Casa do Mar is a uniquely positioned 640m² very large front line beach house with direct access to the sandy family friendly Luz beach only 20m from the pool, it is a true location, location, location house. With its un-interrupted spectacular sea views, a solar heated swimming pool, local management and contract cleaning service the house provides for the most wonderful, relaxing, family or large group holiday. The house sleeps up to 14 people and has large and numerous indoor and outdoor communal areas and terraces. The house sits on a huge plot of 9600 m² with stunning managed gardens, lawns and beautiful courtyards which means that there is plenty of room for privacy or group gatherings with space aplenty. The house is located in an exclusive, quiet, private villa area known as Parque da Praia and is not overlooked, yet is only a 3 minute stroll along the beach to all the restaurants, bars and shops. Fabulous trip

Fantastic Property and Location

Our group of 13 enjoyed a perfect family vacation at Casa do Mar. We have nothing but great things to say about our entire experience at this property. Susannah made every aspect of the process easy and helped us with transportation and a private chef (highly recommended). The location is amazing with great views, beautiful grounds, and walking distance to town for restaurants and shops. We used the pool and beach every day and ate every meal outside. There was plenty of room for our group. The house is well equipped and everything worked perfectly. We highly recommend this property.

We loved our stay at Casa Do Mar. Steps from the beach, wonderful outdoor patio, fun pool, easy walk to restaurants, lots of ocean toys to rent nearby. The house has many gathering areas and worked perfectly for our family of 10 (7 adults, 3 children under 6). The hosts were wonderful and very prompt in answering any question. Our twelve family members found this Casa to be absolutely excellent. We rented it to celebrate our 80th birthday and it suited all of us aged 8 to 80. The position right on the beach with large grounds and not surrounded by other properties suited very well. Plenty of space indoors and out and well fitted.

Hands down an amazing experience from beginning to end. Amazing view and amenities!!

We booked this house for the week of our daughter’s wedding. We were a large group with five kids and spouses, the house handled it great! The kitchen is very well stocked for huge crowds like us. We enjoyed the heated pool, access straight out to the beach and pretty sure the ping pong table was used 24/7. We bbq-ed three times and cooked in most days, having gorgeous morning and evening meals on the veranda. It was still chilly enough at night to light a log burning fire place and snuggle in for games, the chopped logs are provided. We could not have enjoyed our stay here more and look forward to returning!

Wonderful from beginning to end!

As soon as I sent a request for more information about the property the customer service and communication has been amazing. Susannah answered quickly and helpfully all of our requests and went the extra mile numerous times - sorting car hire/transfers etc. Once at the property Will was always on hand with any requests and was very helpful.The property itself is amazing and the location was incredible. To be right on the beach with all the space was just wonderful. A very short walk to all the restaurants and bars was also a bonus. Although we were a small group this time we will definitely be back with a larger group to take full advantage of all the villa has to offer!

Beachside Paradise

Wow! We cannot imagine a better European beach holiday, and the house was a the highlight and hub for our activities. The house has character, pizazz, history, and charm. And it is private, too. I had to pinch myself daily as I sat in the patio and gazed into the ocean. This house was a treat! The house managers were wonderful. We were blessed to be there.

Beachfront Villa, Praia de Luz

Casa do Mar is a huge, six bedroomed, perfectly located villa with a large swimming pool and lovely extensive gardens with its own path leading down to the beautiful Praia de Luz beach. We were a party of 5 adults and 5 kids and there was plenty of space to spare both inside the villa and outside on the patio as well as round the pool and the gardens. The villa is full of character and is equipped with everything you need and more. Excellent communication from Susannah made all the pre-holiday arrangements easy and Will was at hand on site when we encountered a minor problem. All in all Casa do Mar is the perfect place to stay for a large party.

The most incredible location and view.....

This is an incredibly unique property. It’s quite special that the family rent it out. It’s a historic property with breathtaking gardens leading onto the beach whilst only steps from fabulous restaurants and bars. The coastal path is easy to access, so a morning walk or jog followed by coffee in one of the cafes is just perfect. The house is quirky, very special and a unique property. It is also huge!!!!! The beds are super comfortable......it was our first visit to Portugal and I think we have been very spoilt by the location and Villa. The owners were super helpful every step of the way, even doing some pre arrival shopping for us.

