Wailea Ekahi Village 50E - Relaxing Ocean and Mountain Views

Welcome to Wailea Ekahi 50E, our deluxe condo for two.


We are on the 2nd (top) floor with beautiful ocean and garden views and wonderful tropical breezes. In addition, there are ceiling fans throughout the unit.

The large living room-dining room is beautifully furnished in Tommy Bahama style and adjoins the double length lanai- with access from both the living room and master suite. Both the living room and master suite have flat screen TVs and the living room also has a DVD player.

Our lanai has the best of both worlds: private garden views and good views of both the West Maui Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The lanai is the perfect spot for outdoor dining at all hours of the day, and is also great for relaxing on the 2 chaise lounges.

The large master suite has a king bed- lots of dresser space and a desk. There is an adjoining dressing room and bathroom with a glass block step-in shower. The guest bath also has a large dressing area and a combination tub-shower with rain glass sliding doors.

The renovated kitchen is fully equipped and has all of your cooking needs.

Not only does 50E offer easy access to Keawakapu Beach and Wailea’s beachfront boardwalk, you can also walk to the Shops of Wailea in an easy 10 minutes (half a mile). The Shops at Wailea have everything from casual dining to high-end steak houses and tropical restaurants. Additionally, The Shops offer convenience stores.

The owner of this unit responded quickly to any questions or E-Mails we had. The unit was well located within the project and had a partial view of the ocean. The unit was also quiet with no street noise. The unit was very clean on arrival. On the really hot days the bedroom was a little warm for sleeping so air conditioning would have helped. Overall the unit was very functional and well furnished but will require some modest changes in the future ,for example--new appliances and bathroom changes.

We have stayed in Ekahi Village several times but this was our first time in this unit. We had expected a similar level of service and accommodations as we experienced previously as the cost was comparable but we were disappointed. The positives of this unit are a large lanai, an excellent view, and some interior updating but the negatives outweigh the positives. During our stay we experienced hot weather but no trade winds. The unit is close to the main road and does not have air conditioning so we had a choice of road noise or heat during the night. Based on prior stays we expected to be supplied with Tommy Bahama beach chairs and umbrella however we had to purchase these for ourselves. The master king bed was old and so hard we also had to purchase a topper. The owner made no offer to compensate us for these purchases even though we donated them to the condo. We also had to purchase damage insurance from VRBO (small but seems like a rip-off by VRBO) even though we gave a damage deposit. We also had to pay a cleaning fee in advance and the unit interior was clean however I don’t think the bar-b-q had ever been cleaned.

While we appreciate your point of view, we’d like to point out the unit description is honest and at no point were we misleading in stating beach equipment or AC are available in our unit. When you reached out, it was our understanding your wife had a medical condition which required you to purchase a mattress topper. While we try to include as many accommodations as possible, unfortunately we can not account for every individual’s needs. The VRBO damage insurance is to protect both our unit and you, the renter, in case anything would have gone wrong. As you are looking at other units, you will see this is quite common, as are cleaning fees.

An Amazing Property and Host

We stayed here for a friend’s wedding. The unit has everything you need, including a full kitchen, washer and dryer and beach amenities. Any issue we had was quickly resolved and communication with the host was quick and easy. The ocean view and the view is the grounds from the balcony is stunning. We cannot wait to return and we highly recommend this unit.

Beautiful condo

Beautiful condo with lots of room. Two full baths, each with huge dressing areas. Huge lanai. The only problem was there was no air conditioning. We went in early June, temps usually 85 and in the 70's at night. Since it's on the second level we were able to keep the sliding door open at night.

Clean, comfortable with great patio

My husband and I have stayed at Ekahi many times over the years. This unit is a little further up the hill but we appreciate the walk to and from the beach. The unit was clean and comfortable and we loved the views of the ocean and beautiful landscaping from the lanai. There is no A/C (as the owners have noted) but the breeze ran through the many screened doors and windows throughout which kept us comfortable. We stayed in March/April so it could be warmer during the summer months. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful location!

We loved the grounds, the landscaping is so tropical and absolutely clean. We enjoyed the smaller Quiet pool that was nearby. The main pool and the beach were a bit of a hike so we just drove down to that area. Occasionally it got a bit hot in the condo. Some type of air conditioner would be a good addition but overall it was amazing and I definitely want to stay there again when we go back to Maui.

Great condo a short walk from the beach

Had a great stay at this condo. It’s spacious and the lanai was lovely. Good supply of kitchen equipment and basics. Decor is dated but fine. It’s definitely a bit of a walk to the beach. The lawn outside is not easily accessed from the condo. We had a few small issues while there to which the hosts were not quickly responsive. Had they been big issues that could have been a problem. As mentioned in the listing, no air conditioning but the fans did the job during our visit. We would stay here again.

Wonderful stay at Ekahi

We found the condo clean and as advertised. It is located in the upper end of the property further away from the beach and larger pool, but both at an easily walkable distance, though uphill coming back from the beach. Beautiful landscaping and view from the lanai. The unit is close to one of the smaller quieter pools. We split our time between it and the Pavilion Pool. Main road is close but road noise didn’t bother us. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would rent this unit again.

My wife and I will rent this condo again. Very convenient to beach and other amenities in Wailea and nearby Kihei. Very comfortable and we really enjoyed the spacious lanai with views of the ocean, mountains and green space. Great owners. This was our first try with VRBO and were very satisfied with ease of selecting property, payment and other arrangements were straight forward and easy to understand.

Paradise Found!

This was the perfect vacation rental for a week in paradise. As soon as you walk in the door, you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. The unit is tastefully decorated with Hawaiian decor and giant windows allowing you to take in the beautiful landscape. The unit also included a full kitchen, which allowed us to cook our own meals, all eaten out on the balcony enjoying the views. We were very close to the beach and also very close to the shopping center and other hotels in the area (all walk-able). The next time I visit Maui, I will definitely book this unit, and I would recommend it to anyone I know traveling to Maui as well!
