The Perfect Catskills Lake House

Indulge in cabin vibes at this mid-century modern craftsman on a secluded, non-motorized lake. This home has modern amenities with luxury linens, mattresses and pillows by Casper, firewood provided, and complimentary MALIN+GOETZ toiletries.

The house is kid friendly but not child proof. We provide a pack n’ play and high chair upon request.

Set on the lakefront of Montgomery Lake within a history rich town provides the perfect year-round retreat destination. A secluded location, yet still close to grocery stores and farmers' markets. Seasonal activities include rafting down the Delaware River, hiking, horseback riding, and skiing. The home is equipped with 2 kayak's, water tubes, a floating dock and plush towels for lazy lakeside days (seasonal). A deck overlooking the lake is styled with 2 couches, and Weber gas bbq grill, cooler, and dining table. A fire-pit and firewood is provided all year round.

Other local activities and attractions include Bethel Woods Center for the Arts museum, concerts, and the original grounds of Woodstock. The neighboring town of Narrowsburg offers local shopping, restaurants, and spectacular views of the Delaware River. Local breweries and antiquing is plentiful.

The house is warm and inviting. Guests often celebrate intimate birthday or anniversary weekend getaways in the home. The kitchen is well equipped with the necessities to cook a holiday meal. Overall, the home's design and environment encourages families and friends to take a break from the daily hustle, enjoy each others company, and soak up nature. Your stay is complete if you have the opportunity to spot a bald eagle!

Cute and neat place with awesome location

The property was a beautiful small cabin with a very nice collection of kitchen cookware, dinner sets and wine glasses. The view to the lake from both the bedrooms and living room was the best part. The home was both pet and kids-friendly. All of us had a great time. Will return back sometime during summers.

Absolutely magical weekend

We came into town for a concert weekend at nearby Bethel during a massive heat wave. Nina’s house and hospitality made it the absolute perfect weekend. The lake is super quiet and wonderful to float in, plus they keep the house stocked with a stand up paddle board, kayaks, and floaties. Check in and communication were also perfect. Just a lovely, well-managed vacation rental. Would 100% come back!

Cute and quiet- perfect covid getaway

The property was immaculate and fully stocked. This cute little summer hideaway was perfect for two couples. Great back deck overlooking a small lake, tucked away in the trees. We spent two weeks here in August. We spent nearly all our waking hours outside, quiet lake perfect for swimming, walks in the woods where wildlife abounds, deer, birds, even a bear sighting! Alfresco dinners, occasional campfires on chilly nights and also hosted a few other friends for a barbecue. Minimal cell service (with great WiFi), was a perfect balance- we almost forgot about the chaos in the world.

Quiet Location

We enjoyed our stay in this Lake house. The house is on a dead end road and the area is very quiet. Across the front of the house are woods and there are plenty of deer to be seen. The lake was also very quiet, Since there are no motorized boats, the water was pretty much calm. There is no beach area nor ladders to get in and out of the water from the dock. But one can easily walk in. The water was clear but also mucky near the edge/dock. The house was comfortable. There is no central A/C, only one window unit in the living room. The A/C was powerful enough to reach the bedrooms when the bedroom doors were open. We didn't cook but the kitchen appeared to be well stocked with utensils, pots, etc. The WI-FI was very good. It worked very well for those of us who work remotely. There was excellent communication with the host. Questions before our stay were answered expediently. If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet getaway, this house may be what you are searching for.

Great escape on the lake

My family and I stayed here for two nights.. Its a great little home on a very quiet street in the woods - exactly what I was looking for! Also the views of the lake were exceptional and very Zen.. Would also like to maybe check this place out in the summer months. Very quiet, peaceful, and serene setting which is what I needed.

Perfect getaway spot!

Perfect getaway spot. We loved it and will definitely come back. We stayed here during the December holidays break. Found the place cozy, warm, with a perfectly equipped kitchen, and both bathrooms stocked with toiletries. Wonderful little fireplace, comfortable beds, turntable, and a collection of vinyl records. Breathtaking view of the lake, and forest around the house. Fast wi-fi; we both worked remotely during this break. Just half an hour drive from Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain, and a few minutes drive to the nearest supermarket. We imagine this place is also great in the Summer, as the lake is just basically next to the porch.

Beautiful Thanksgiving Getaway

We had an absolutely love time at this property for a four day winter getaway! The home is extremely well set up for guests with a full kitchen, amazing beds (king sized Casper!) and a lovely wood burning fire. Would highly recommend to any visitor to the Catskills!

Excellent lake house escape

Nina’s property is beautiful and exactly as described. We had a beautiful view of a small, tranquil lake. With no motorized boating on the water, our kids were safe and happy splashing about all day. The owner-provided kayaks and paddle board added to the fun! The location is surrounded by largely undisturbed nature, and we were visited by a couple of friendly deer (do your daily tick checks!) and non-venomous snakes — which all added up to a grand adventure. Meals and afternoon napes on the deck were a daily affair. The interior is well-appointed, comfortable for a family of four, and immensely cozy — enough to make us want to brave a winter-time visit. Cell service is very poor in this area, which made navigation a challenge in some spots. That said, there is a grocery store and small Dollar General about 8 mins drive away, and good food options farther a little farther afield. One suggestion: the couch pillows/upholstery could use a good cleaning to refresh (they carried some odor, nothing too bad but definitely noticeable). One trigger warning: driving around Yulan and neighboring towns, we saw a lot of Confederate flags and similar paraphernalia ***not on our street though***!!!! We felt absolutely safe and welcomed in our nook, but the flags were a jarring sight. Nevertheless, I would book this property again in a heartbeat.

Nice quiet getaway

The property is perfect for a quiet getaway. Beautiful views and a wonderful amenities to enjoy the lake and nature. The house was very clean and everything felt like home. It can get pretty warm in the house on hot days so being able to enjoy the lake was a must. Area attractions are minimal but if you just want to get away and relax this is a great location.

Much needed relaxing vacation

We had a wonderful time at this cute little lake house - it was exactly what we needed during this time. Nina was unbelievably responsive to any and all messages. The house was exactly as advertised - the lake was beautiful, with the kayaks as an added bonus. Our kids spent as much time in the water as possible, and loved seeing all the deer while eating dinner outside Fantastic trip!
