Fantastic location for Bear Mountain

Location Location Location - this property is a five minute walk from Bear Mountain, plenty for adults and kids to enjoy (piano, chess, air hockey...etc.). We made a fantastic family dinner and the roomy kitchen let us literally have many cooks in the kitchen at the same time. Would stay here again!

Amazing Trip!

This house was everything that it said it would be. We had plenty of room for 3 couples and 4 teenagers. It had such a homey feel. We prepared our Thanksgiving meal in the large well stocked kitchen. The dining table fit all 11 of us. The bedrooms were large and the bedding was absolutely dreamy. The house was decorated for the upcoming holidays and made us feel very festive. The check in and check out process was extremely easy. I would stay here again and would recommend it to any large family.

Cant beat the location!

The house is cozy and close to Bear Mountain, about four houses away from the parking lot. It was great to relax at home after a day of skiing. Our 17 and 20 year old kids actually wanted to hang out play pool and air hockey at night. The house needs some updating (which they plan on doing later this year), but overall it is in great condition. Brenda, the owner, was nice enough to send someone over to shovel the walkway and driveway after 24 hours of heavy snow. It was nice to have the home owner lookout for us, and truly wanted us to enjoy our stay.

Moonridge is Fabulous!

This property was perfect for our moms / daughters ski trip! House was clean and located steps to the mountain which made it so easy not having to load up the car with all the gear to get to the slopes. And girls could walk home for lunch or a rest! The girls loved playing air hockey and sledding down the hill in the backyard when not on the slopes. Everyone had great sleep as well as beds were super comfortable! We recommend Moonridge without any reservations and will book it again! Brenda is a fabulous host!

Return to the mountain

We lived in the mountains for 24 years and this was our first trip in a few years. The house was great for the adults but it is not a kid friendly house. We had a 2 year old and a 10 month old. If you have older children it’s awesome. Pool table and air hockey. Very updated but the beds are very high not great trying to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The location is great. Coffee, donut place very close and good restaurants within a 5-10 min drive.

Convenient location for family trip

Quick responses and great communication with Brenda and property manager. Home was comfortable for family trip. Random decor but cozy. Small things can be fixed around the house to make stay better (no shampoo/soap, step trash can did not function, no A/C, some ants in kitchen) Nothing major though and still had a very pleasant time hanging out with family playing pool and air hockey with kiddos. Convenient drive to lake and/or the village and access to hikes.

Amazing Stay!

I really enjoyed spending the weekend with my family and friends. The house is 5 min walking distance from the slopes that which was very convenient...especially traveling with a newborn. The older kids enjoyed their ski lessons and came back home to enjoy their meals and then out in the afternoon for more snow fun. The house is super clean and this is number one priority for us. It is also well maintained with a well-furnished kitchen and cozy living room. I was able to communicate with the manager Brenda and she prompt addressed all my questions. I highly recommend this property!!!!

Home away from home

We booked for a weekend getaway. It was about 4 houses away from the ski resort which allowed us to sleep is little and avoid the parking lines. The house had everything we needed. Just wished Mother Nature would have provided some snow during our stay but now we have hopes of returning in the future.

Summer Stay

Property is located across from the zoo and walking distance to the slopes. Upstairs got really hot there were fans it just was not feasible no AC ...there were quite a bit of spiderwebs like the property wasnt properly cleaned or hasnt been used in a while a sweep through of cleaning crew would have been appreciated. Overall good location and 4 cars do not fit on driveway unless they are small vehicles.

Big and spacious home

We had a wonderful stay at The Lift Chalet. It was walking distance to the lifts with so much to do inside and outside of the home. The kids were able to go sledding without leaving the house. We enjoyed every moment and would love to come back soon.

Perfectly located!

Brenda and her property is nothing short of amazing. We had a large family group of 12 and stayed comfortably there. There's board games, table hocky, pool, tv so everyone had something to do. We boarded for 2 days and this location is perfect! You can literally see the slopes and lift and the walk is about 5-10 minutes. We avoided a ton of traffic and parking hassle which would have taken away from enjoying the slopes. Brenda was a great host as well. Communication with her was easy and she addressed any questions / concerns pretty quickly. I'll definitely stay here again!

LOVED IT!

Was lucky enough to rent the house for memorial day weekend and son's BDAY. The owner couldn't be more kind or responsive. Any questions or request answered quickly. EVERYTHING is there that you need - great beds, dishes, serving platters for large groups, enough bathrooms, laundry, fab coffee machine and so forth. Truly a home. The house is beautiful. We were 14 and made it work (lots of kids) at max occupancy. The dining room/poker/pool table and air hockey table and piano are such fun - everyone from our group participated in some form. It is right across the street from the Zoo - fun to visit and to hear the animals at night. Fab vacation. Comfortable! Thank you!!!!

Awesome property just 4 houses from slopes!

This property was perfect for our ski getaway. We had 8 adults and 6 kids and we all fit very comfortably. The house was very comfortable, spacious, and clean. The kids loved the air hockey table in the loft. We loved being just a quick walk from the slopes, it's about 4 houses to the parking lot of Bear Mountain! Brenda was also an amazing host, so easy to work with and very responsive to all questions. We would most definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this place! Thank you again!!!

