Thank you for visiting. Happy to hear you enjoyed the retreat as much as we do.
Location was what we wanted-isolated. Great views. Very clean. Upstairs mattress was less than ideal. Would have loved the ability to stream on the television downstairs.
Great house. Location is somewhat remote, but it makes for a peaceful and quiet stay in the mountains. We enjoyed our time and would definitely go back. The owner is very helpful and quick to answer questions.

Thank you for the positive feedback. I'm pleased you enjoyed the space and the tranquility of the mesa retreat.
This is a beautiful property secluded in the foothills outside Rowe. Very quiet, remote area. Great opportunity away from city lights to see the stars! Food highlights nearby in Pecos include dining in at Frankies and takeout from Panchos.
Have to say our stay could not have been better!! It was more than we expected! Beautiful location, clean, every comfort that we needed. We thank the host, never met her but we didn't need to, because everything was top notch!!
We absolutely loved our stay here! Just driving up to it was so relaxing and peaceful. I loved the feeling that we were so secluded in the forest. Sitting outside by the firepit...even though we didn't light a fire...was just the best! The house itself was just perfect for us! I don't know when I've stayed at a place that was so well stocked...that was great! We were attending a retreat near Pecos, and it was the perfect location!

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
Access to the property was very difficult. There was no paved road and that made it very unsettling.
Would not stay at this property again.

Hi Marti, we want all of our guests to find the perfect vacation rental for their stay, so we take the accuracy of our listings seriously. The homeowner would like to share the following:
-We value our guests and have very high standards for our property, and we are sorry for any inconvenience
-While we try to accommodate all guests' comfort, the charm of the home is rustic and has many amenities for a pleasant stay
-The listing does warn guests of the need for AWD or 4WD during the winter. There have been no issues with any cars using the driveway during the summer
-The owner let us know they will be installing Wifi and will be updating the listing accordingly to accommodate future guests
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and we are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!
Fantastic!! 5 Star! Fully loaded 1500sq Ft house in the woods! 30 minutes from Santa Fe. My family loved the place. Martha the ownwer was super nice and very reachable. When we had a risk of a winter storm approaching the moring we left she contacted us and offered help from her family who lived nearby. Most definitely I'd stay here again!!
Major issues:
1) The home doesn’t have air conditioning and that is stated in the description and we expected it. What we didn’t expect was that almost none of the windows are functional. Only 3 in the entire house actually opened and those were difficult to open and barely stayed open. The others were visibly cracked/damaged (both glass and casings) or simply would not budge. I have no problem going without AC, but not when there aren’t functioning windows.
2) The freezer did not open at all. We let the host know and they sent a neighbor over who wasn’t able to do anything so we had to deal with all of the frozen food we had brought. It cost us time and money.
3) There is NO WI-FI at this property and it is not in the description despite reviews dating back over 3 years of renters complaining. The host acknowledged this is an issue and it has been intentionally left out of the description. There isn’t cable or any form of entertainment other than a small tv on a rolling cart and a DVD player. We did not have much cell phone service so this was a real problem we had not way to anticipate because it was intentionally not listed.
4) There isn’t enough functional furniture. The one recliner chair was visibly badly broken but we didn’t know that til we arrived.
5) There was a washer/dryer but absolutely no laundry supplies so it was useless
6) There were no extra paper products and what was there was partially used and inadequate for our stay
7) lots of spider webs

