rooms and the tops of the walls are white shiplap. The bottom part of the walls are original knotty pine.

There is WiFi in the cabin. We encourage the use our time at the cabin to unplug, play games, and be outdoors as much as possible, but hey, we live in the 21st century.

The yard has a fire pit by the water’s edge. There is also a tetherball in the backyard. We have other lawn games like volley ball and corn hole for your enjoyment. They will be left for you to use and found inside the screened porch. There is a plastic folding dining table inside the porch that can be used for arts and crafts or anything messy that should not be done inside the cabin. Feel free to use it on the lawn as well. Please return all games, toys and table where they were found. There are extra table cloths inside the cabin found in the cabinet labeled" table cloths." You are welcome to use the spices left in cabinet, as well as paper goods, and firewood left for you upon arrival. Cleaning products are there for you to use as well.

The adorable little town of Hague is just a mile away. There you will find a small grocery store with gourmet groceries, homemade cookies and pies and also a sandwich bar for made to order breakfast and lunch. The Firehouse is set up this year, as a bar only. They have food trucks parked alongside the entrance. Every Wednesday night there is live music at The Hague Beach with food trucks.

Above this grocery store is a fabulous gift shop.

There is also a Post Office and a real estate office, as well as the town Hall down the road. If you like hiking, you are very close to many trails including Jabe pond. Also you are very close to Silver Bay YMCA.

For all other supplies, laundering services, more restaurants, and a Walmart, people will head to the next town north, Ticonderoga. This is a 15 minute drive north. In between the two areas, you will find campgrounds and a boat launch down the road.

If you plan on bringing your JetSki or boat for your stay, this is where you would have to have it inspected before you can launch it into Lake George.

For an additional fee, or if discussed w us what you think you will need, we can pull some of our watercraft so that you may dock or moor yours, during your stay at our cabin. Please ask about this if interested..

Although the cabin does have a beautiful stone fireplace, it is NOT OPERATIONAL during your stay. It has been capped on the roof. We do not allow smoking and we do not allow pets.

Summer 23
We've been renting homes on lake George for years and this one was special. Views are spectacular. Great for kids, smaller cabin so they can't get into to much but plenty of space/storage for your items/luggage. Host was fantastic, answered any questions quickly and really worked w you to make sure your stay is just what you want. Hague is great town, has some parks, a beach that's great to relax. Nice general store and market to grab food, drinks. The location of this home is great really. It's has everything you need, you can do just about whatever activity your thinking of and the host is wonderful to work with. Looking fwd to stay here again someday.

Great Location!
My wife and I were looking for a place on the lake to take our kids (5 and 8) for a week and this house hit the mark. It is right on the lake (kids enjoyed being able to get right in the water off the dock) and in a relatively quiet area. We were generally only in the house when sleeping or having dinner. The cabinets were all labeled (helpful when cooking) and the owner was very responsive to any questions. The house can easily sleep 10+, but larger groups should keep in mind that this is a 50's cabin with only 1 bathroom. Additionally, for anyone with toddlers please note there is no tub (just a shower stall). Overall - Cannot beat the location, the owner is very responsive, and the house was exactly as described in the listing.

Perfect cabin getaway
Few places compare to the tranquility of Northern Lake George and the cabin captures this perfectly. Five adults and a toddler comfortably fit and the backyard/water access was great. We plan to make this an annual stay for my family. Jodee is an amazing host, prepping the cabin for our week and making herself available for anything we needed. Thank you for sharing your little slice of paradise with us!

About the host

We are a busy family with 3 busy kids. We fell in love with Lake George and searched for 5 years to find the perfect getaway. With limited vacation time, we wanted a place that was close enough to home that we would drive there every weekend possible to use it. We found that time moves slowly on the lake, and 24 hours there is completely restorative to the soul.

Why they chose this property

We chose it because it checked all the boxes. Flat property, easy access. Perfect views. Perfect water. Great dock, great location. Not crowded like in the Southern part of the lake. We wanted to be able to watch our kids in the water from inside the house. Although it isn't big or fancy, it never gets old and we continuously feel blessed by the beauty and tranquility of our little cabin on Lake George.

What makes this property unique

The views are unparalleled!! Wake up to pink sunrises, and drink your coffee and be transformed.
