We love Roquetas because of its typically Spanish feel. We love eating out at the many bars and restaurants especially the Spanish ones where we can eat tapas whilst drinking Rioja. Roquetas offers something for everyone. We find the area quiet, relaxing and perfect for a family holiday or even a long weekend on our two own without the children. The area is set on flat terrain which makes it a perfect holiday destination for people with children in prams or people in wheelchairs. The area is easily accessible with Almeria airport approx 30 mins drive away.
What makes this Apartment unique
Our apartment has views right over the resort, you can see the sea and also the mountains from the balcony. We have 2 balconies one which is a roof terrace and is the full length of the apartment so is perfect for sun-worshippers. Our apartment benefits from the sun all day as it is south-westerly facing. There is a very good supermarket right over the road which is very well stocked with food and wine and even has a fresh fish counter. Having 2 children it was important to have an apartment which is a home from home for us. Our apartment has all that you need to have a relaxing self-catering holiday - Cot, English TV, DVD player, DVDs, games, books and Cds. The apartment is 5-7 minutes walk to the seafront. The beach is very clean and even has children's play areas along it.

A homely & confortable flat with personal touches from the owner to make stay enjoyable. Loved the terrace & the sun roof offering lvly views over the sea & mountain. Nice & very cleaned shared pool on site. Handy & well stocked supermarket just across the road. A very large & pebbly beach in 12 mn walk down main avenue. We loved the gentle pace, clean & relaxed atmosphere of Roquetas urbanisation. Ideal for a family holiday!

Good apartment,well situated.
Apartment suited us very well,air con, ceiling fans,good shower.Home from home really with cooker,fridge and washing machine.Located in an area good for supermarket,bus and beach not very far away.Too windy at the time to use roof terrace,but a good view.If by any chance you have any problems , contact owner or agent and it is dealt with very quickly.Tourist information across the road so you can find out anything.

Good Value and Convenient Location
We enjoyed our 2-week stay in this property. The building is very conveniently located at the top of the main tourist street, about 10 minutes' walk from a beautiful, kilometres-long beach. There is a large supermarket and plenty of restaurants, pubs, pharmacies, ATMs, etc, within a 5-minute walk. The underground parking is completely secure although a bit tight so a smaller car is recommended. The apartment is as-advertised and fully-equipped, and the local property manager is helpful and accessible. The two balconies are a real plus -- both very large and private with good sun exposure. The bathroom facilities are somewhat dated but are fully-functional, and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The main bedroom has a queen-sized mattress and the second bedroom has two single beds. All the mattresses are comfortable. One major drawback is the lack of WIFI in the unit -- we purchased a sim card at the local Vodafone store for 20 euros which filled the gap. All-in-all, we would recommend this unit for its overall value for money and convenient location.

We note what you have mentioned about the lack of WiFi. It is a balance between its cost and having to put our rental prices up to cover it but we will keep it under review. As you mention mobile Sim cards are readily available and our European guests can use their own mobile contracts without any roaming charges.

Good base for visit.
This was a good base in a good location for our visit to Spain. We found that the apartment was well equipped for our needs. We did not need to cook much so the small kitchen was not a problem. We have children so the pool and proximity to the beach were perfect. Everything was in good working order. There are plenty of restaurants, shops, etc. close by. My only suggestion would be to have a little more in the way of outdoor furnishings, but in reality, when in Spain we are out an about all day and most of the night so it was not a huge issue for a short term let.
We have just enjoyed a month at this property as a family of four including two young children. The property was as described in the details and was conveniently situated from the excellent beach approx 5 min walk, and approx 1 min walk from supermarket. The property was clean when arrived and good supply of fresh linen and towels provided. The communal pool was cleaned daily and we found @ 10am we pretty much had pool to ourselves could get very busy in late afternoon. Owners put us in touch with someone to arrange our airport transfers which was handy.
Owners had left several items for us to use for beach/pool which came in handy.
This is a very family orientated area, there is a very long promenade along beach front with shops, hotels and restaurants.
Also a good bus service just minutes from the apartment.
We found owners very efficient and give some good tips and information.

Excellent value for money
We've stayed in this apartment twice now and both times had a very good holiday. It's very well situated, 10 minutes walk to the beach (with kids), there is a supermarket opposite and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. The apartment is ideal for families with small children.
Our only criticism would be that it needs an awning or sunshade on the downstairs terrace, to keep the sun off the windows during the day.

The beach is a 5-7 minute walk from the apartment and has a flat promenade stretching for about 3 kms right along the beach front down to the castle, harbour and marina. The beach is deep and long so it hardly seems busy even in the summer months.
The nearest airport is Almeria, which is about 25 minutes drive away. Flights also go to Alicante and Murcia - about a 2 - 3 hour drive. Cars can be hired at the airport for collection on arrival and return on departure. Alternatively, take a cab for approx 40 euros each way. The local buses are regular and cost between 1 and 2 euros for local trip. The local supermarket provides everything you need to enjoy a self catering holiday and is only a minute's walk away.
The apartment is in the heart of Roquetas de Mar. Almeria is the nearest city which is about 30 minutes away by car but if you prefer not to hire a car and take the bus instead, it should cost approximately 2 euros per person each way. If you do decide to go to Almeria, please take in to consideration the siesta time (between 1pm-5pm) when all shops close.
Roquetas de Mar is an ideal place for walkers/cyclists/golfers/people who enjoy water sports. The Parque Natural is a huge nature reserve where flamingos can be seen living in their own natural habitat.
In the summer months, there is a water park the edge of the town (taxi costs about 5 euros each way), and, of course, the famous bull ring where you can see a bull fight or even a pop concert – see the Tourist Information Office for more details. There is also the Gran Plaza shopping centre where you can do a spot of shopping, have a coffee and watch the World go by or even see a film at the cinema.
There is a huge variety of bars and restaurants in close proximity to our apartment. Most of the Spanish bars serve excellent tapas free of charge when you purchase an alcoholic drink. Don't forget to sample some of the Serrano ham and some Jerez (sherry).
Alternatively, if a quiet night in is what you fancy, there is an excellent supermarket opposite our apartment with a fresh fish counter, deli counter and extensive wine selection.
