About this property
Fantastic duplex in the Historic District
We are glad to be back offering our bright, art deco era upper unit with great living area that overlooks other unique homes in a historic district. It is three easy blocks to the light rail and close to downtown Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota, trails, breweries and restaurants.
The duplex was built in 1925 and maintains its original art deco feel. The dark woodwork, door hardware, North and South side piano windows, winding staircase and hardwood flooring throughout the home are inviting and warm. The windows on three sides of the living room provide a fun "tree house" view of the lovely homes on our quiet street and make a great spot to relax or work in the afternoon sunshine. The deck off the second bedroom faces the back yard is the perfect place to spend a summer evening.
There are two bedrooms. Bedroom #1 contains one queen sized bed and ceiling fan. Bedroom #2 has two twin beds. Both rooms have dressers and closet space.
The spacious living room includes lots of comfortable seating, flat screen TV, DVD player and Netflix access. There are also a variety of games and books for guests to use.
The full kitchen is clean, updated and provides items needed to cook meals. It has a full sized refrigerator, oven, gas stove, microwave and dishwasher.
The bathroom is a typical size for the era and has a deep tub with a shower.
The dining room boasts a classic plate shelf and two large West facing windows that bring in the afternoon light. The large dining table can easily seat six.

Why they chose this property
"The duplex" (as we call it) has been in Elise's family for years. We have lived in both units of this building and fell in love with the unique and convenient area. We are thrilled to be part of a community that values the historical homes while it pursues some exciting sustainable development.
What makes this property unique
We think the "tree top" feel of this apartment and the view looking down the street at the other unique homes are wonderful
