Spacious airy loft/condo with a dramatic ocean view from the entire unit. Let the waves lullaby you to sleep, or just enjoy sitting on the balcony overlooking the ocean and sip on morning coffee or an afternoon drink. The condo is located on the third floor and is a part of the fully gated oceanfront community, 'The Dawn Galveston Beach Condominiums'. This condo offers a very unique floor plan, which is rare to find (there are only 16 similar units at the Dawn) and offers an unobstructed ocean view. Condo is very spacious (911 sq ft and 76 sf ft of balcony). Kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, coffee maker, toaster, blender, cookware and dinnerware. A spacious dining area offers seating for 4 people. The master bedroom is connected with its own entrance to the full bathroom, and includes a smart TV with ROKU as well as a spacious walk-in closet. The second bedroom is located in the loft area and it overlooks the living room and shares the ocean view. Master bedroom has brand new platform king size bed and loft bedroom has a new platform queen size bed, both beds feature hybrid Beautyrest mattresses with quality linen. Additional sleeping is available in the living room, where the sleeper sofa can be unfolded into a queen size bed with memory foam mattress. Additional sleeping options is provided in the form of foldable, 4 inch thich full mattress, which is located in the closet and can be placed elsewhere. There is a full size washer and dryer in the condo and large pack n play for your little one.
Complex is gated with additional pedestrian access from the Seawall. It is well maintained with a tropical feeling and offers two pools, hot tub, ocean front gym and picnic area. The entire complex offers an abundance of unassigned parking (one time $30 fee per vehicle).
The condo is located in close proximity to many Galveston attractions, like Moody Gardens, several Fishing piers, Schlitterbahn Water Park, The Historic Pleasure Pier, Moody Gardens Golf Course, The Historic district with The Strand shopping area, Post Office Gallery strip, a variety of dinning and shopping opportunities and of course beaches, beaches, and beaches...

Note: There is no elevator access to the condo. The loft bedroom does not have an additional closet, but does include a dresser.

Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds, gather used towels and store extra beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Start first load of the laundry.
May to September, set thermostat to 73F before leaving.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
All guests are required to register at the main office and pay one time $35 parking fee and receive pool wrist bands upon their arrival.
Code for door WiFi controlled keypad will be provided before check in and will be valid only during the guest's stay.

We loved this location. The decor was first class, bright and enjoyable. We knew ahead of time that it would be on the 3rd floor but decided the view would be worth it. It was excellent. The amenities covered about anything you would need. We determined it was a far better value than many or any hotel room on the island. Will definitely be back.

I think this is probably one of the best locations in Galveston for a vacation rental overlooking the ocean. The condo is just as pictured, worked great for our party of four.

This property was perfect for our stay in Galveston. Close to stores, restaurants and right across from the beach! Very clean with everything we needed in the kitchen. And we really loved the two pools, too. Highly recommend!

Spring Break Stay

Unit was well kept and clean and well stocked with kitchen basics / laundry. For us, it was worth spending a few extra dollars to get the gorgeous oceanview offered by this condo. We did not use the pools or facilities of the property, although the pools in particular looked very nice. Communication with Ivana was easy and responses back from her were prompt. Overall, we felt the property was exactly as advertised on VRBO.We did not have a vehicle as we are more than happy to go on 15-30 minute walks to nearby restaurants or a 5 minute walk to the next door Walmart. Would happily return.

Love how the entire place is decorated. The place was clean and we'll stocked for what we needed. We felt safe and had no issues with parking. It was nice having the beach across the street and restaurants/shopping close by. The host was very attentive and promptly responded to any questions we had.

Wonderful condo and beautiful location

The pictures and description do not do this condo justice. The condo was clean, fully equipped with anything you need, and had a gorgeous view! The property had 2 very nice pools and was just a short walk across the street to the beach. We also loved the the property is gated for security! Grocery and tons of great restaurants close by! We were very happy with our stay!

Great 4th of July vacation!

The condo was great! It was clean and fully stocked with everything you need. You could no ask for better views from your balcony and bedroom window! The dawn has wonderful pools and just a short walk across the street from Babe’s beach! Rent this condo you will not regret it!

Nice location, but had some issues

Property owner was responsive to issues, but there was more than 1. Back sliding door was broken, garbage disposal in sink was broken. There were cracks in the wall, and it didn’t look super clean. Disappointing for what we paid for it.

The owner has done a nice job in furnishing this condo with everything necessary for a nice stay. My complaints are not related to this specific unit, but rather with the condo complex. The walk gates were never locked, making the complex open to all passersby. The hot tub was not very hot, and the pool was not heated. The parking was far away from this unit, and with the stairs to climb, it was exhausting getting all our stuff inside. There is no secure place to lock bicycles (which we had brought for this trip.) Worst thing was the traffic noise -- it was horrible! We couldn't even sit out on the balcony to enjoy the beach -- way too noisy.

I moved to Galveston in June 2006 and I fell in love with it. Its compact size and close proximity to everywhere, the Historic District with galleries, theaters, and fine dining reminds me of small European cities and makes me feel more at home. My son was born here and there was not a single day that we wouldn't have an idea of what to do. There are many attractions, plus numerous seasonal events that can keep you entertained all year round. I work as a scientist at the University of Texas Medical Branch and I love my morning drive to work on Seawall; I am often greeted by a wonderful sunrise. The island's laid back attitude gives me the feeling of being constantly on vacation and it allows me to relax after a stressful day. I love this place and I believe it is a hidden gem, which has yet to be fully appreciated. I would love to share my love of Galveston with you and help you enjoy it as much as I do. Your satisfaction will be my happiness.

Why they chose this property

This is my forth unit in Dawn condominiums complex and the second loft, which overlooks the gulf and sandy beach. I was lucky to come across one being for sale this year. The first one I purchased in 2014, when I started my rental business. This time I tried to give the unit throughout makeover, with fresh paint, newly painted kitchen and bathroom cabinets, new carpet and most importantly new furnishing, allowing me to achieve the comfort and luxury of our own homes. I hope you will enjoy your stay!