Hi Melissa, we take it seriously when guests let us know that we missed the mark, and after sending your feedback to the homeowner, they’d like to share the following:- We recognize that the windows can be challenging. Although they are all functional, some are heavy and difficult to open. A few require a dowel to keep them open. The intense sunlight at 7,000 feet of elevation and low humidity have affected the window seals. We are actively addressing these issues.- The freezer issue has been resolved by a certified appliance service.- Wi-Fi has been installed as of July 1, 2024, and we are in the process of updating the listing.- We appreciate your feedback on the furniture. As a result, we are replacing the recliner.- Laundry detergent pods were available, but we acknowledge they may have been difficult to find. We will ensure they are more visible and properly labeled. While we provided partial and full rolls of toilet paper and paper towels, we are using your feedback to improve our stocking procedures.- Nobody likes spiders or their webs! While we strive to maintain a clean environment, spiders are very common in our rural location. Despite our best efforts, some may slip in between cleanings, and we appreciate your understanding.Thank you for your valuable insight, and we hope to have the opportunity to host you again soon!
The place was clean and kitchen is well stocked with spices, bags etc. We enjoyed wine on the balcony and breakfast in the cabin.

Great location, very peaceful, lots of nature but still easy to access from the interstate. Everything was in terrific shape and was just what we were expecting from the pictures. We would rent this again any time we are back in the area. Terrific!
I loved this place so much. I arrived tense and stressed out (I'm a executive in a technology company) and after 2 days of being here felt amazing. The house is filled with light and the surrounding area is full of trees. The views are of these stunning cliffs and waking up every morning to that view was marvelous. Love this place so much!
The house and backyard were lovely. The owner was easy to get ahold of when needed. Everything was clean.
The gps did not find the home, so you must drive past the address(Pecos) and keep to the right twice as you travel down the drive. The driveway can be bumpy, so a low car may have difficulty.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and would recommend.
We wanted to be away from the city and this was perfect. Very nicely stocked/labeled and instructions were easy to follow. We would recommend getting there during the daylight...may have been harder to find in the dark. Anytime we had questions (before & after checking in) we were contacted right away. Really liked this location for our needs.
This property was ideal!
It was very spacious, nicely furnished, clean, quiet, multiple outside sitting areas, and a full kitchen!

Girls weekend
This was the perfect spot for our girls weekend! The cabin was great for us and allowed us to cook at home when we wanted to. It was close enough to Santa Fe only about 35-40 min drive to do activities during the day. We did get in the first day when it was dark so that was a little disorienting to get to the property at first but once we got in we immediately felt at home.

Nice, secluded home away from home
Our stay was very nice and the property was as described. I hadn't noticed that it did not include wifi, but it doesn't mention wifi in the description either, so I should have assumed. The home was very private, quiet, and well kept. The location was pretty nice, with being 30 min from Santa Fe, but also within several miles of a state park and plenty of hiking spots. We also really enjoyed Frankie's at the Casanova for breakfast.
This house was just what we were looking for. Close enough to Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Los Alamos, etc. to enjoy those sites during the day and then enjoy the peace and quiet away from the cities in the evenings sitting around an outside fire with the twinkling stars overhead. The kitchen had everything needed to cook your meals, just make sure to plan on picking up groceries and supplies before arriving as there aren’t a lot of shopping options nearby. We had a great time!
This was our first time to the Santa Fe area. This home was great for us as it sits off the beaten path with lots of outside space, peace, quiet, fresh air and room to roam. The property grounds were clean, the fenced in yard and patio were relaxing and an night it is sooooo dark that the stars are fantastic!! Also super quiet!! Our only issue was that somehow the property did not get cleaned before we arrived and the water filtration mentioned in the listing did not work. The host made some quick calls and the property was cleaned before we slept our first evening. The water filtration would have been awesome as the soft water is not the best for drinking. I'm sure the owners will be mindful in getting it fixed. All said, we would recommend a stay here. Be sure to bring enough and beverages as the nearest true grocery store is in Santa Fe and many of the more local restaurants and shops are either closed or limited due to Covid.
The house was a little off the beaten path, but it had great hiking trails to explore. We were also within an hour drive to multiple river spots and a great lake!!
The owner was very nice and accommodating. She was attentive to our needs and very receptive.
They even provided games, movies and books. The only thing that I would add is so.e children movies because my niece wanted to watch tv, but all the movies were adult themed. We had internet service, so it wasn't a big deal.
Overall, my family and I would definitely stay again!