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

We stayed at this property with 6 adults and 8 kids for the weekend. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep and plenty of bathrooms for our 3 families! Well-stocked kitchen, cozy fireplace, lots of fun indoor activities for the kids, and a GREAT location (across the street from the zoo and easy walking distance to Bear Mountain.) But our favorite part was the amazing sledding hill out back - the kids had a blast! Thank you for opening up your amazing home to us!

Great Location and Excellent Hosts

We had a great weekend stay at this vacation home, with prime location near Bear Mountain. Walking to the lifts was an easy and short 5 minute walk. We spent most of our time on the slopes but we did find that the small slope behind the house was perfect for our kids to slide on and play in the snow. Listening to the wolves and coyotes howl was a treat. The house was clean and warm (for the most part - see below). We found Brenda (the owner) to be incredibly helpful and responsive (usually responding within minutes to e-mails/phone calls). We were especially thankful for her flexibility with our check in/check out times - due to the unusual circumstances from January's epic snow fall. Overall it was great, but there were some minor issues. When we were there the piano was completely out of tune; there was no heat coming out of the registers in the master bedroom; the tv, roku player and stereo components in the house were hard to figure out (the tv in the "great room" had no reception or access to netflix, etc, whereas the tv's upstairs did - once we figured it out); and the pull out couch bed in the upstairs loft (the "4th bedroom") sloped towards the middle (we ended up putting the mattress on the floor which made it much more comfortable). A complete set of everyday plates and bowls and new teflon pans (with teflon safe spatulas) would be a nice improvement. A welcome binder with manuals for all the electronics would be great too. The owners seem very attentive and motivated to make this a nice rental so I'm sure these things will be fixed soon, if not already.

They don't joke when they say just steps to the ski lifts!

This home was just perfect for our family. The location was just FABULOUS and was literally just steps to the mountain. We had a party of 11 and it was so comfortable. There were tons of blankets all over the house and it was so warm and cozy. Everything was very clean and to make it short, it was so cozy and comfortable! In practically all the rooms, you can see the animals frolicking in the snow and you could hear the wolves howling. The kids were so excited about being so close to the animals and being able to see them throughout our whole stay, even when we weren't at the zoo. The owner Brenda was very accommodating to us, making sure we had everything we need. I highly recommend booking this home if you want a truly phenomenal stay in Big Bear Lake. The house is located in such a convenient place; it was so easy to get to the activities, the snow, the Village, the lake. It was just a perfect first vacation in Big Bear Lake and will for sure not be our last. We will definitely be booking again with you guys again! Thank you again. Nevaeh Vasquez

Location Location!!'We all went to the zoo, slopes (a few steps away):), tubing, sledding in the backyard and the Village at night for some delicious dinners. Great location, for all the outdoor fun and very close to everything!!! Great accommodation!!! An Awesome Ski House Next to the Lifts!

This home was perfect for our family ski vacation. There were 14 in our party, and we all fit comfortably. Everything we needed was right there; both amenity-wise inside the home and activities / shopping / dining just down the street. I would highly recommend booking a stay at this home if you have a group of friends and/or family and are looking for a nice, clean cabin with breathtaking views of the ski lifts and surrounding mountainous area. We walked to Bear Mountain every day! Working with the owners was great-Thanks Brenda and Diego for a great vacation!

Nice and practical

The property is literally a few steps away from the slopes and that gave us the opportunity to go up and down very easily. Specially because we travelled with our kids. Although parking outside was ok, an indoor parking space would be nice with easier access to the house, particularly when icy. The backyard is awesome and very nice place to play and have a barbecue. House is a little old but I understand it's being under a refurbish work. I would definitely come back to see it new and stay some other good time up there. By the way, owners were great people to deal with. They took care of everything during our stay.

About the host

Hosted by Brenda

Host profile image
We are a family of five who truly enjoy spending time in Big Bear. Diego is an engineer who loves golf and the outdoors, and Brenda manages the home with a focus on comfort, cleanliness, and making sure guests feel at ease from the moment they arrive.

Our three young daughters love the snow, the fresh mountain air, and exploring the nearby trails. Because our children have allergies, we intentionally keep the home pet-free to maintain a clean and comfortable environment for families like ours. This is a place we use ourselves and care for deeply, and we’re excited to share it with guests looking for a peaceful mountain getaway.

Why they chose this property

Moonridge immediately stood out to us for its rare mix of quiet surroundings, walkability, and access to nature. In addition to being just steps from Bear Mountain, the home is a very short walk to some of Moonridge’s most loved trails, including Truck Trails Big Bear, Bristlecone Trail, and Poplar Trail.

In the spring and summer, the neighborhood is especially peaceful, making it perfect for morning walks, trail hikes, and trips to the nearby Bear Mountain Golf Course. In the winter, being able to walk to the slopes — and avoid traffic and parking — makes the location truly special.

What makes this property unique

What truly sets our home apart is the combination of exceptional location and a calm, family-friendly atmosphere. Guests can walk to Bear Mountain in just minutes, step out the door to nearby Moonridge trails, and still enjoy a quiet residential setting away from crowds and nightlife.

The home is intentionally kept pet-free due to family allergies, making it a comfortable option for guests who value cleanliness and a low-allergen environment. Whether visiting for skiing, hiking, golf, or simply enjoying a peaceful stay in Big Bear, our property offers a rare balance of convenience and tranquility.
