Guests will love this well loved wooden floored art deco gem. She is a little worn from the many years standing in the direct firing line of the Foveaux Strait, but is warm and comfortable inside. She has a compact and cozy living/dining area with open fire (and plenty of firewood). The beach is a stones throw from the property, right across the road and a local store, playground and a restaurant a short stroll away.

I can assure you Sussanne the property was not dirty. I'm looking at the photos now that our cleaner takes after every clean and it's clearly visible in the photos that the floors, shower screens, vanity/bench tops and toilet are all clean.
I'm sorry you didn't find the beds comfortable. Bearing in mind the nightly rate for the 5 of you is a fair reflection of the fact you were booking a 'bach'.
Great location. No frills, budget friendly. Borer is an issue with borer dust in the bedroom and kitchen/dining area

You're right Bindi - borer dust is an issue. Unfortunately, we try and get in before guests arrive to sweep it up, but they are very persistent. Regular borer bombs are let off - they just love the old rimu floorboards.
Thanks for staying, we hope you had a good stay.
Communication was quick and efficient, and being able to check in 1 hour earlier was much appreciated. The house was mostly clean, but could probably do with a good deep clean. The TV wasn't working and the double bed mattress of the bunk bed was very uncomfortable with springs very noticeable.

Thanks for taking the time to review our property. The property was cleaned the day before arrival. I have just checked the cleaners invoice/photos and everything looks pretty good to me. The age of the house doesn't lend well to spotlessly looking house, but the nightly rate fairly reflects the age and stage of our wee home. I had the TV checked after your checked out and it just need the AV settings changed, as per the email that I sent.
I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay.
To explore the coastal region and have a nice place stay read and relax in the evening. We really enjoyed our stay
Thank you.

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
The houses has not been cleaned properly in a long time and when i made contact with the host she said that's odd and doesn't know what else to say. Didn't even apologize. The beds are super uncomfortable, they must be very old as well.

That's correct - I did find it odd that thought that property hadn't been cleaned in a long time, as it had been cleaned the weekend before you arrived (which I did in fact inform you).
The tea towel which you have photographed has since been thrown out - this was stained, it wasn't actually dirty.
I'm not sure why you've posted a picture of the fridge, it's not dirty. Your photos shows residual water from recent defrosting.
The freezer does need to be wiped of the mould which has formed.
The kettle has water marks on it, it's not dirty.
The oven was cleaned during the weekend before and the photo you've taken shows the cleaning product that was unfortunately not wiped off. This was an oversight, but the oven isn't dirty.
Unfortunately, some guests expect alot more than what they are paying for. I'm sure you did you research when booking your accommodation and would've found that our property is priced fairly. You would've also found that the majority of our ratings are 8 or higher.
Wonderful views and a great location. House is old but comfortable

You're right Martin, our little house is well worn by the harsh conditions of the sea. We try to ensure there's plenty of firewood available to keep the inside warm and comfortable.
The beach views from this house were amazing. We used the house as a base whilst we did day trips in the area. We found it had everything we needed and was the ideal home away from home whilst we were on holidays in New Zealand.
A beautiful spot, appreciates the full glory of the southern ocean and all its weather. Super accessible to many beautiful places. Great walks out to the points. Good swimming. Really enjoyed this stay. Thank you.
