Your own private entrance leads you to a comfortable, large living area, sunroom, dining area and private screened in porch. Peaceful Perfection!

Jackie was a wonderful host! The home was clean, comfortable, and incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived. She responded promptly to any questions and even went out of her way to keep us informed about upcoming local events, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We truly appreciated her hospitality and would absolutely stay here again!

My husband and I decided on a quick one-night trip to the south of the OBX for my birthday. This was our first time here. Not only was the room so welcoming and homie, but we also got some delicious donuts provided by Jackie! (Thank you!) We also got suggestions for dinner and breakfast from Jackie and the dinner was amazing. It the weekend trip even more sweet. Thank you Jackie!

Great Stay at Marsh Mellow

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Marsh Mellow! The location was perfect for our bird watching activities, and the owner was very responsive when I needed to reach her. I would definitely recommend Marsh Mellow and would stay there again when back in the area!

Coming back for my honeymoon

I’m not even dating right now, but at least I have my honeymoon VRBO picked out. It was incredible. The most magical part of our trip was this VRBO. It is exactly like the pictures and I can’t wait to come back. Jackie was so kind and even let us take a few of her shells home. We loved it!

10/10 experience staying here. Jackie is a wonderful host and had great communication throughout the stay. The property was very clean and perfect for a lowkey girls weekend! Plenty to do around town and the beach is just a short drive away. Very peaceful. Would love to return again sometime!

Nice stay even in a hurricane...

Very nice and clean. Jackie was wonderful to deal with. Had a great week even with sharing it with Hurrican Debby... No complaints. Highly recommend staying here!

Elegant, Charming, Comfortable and Cozy

The property is beautiful from the grounds to the views and the living spaces. The host, Jackie, added special touches, including a welcome snack on our arrival to providing all the comforts of home. Our visit was brief but we hope to return to Marsh Mellow in the future.

5 Star VRBO experience in every respect

Wonderful stay. Very clean, tastefully decorated, relaxing, private apartment. Hosts are very responsive to guest's questions and requests. Would love to stay again when we are next in the Outer Banks. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place to stay! So quiet and comfortable. Nicely furnished with everything you need. Plenty of places to eat close by. You can go to the beach, nearby attractions or take a nice break at the Marsh Mellow. It’s perfect!

Green oasis

Beautiful private space with a great marsh view. Loved watching herons and osprey in the marsh. Great book selections for a rainy day in, and very convenient to beach access, sound access, good local restaurants. Comfortable bed and everything needed to cook simple meals, even cookies and k-cups supplied, which was great for arrival after a busy morning! So nice to have an outside hose available to rinse off sandy feet. Easy parking for our full-size truck and very responsive host. Loved our short stay and looking forward to returning for longer someday!

Beautiful apartment

The apartment is spacious, very well-equipped, clean and has somewhat of an obstructed marsh and sound view. We constantly had problems with the bathroom plumbing which the owner did address somewhat by purchasing a container of draino but my husband had to attend to it daily; not what he wanted to do on a vacation. The owner did ask that if dishes, glassware, etc. are used to wash all items upon vacating. Fortunately, we were careful not to use too many since all had to be washed in the bathroom sink. Plenty of beverages were provided and a full-size frig was great. The overall outside of the property was somewhat unkempt so views of the marsh and sound were barely visible. It is not walkable to shops or restaurants as was a narrow two-lane road with no shoulder.

What a hidden little treasure this place was! So cute, immaculate, so many little extras, overlooking the marsh, and even has a swing facing the marsh! Jackie was wonderful to communicate with, and so accommodating! We look forward to being able to come back again, and hopefully for more than one night!

Jackie's place is a diamond! It's very private and so nice to be surrounded by beautiful plants, butterflies and birds. If you're into nature, this is a quiet, tranquil spot. We had a rain day and the comfort that the apartment offered was beyond compare! Jackie is a great host and all communications are excellent. We hope to return to Hatteras again someday - and will stay at Marsh Mellow.

Jackie was an amazing host - anything you need, she has it. Extra blankets, fans, hairdryer, utensils, etc etc. When I mentioned that we were traveling for my partner’s birthday, she even left a dessert in the fridge for us. The sunroom was perfect for reading and candlelit dinners at sunset. We had a great stay and would definitely stay again.
