About this property

Private Detached House With Superb Sea And Vineyard Views

This house sits on one of the most beautiful sites in the world. The ground floor consists of the bathroom, main bedroom and 'cabine' bedroom. Upstairs has a fully fitted kitchen and open plan living/dining area. Every room offers superb views. The interior is quite small however there is ample outdoor space, the large sea facing terrace gets the sun from early morning until evening, in addition to the main outdoor dining table there is a light portable dining table which you can take to other parts of the garden to enjoy the different views or indeed to get in or out of the sun, there is also a BBQ on wheels supplied. There is an exterior stone staircase which links the two floors. There is no interior staircase. It's located on a hill overlooking the sea and vineyards just a 10 minute walk to the beach and 20 minute walk to the lively village of Port Vendres. It is on a private two acre site with pine and eucalyptus trees ideal for hanging the hammock in the shade from which you can enjoy the sea and vineyard views while listening to the wonderful sound of silence! There is a steep driveway up to the house so it is not entirely suitable for the elderly or those with mobility problem. As the interior of the house is quite small, for your own comfort, we feel that 6 people is the maximum we can take in one group. Previous guests have described this house as 'magical' and 'a little corner of paradise'. One week may not be enough! Feel free to ask about our last minute booking deals.

Great holidays

Great holidays lots to see and do this house is great, well located on a hill overlooking the sea we felt really relaxed in the middle of nature so quite and peaceful and with the advantage of being so close to the village for night life and restaurants. I spent my time reading and painting on the beautiful terrass and the children explored the wonderful land that surrounds this house,their was lots to do see in the area like visiting collioure village and castle by boat from port-vendre harbor.The house was clean and had everything we needed. would recommend this location and village

Private, quiet house with a view of the sea

We loved our stay at this secluded house with its outdoor terrace and view of the sea. Walking out of the driveway into a national park was pretty fabulous. The owners couldn't have been more helpful with the house and steering us in the right directions in town. They are delightful people. And they are completely discreet, but warmly available if necessary. We don't really want to review this house, so no one will discover this special spot, but we can't help but recommend it!

à la limite de l'arnaque

accès dangereux et difficile en voiture. Environnement non protégé pour des animaux qui peuvent facilement chuter maison non conforme aux règles de confort minimal, en effet, un studio en bas avec wc et un studio au-dessus avec kitchenette mais sans wc. il faut choisir entre manger dormir ou aller aux wc et encore...il faut passer par un escalier extérieur à l'habitation sans éclairage. je doute que cette location puisse convenir à une famille avec enfants. je suis restée 1/4 h pour repartir aussitôt.

Lovely quiet location

The house is in a great location if you like peace and quiet with lovely views over the sea, the house isn’t luxurious but if you value watching the sunset in the grounds with no one else about and having beautiful coastal walks on your doorstep this is the place. It’s about a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive to Port Vendre restaurants which are excellent and mostly reasonably priced and 10 minutes walk to the beach.

Beautiful views on a splendid location

The location of the house is great. The quality of the interior unfortunately lags somewhat behind and despite the location by the sea there were more mosquitoes than we expected in the beginning of august. Nevertheless, we had a fantastic week with great evenings on the terrace, top quality fish in the nearby restaurant Le Poisson Rouge and we had lovely swims in the sea.

Mer, vignes et randonnées

Vue imprenable sur la mer et les vignes depuis les terrasses et la pièce principale. C''est magnifique et on ne s'en lasse pas. Le calme absolu en prime car aucun voisin à proximité. Bref : une location au top !! On reviendra, c'est sûr.

un havre de paix!

Maison à flanc de colline, face à la mer! Tranquille et bien équipée. Nous y avons passé un séjour ressourçant. Elle est très bien située pour randonner ou visiter les alentours! Un plus, nous avons pu venir avec notre chat! L'accueil parfait! Merci pour la bouteille de bienvenue.

