Located in the center of Kavousi village, a traditional 18th century Cretan home restored and renovated with respect to its original form. Two separate rooms, connected through a small yard, like most homes in Cretan villages used to be. The kitchen is fully equipped and also has a washing machine. In bedroom there is a comfortable bed, a large vintage closet and a decorative -non functional- fireplace. The house has a simple and stylish shower bathroom. The house offers all modern facilities and comfortably accommodates 2 people, while larger families and groups can rent upon request our independent neighboring home. Ideal for all seasons and for both sea and mountain lovers.

The old house is very nicely renovated and decorated. We loved to spend our time there. Everything you need is there.
The yard, the real living-room, is quite small, but very agreeable and has a nice atmosphere.
Hostess Eleni is absolutely friendly and gave us a lot of advices for our trips and restaurants.
In Kavoussi there are not to many tourists, so you feel as living in an authentic Kretian village.
We are glad having found this accomodation and region for our holidays.

Eleni is a great host and Ehe has renovated this beautiful old stonehouse with lots of love and respect for the ancient rural architecture. Also, Kavousi ist a lovely village, people are very welcoming and friendly. We had a great stay - thank you very much!
Onze gastvrouw Eleni was zeer gastvrij.

About the host
Hosted by Eleni Kasotaki
I am a structural engineer, working for the municipality of Ierapetra, in charge of environmental projects and civil protection. I am also a mother of two teenagers and I enjoy taking trips and excursions with them, enjoying our district's diverse nature. I also love to travel abroad, read and listen to music.
Why they chose this property
This is my a part of my grandparents home, where I used to spend vacations and weekends during my childhood. It is filled with dear memories of my loved ones and cherished moments of relaxed, simple village life in Kavousi. I have kept a couple of my ancestors photographs in display in the living room to honor and thank them for passing down this lovely property to me and my family. It was a life's goal for me to have this home properly restored and renovated and afterwards stylishly furnished and decorated. This demanding process lasted a few years , it was time & money consuming but I enjoyed all of it. I still love to spend my free time there with family and friends and I would love to be able share my home with people that will enjoy and appreciate it as well.
What makes this property unique
I have used a lot of vintage, heavy furniture, which now restored are given new life and a lot of color, which I think generally represents life in this village.
