About this property
1914 North Park Carriage House w/Views!
Come enjoy a stay in our fully furnished early 1900's carriage house. Built in 1914, (110 years old!) it was originally designed for the storage of a carriage or horseless carriage, such as a Model T. The ground floor includes a clean, well-equipped kitchen as well as a bathroom with an original, vintage clawfoot tub. Upstairs, you'll find the living room and bedroom, an oasis of relaxation with fresh linens and cozy bedding. Whether you're relaxing on the sofa or laying in bed, you're sure to love the VIEWS, VIEWS, VIEWS! Enjoy the mountains to the east and the sunsets to the west. Our guest house has sweetly been referred to as a "tree house," as the 2nd story looks out to our large, green, and leafy Tipuana Tipu tree in our back yard.
We are located in North Park San Diego and surrounded by fun things to do and see. Restaurants, breweries, and shopping abound in this hip, eclectic, and diverse neighborhood.
Centrally located, North Park is only minutes away from the heart of downtown San Diego, known as the Gaslamp District. World famous Balboa Park, with museums, art and culture, is only a few minutes away. Attractions such as the San Diego Zoo and Sea World are also close nearby. In addition, getting to the airport only takes about 10-15 mins. If you're looking to spend time at the beaches, we are not far from the beautiful, white sands of Coronado island as well as the fun, bustling boardwalk and beaches of Mission Beach and Pacific Beach. Everything is only a short distance away.
Surrounding neighborhoods include Hillcrest, Mission Hills, South Park, Golden Hill, University Heights, Normal Heights and Kensington.
When sending a booking request, please tell us a little about yourself, what brings you to San Diego, and who you'll be traveling with.
Come stay and enjoy a comfortable visit in our vintage slice of history. We look forward to welcoming you!

We loved the location - a quiet neighborhood of lovely homes, close to great places for coffee and breakfast. The unit is beautifully decorated with fresh linens and a wonderful breeze when we opened the windows. We didn't cook there, but appreciated the coffee and yummy bottle of wine and treats the host left for us!
This place was perfect! It has everything I look for in a guest house. So comfortable, private and peaceful. Thank you for creating this magical space.
Great central location in north park with the essentials and fabulous plants everywhere if you’re into that sort of thing (I am). Communicative hosts, clean cute space with great views. All in all a really good experience!
I had a wonderful stay! It is in a quiet neighborhood so don't bring a party here. If you're looking to relax and have a quiet stay, book it! I would absolutely book it again! Loved it!
Our hosts were welcoming, and provided everything we needed. The unit was sunny, charming, and comfortable. It’s in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to restaurants and stores. We recommend this great little getaway.
Our stay here could not have been more perfect!!! This guest house was so charming and made for such a relaxing stay. The neighborhood was incredibly safe and walkable (and parking was a breeze)! Beyond that, the hosts were so communicative and kind. They really went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed :)
Most everything really great.Only picky detail we did not like was bathroom and kitchen on ground floor, bedroom and living room on 2nd floor. Minor inconvenience only.Great location. Quiet neighborhood. Comfortable bed.
This guest house was perfect for my stay in San Diego! Cozy accomadations and perfect location to easliy explore the city. *5-7 minute walk to the main Drag of North Park. Brooke and Justin were generous hosts, and the housekeeking instructions were thorough and easy to understand. They were quick to respond with questions I had. If you're looking for a more quaint and quiet neighborhood experience rather than a downtown hotel, this guest house is a great choice!
This historic carriage house is full of charm (and light!) and in a great location within easy walking distance to all North Park has to offer and super close to the park. Brook and Justin were the perfect hosts--they were welcoming, clear, and responsive. The carriage house was clean and lovingly maintained. We had an amazing time and would definitely stay again.
Clean and well maintained jewel in the heart of North Park. Entertainment and food within a short walk and everything San Diego is known for is a short drive away.
What a find in North Park! My husband and I loved this charming carriage house. It's filled with thoughtful details - coasters for tables, plenty of lamps/lighting, extra towels, and more. The treetop views from the living room and bedroom were so lovely. Brooke and Justin were welcoming hosts, and the location can't be beat. Close to all North Park has to offer, but on a quiet side street, and minutes away from Balboa Park and downtown. Hope we can return soon!
My husband and I flew into San Diego for the weekend to visit our son who is attending college there and we needed a place to stay. This guest house is adorable, stylishly decorated and very comfortable. Our home away from home for two days. North Park is a great area, a lot of great restaurants and central to all of San Diego. The hosts were super responsive, they gave us our privacy and were happy to share recommendations with us on local restaurants. Available, kind, and gracious. Great weekend!
Never visited SD before, and we lucked out on the location of this perfect, quaint spot. We were in walking distance to restaurants. It was a very quiet area with on street parking. We never had difficult finding a spot even though it was Thanksgiving week. The accommodations were outstanding! We loved the Carriage house -- it had everything we needed. It was extremely private with an enclosed patio area to enjoy a glass of wine. The owners were very communicative and provided excellent recommendations for restaurants. We will be visiting again and without a doubt I will be making another reservation. By far the best rental we've ever stayed at.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a couple of nights during our spring break and absolutely loved it! Brook was extremely accommodating and we felt very comfortable and welcomed in their guest home. The check in and check out process was very easy to follow and convenient!
The house itself was very unique and interesting. It had everything we needed, and the ambience was super homey. The house is tall enough where you can look out over the neighborhood which was a really cool feature. The location of the home was also perfect! Everything we did wasn’t more than 20 minutes away, and we could easily walk to balboa park or north park.
Overall, we had a great time and I would definitely recommend this home to everyone!!
The location was really great and we loved walking to restaurants and coffee shops. Brook and Justin were great hosts and The unit was as described and well equipped. The bottle of wine was appreciated and the bed was also very comfortable. Our problem was that the doorways were too short and my husband hit his head, hard a couple times. He’s 6’2”. Also the stairs are very steep and narrow. They were especially difficult to navigate going downstairs because of the steepness and they were slippery in socks. Maybe a younger, shorter couple would have less issues with these things. Overall a nice place in a great location.
Good, prompt communication with owners. The location is fantastic for getting to know the two main sections of N Park. The property invites lots of sunlight and you can enjoy the San Diego sunsets from the bedroom. Creative and artsy appointments.