Beautiful views

We really appreciated the warm and friendly welcome on arrival. The views from the terrace and upper viewpoint area are spectacular and we really enjoyed visiting the beaches and nearby towns such as Collioure where we had a couple of lovely meals out. We also enjoyed walking from the house on a morning to enjoy the scenery and a walk down to the local beach too. It is a very short drive to the nearest supermarket which was really handy. We missed comfortable seating to relax in around the house exterior as the garden is very rustic, the bunkbeds were a little uncomfortable for our older girls and it was very hot so a plug in fan for the night would have been ideal but it has a lot of charm and we had an enjoyable stay.

Merci pour l’accueil. Notre séjour était très agréable, la maison petite mais propre et fonctionnelle pour une famille avec ados (heureuses de dormir isolées en haut). Maison au calme avec une vue imprenable sur la mer. la route d’accès nous a un peu stressés au départ mais nous nous y sommes faits. Les chemins de balade à proximité sont très jolis et la petite plage en bas propre et idéale pour des premiers pas en snorkeling. In fine, nous pouvions quasiment tout faire a pied et avons peu profité des environs. Ce sera pour une autre fois.

Un lieu magnifique entouré de vignobles et de pins face à la mer.

Emplacement magnifique. Exceptionnel. Mais....maison très peu fonctionnelle : en bas douche avec WC, chambre très bien, petit renfoncement avec lit superposé. En haut une terrasse magnifique aussi. mais une seule pièce assez petite avec cuisine et petit canapé lit. Pas de sanitaires. Donc 18 marches d'escalier externe pour aller aux toilettes!!! Conclusion : y aller par beau temps, que à 2 personnes, ne craignant pas l'effort physique. C'est une maison utilisée aussi par les propriétaires, le ménage et rangement sont approximatifs et les matériels et linges de lit usagés.

Calme et sérénité

Juste avant le confinement de fin mars 2021, nous avons profité de cette propriété au milieu de vignes avec une très belle vue mer! Départ des randonnées vers la frontière espagnole facile. Le fait qu'il n'y ait pas de liaison intérieure entre le haut et le bas ne pose aucun soucis car il faisait très beau. Suzanne et Matthieu sont aussi très sympathiques! Nous recommandons!

Spectacular find

We were blown away by the views on arrival at Suzanne and Matthieu's property. Port-Vendres stands out among the surrounding towns as it feels less touristy and more authentically French (we only overheard one other English couple the whole week we were there). The food, coastal paths, bike routes and pottery shops were perfect for a week away from the city and the house has everything you need. Suzanne was extremely warm and helpful in giving restaurant and trip advice. Hope to be back again soon. Klara & Will

Calme et nature

Tout d'abord, il faut souligner que les hôtes, Mathieu et Suzanne, sont très sympathiques et réactifs en cas de question et/ou petit problème à régler. Les atouts de ce logement sont clairement le cadre verdoyant avec vue sur mer, ainsi que la grande et magnifique terrasse. Les équipements de la maison sont quant à eux assez sommaires mais fonctionnels. En résumé, cette maison est adéquate si comme nous vous recherchez un endroit très calme, reposant et en pleine nature. Elle le sera moins si vous recherchez un grand confort et des équipements modernes. Nous et nos enfants avons en tous les cas passé un très agréable séjour.

I am Irish and have lived in France for about 25 years. My partner is French and we have two little ones. We live all year round in the Pyrenees Orientales. I toured the world throughout my twenties but when I stumbled across Collioure and Port Vendres I knew instantly that I had found my new home. It is handy for our guests that we are close-by for any tips on the region or assistance that may be required during one's stay.

Why they chose this property

We choose to live in this part of the world because of it's sheer beauty, mild year-round climate, fantastic people, top quality wine, superb Catalan cuisine, beautiful clean beaches... need I go on?! It is easy to access with several low cost airlines flying into Perpignan, Gerona and Carcassonne and now one can fly from Dublin to Perpignan direct with Aer Lingus! Hurray!

What makes this property unique

Our villa is ideal for those who love nature, walking, snorkeling, diving, golfing, sunbathing, cycling, fine wines and gourmet dining or simply swinging in the hammock admiring the sea view! The house is extremely private, the gardens are huge and yet you are just a short stroll from the town and the beaches. Excellent wifi access.
