About this property

Cottage Point Coal and Candle

Coal & Candle Cottage located on the water’s edge at Cottage Point is one of the best secluded holiday destinations in Sydney, combining a relaxing waterfront environment with plenty of outdoor activities. Coal and Candle is part of the Kuring-Gai Motor Yacht Club but quite seperate and private.

This four bedroom two bathroom house, can sleep up to 10 guests, but would be fabulous for smaller groups or even a couple and offers everything you could want for a weekend getaway or a memorable family holiday. The master bedroom has a king bed with ensuite . The second bedroom has a King bed and the third and fourth bedrooms both have tri bunks - doubles on the bottom and singles on top. All rooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans.

The open plan living, dining and kitchen is bright and airy. There is a lovely outdoor deck area overlooking the waterway with a BBQ, outdoor lounge and dining table. You also have access to the swimming pool and two secure parking spots at the Kuring-Gai Motor Yacht Club.

Other comforts include WiFi, TV, DVD, Bluetooth stereo, reverse cycle A/C in every room, Nespresso coffee machine, family sized fridge, dishwasher and fully equipped laundry.

Things to do at Cottage Point and on the waterways -

Hire a tinnie or kayak to go fishing, explore the nearby beaches (15 minute drive to access any of the bautiful Northern Beaches) and waterfalls or view Aboriginal rock art.
Bushwalk on the many tracks located in Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park.
Eat breakfast or lunch at the Cottage Point Kiosk or have them prepare you a picnic hamper. They will also cater meals for you or pre-order your groceries.
Dine at the renowned Cottage Point Inn next door.
Or just relax on the outdoor deck with a good book and watch the waterfront comings and goings, sea eagles soaring overhead and bush turkeys fossicking in the undergrowth.

Please note that telephone reception is intermittent at best, so the kids may not be able to use their devices. Mobile phone calls can be done over the wifi link or from the free Telstra phone box located at the Yacht Club next door.

Cottage Point Weekend
A pleasant stay in a spacious cottage. All good if you ignore the check in failures and poor quality, limited TV offering. Cottage Point Kiosk is good for breakfast and lunch but Cottage Point Inn is expensive and only open for dinner on weekends. Apart from the road there are no walks from Cottage Point unless you drive out or further into the National Park.

Great Sydney Getaway
Newly renovated and very clean throughout. Water and park views from in and outside of the cottage. Able to use the swimming pool at the yacht club was an added bonus for our kids. Highly recommended and would stay again.

Cottage Point stay
The house was perfect for our group. Clean, comfortable and everything seems new. Kitchen is very small with limited bench space. Only one car space in the yacht club car park so other cars had to park up the road. Perfectly located so we lunched at both Cottage Point Inn and Cottage Point Kiosk. All food was very good. Rented kayaks from Cottage Point Kiosk for a really beautiful paddle up Smith's Creek. Bring mozzie repellent for sitting on the balcony in the evening. Lovely view. Highly recommended.
