Lakeside Retreat Lake Lanier Book now for winter and spring!

Welcome to Dawsonville and one of North Georgia’s most intriguing locations, Lake Lanier. Here you will enjoy beautiful North Georgia mountains, vineyards, outlet shopping, hiking trails, etc. Only an hour north of Atlanta. This quaint studio cottage has all you need for a perfect getaway.
You will enjoy fully furnished nights with a plush king size bed, fully stocked chef’s kitchen, and a custom designed master bath with a stand-up shower and a beautiful air-bath tub. Comfortably heated floors are included for colder nights and a gas firepit table on the deck.. On warmer evenings you will enjoy sitting on the outdoor porch, overlooking the tranquil garden of evergreens or on the newly added side deck with views of Lake Lanier.(Please know that we are on the lake, but we do not have a dock.)
This will be a perfect alternative to a hotel stay for you while visiting Lake Lanier, North Georgia mountains, wineries, or Dahlonega. We live right around the corner on the lake with a two story dock complete with lounge chairs on top. We also have two kayaks and a paddle board that are available with access to the lake from our dock. You are more than welcome to hang out on our dock and fish/swim. I also have parking for a boat and you’re welcome to keep it at my dock while you are there. What a beautiful little house! We just loved staying there. We were impressed with all the extra little touches that Donna went to that made our stay so memorable. And such a nice woodsy neighborhood with views down to the lake. We will definitely be looking for any excuse to come back…soon!!

Welcoming Cottage

The VRBO owner is welcoming and checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Lots of stocked snacks, drinks, and a great variety of Keurig coffee flavors. The cottage is just the right size for two. Nice bathroom, kitchen and comfortable bed. The location at the lake is scenic and Gainesville and Dahlonega are not far away.

Our stay was impeccable. Donna went above and beyond in every facet of our stay. The accommodations were beautifully decorated and just perfect. Donna went above and beyond with every detail from snacks, coffee, creamer, drinks, desserts, etc. In addition, she also was extremely helpful with advice about the area. If this accommodation is available, reserve it! You won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful Property, Great Hospitality!

This property was just as cute as the pictures. The cabin was spotless and well maintained, the fridge was filled with all of the necessities and then some - and Donna even grabbed a few of our favorite snacks and beverages, a very welcoming touch. Donna's hospitality is top notch, we will be back!

Simply Amazing

First, I have to mention our host, Donna, she’s amazing. You know the second you see the place that she enjoys what does, and trust me she is fantastic at it! From the minute we entered we were amazed. The cottage was magnificent. So well decorated. You can clearly tell cleaning is a priority, because it immaculate.if you’re ever in the area don’t hesitate to stay here. We will be using it for our weekend getaways. Only stayed one night but cabin as very clean & extremely comfortable. Although I didn't use the kitchen, it was very well equipped. Beautiful large shower, great water pressure. I would definitely rent again.

Beautiful property

This was one of my most favorite Vrbo rentals I’ve ever stayed at. The property was beautiful and Donna went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Communication with her was easy. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was completely stocked with everything you need including drinks and snacks and it’s decorated beautifully. Would definitely love to stay here again!

Rent this studio! You will not be disappointed! Donna goes above and beyond to make it feel like a home away from home. The place was spotless and very cozy. Perfect for my husband and myself. The location is close to a lot also. We would definitely book this location again in the future.

Terrific birthday getaway

I booked this for my fiancé and I to get away for his birthday and as a last rest before he started a new job. Donna was extremely responsive throughout the process. She asked about our preferences for coffee too! We arrived to a beautifully fall decorated retreat including a happy birthday banner and treats. We enjoyed our stay. There was nothing we needed that wasn't provided. The area is extremely peaceful and I even got some work done sitting on the deck enjoying small but nice view of the lake. We even had time for a romantic dinner at nearby winery.

Relaxing retreat

Where to begin?! Everything about our short stay at this little cabin was amazing. This is probably the best VRBO we have ever stayed at! The property is such a charming, beautiful little cabin, perfect for a couple. Everything has been perfectly appointed, beautifully decorated and is very clean and modern. The host, Donna, was attentive to every detail and made us feel at home! She left us a note to welcome us, included a basket of snacks, drinks in the fridge and every amenity you could need. She was incredibly responsive via text, and was available for anything we may have needed (although she had already thought of everything!). From enjoying coffee on the deck, to relaxing in the comfortable king bed, to soaking in the jetted tub (while watching TV!), we enjoyed every minute of this little gem. Book this property if you want a beautiful place to recharge, relax and forget about the stress of everyday life!

Our recent trip found us staying in such a quaint cabin, a space so remarkable that no measure of praise could truly encapsulate its charm. Nevertheless, I will attempt the feat. Donna is something of a marvel. Our interactions suggest an individual possessed of a certain gentleness and a worldly intelligence. Here is an appreciator of life's finer elements, a veritable connoisseur of grace. It becomes readily apparent that Donna derives an unalloyed pleasure in her role as a host, leaving her guests on Cloud 9. She accomplishes this with an artful non-intrusiveness. In the ballet of hospitality, she is the prima ballerina assoluta. The property itself is an exemplar of perfection. The décor is a symphony of taste and elegance. The experience of relaxing, bathing, or crafting a meal within its confines is such that words cannot accurately describe. The bath was nothing short of a divine experience, made all the more decadent by the addition of an accompanying television to indulge in during the jet-propelled relaxation session. Donna has orchestrated an absolute masterclass in VRBO management. Any couple with an eye for vacationing in the area would be well-advised to secure a booking at this property. Its charm is unparalleled, its value is unprecedented, and with Donna at the helm, it is nothing short of heavenly. There is no scope for missteps, and its lavishness belies its price tag. All told, this cabin may very well be a terrestrial manifestation of paradise.

It has always been a dream of mine to own a cabin that I could rent on VRBO because I love to host, decorate, and meet new people. So after retiring from a job I adored for 31 years (teaching school) I bought Rob’s Retreat. Rob had a very successful business, so when he decided he was going to move and sell his place I immediately told him that I wanted to buy it. That’s how Lakeside Retreat started in November 2022.

Why they chose this property

I chose this neighborhood because it’s so quiet and peaceful yet only 4 miles away from stores and shopping. The people are wonderful here and of course it’s on the lake.

What makes this property unique

my property is unique because it’s only for couples. The only place around here just for two people. It’s very quaint, but beautiful as well.