Slice of heaven

Simply splendid. Our group of nine, including a small child, baby, grandparents and parents, thoroughly enjoyed our time at Caso do Mar. The villa is immaculate, well equipped, tastefully decorated, extremely comfortable and secure, and offers the best views and beach access in town. You are a stones throw from the promenade and restaurants, and the town boasts some incredible hikes! You’ll feel like royalty staying at the villa- between the lovely pool, manicured exquisite gardens, an abundance of palatial places to play and relax, it’s a little slice of paradise. Susannah was so lovely to work with while planning our stay, Will was a joy to intreract with once at the villa, and Anna- the main house cleaner was so sweet. We highly recommend this villa if you want a no stress, unforgettable, very special holiday vacation in Luz with a group!

Absolutely Gorgeous Property with an Unforgettable View!

We stayed with two other families, six adults and four teenagers in this amazing property. Pictures are as shown. The property is a bit older but retains its charm and beauty that way. The location is spectacular and we spent every morning and night enjoying the view. House is fully stocked with everything you need. William is responsive during our stay and went WAY out of his way to get us all the supplies we needed. Susannah is a great communicator and we felt well taken care of. It was an amazing trip, even with three days of unexpected rain and wind, it didn’t dimmer the beauty of this wonderful home. None of us wanted to leave. It’s paradise found at the end of the world!

Great comfy villa for large family group

We had a lovely holiday at Casa da Mar. We were 3 generations including 4 grandchildren under 10. The villa is very spacious and comfortable and located in a prime position attached to Praia da Luz beach. It is not a modern, pristine villa without character but this is an essential part of its charm. There is enough space to be able to find a quiet spot for a bit of reading whilst the rest of the family followed more active pursuits. It is well equipped and very clean and the maid services was thorough and flexible. Will was on hand to answer any queries that we had (the cooker was a bit quirky but worked well once it was understood). . The gardens are well maintained with enough space for kicking a football around and the pool is pleasantly warmed via solar heating. It was great to return to P da Luz after 8 years and find that few things had changed. It retains its basic Portuguese charm. We mixed BBQ's at the villa with eating out and restaurants were easily walked to. Overall, I highly recommend Casa da Mar as a family villa for a big party with young children.

PERFECT family getaway

Great beachfront villa. We were a family of 8 adults and a 2 year old. The villa has 3 master suites with ensuite. 3 other bedrooms and 2 additional bathrooms. Very large inside and out. More than enough room for sun and shade outside. 2 living rooms, dining, very good kitchen, laundry. But the location is the deal maker! Great pool, grassy area. Steps to the beach and the lovely town of Luz. Many many restaurtants, 2 good supermarkets. We did go into the Lagos for groceries one day, but it isn't necessary. Luba, the housekeeper, makes sure everything is spotless and in working order. A pool shed had all the beach and pool toys needed. When we didn't dine out, we ate all our meals at the large outdoor dining table, right next to the very nice barbecue (grill). Susannah was a dream to deal with! I could go on and on ...... dreaming of the Algarve and this amazing villa! I can't imagine anyone being disapointed with this rental.

Onvergetelijke tijd gehad

Wat een geweldige tijd hebben we gehad in Casa do Mar. Het contact vooraf was al uiterst plezierig. Omdat we pas laat arriveerden is er gezorgd voor boodschappen, alles keurig ingeruimd in koelkast, kast en fruit op tafel. Subliem! De bedden waren opgemaakt op de manier die we van tevoren hebben afgesproken, alles keurig zelfs met verse bloemen op tafel. En wat was alles super schoon. Wat een unieke locatie op een unieke plek: Prachtige tuin, heel veel ruimte in en om het huis, uitzicht op zee en het strand is op 20 meter achter het huis. En een super zwembad in de tuin. En alsof het nog niet genoeg is, werd er halverwege de week grondig schoon gemaakt, handdoeken vervangen en bloemen ververst. Heel prettig contact met de huismeester. Een absolute aanrader!!

Lovely villa

We had a really enjoyable week at Caso do Mar. The location is second to none, you literally step from the lovely garden on to the beach and a it is only a short walk to the town and restaurants. You can also go for walks up the cliffs just behind the house. The house is spacious and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone indoors and out.. Kitchen has all that you need and beds are comfortable. Pool is a good size and warmer than the sea! Will is very helpful if you have any problems. Thoroughly recommend!

This Was a Hit With the Whole Family

I cannot think of a better place than this for a family vacation. Our group ranged in age from 2-68 and everyone found the stay great. Having 2+ acres of yard to play in and a pool did the trick for the younger family members. The 30-40 crowd really enjoyed the restaurants and shops in Luz, only steps away. My wife and I enjoyed just hanging out at the house with the breath taking view. And everyone loved being able to step from "our" yard onto the beach. It was a magical experience. Property maintenance and cleaning were executed flawlessly by the staff, who genuinely care about the house. With 4 grandchildren, daily housekeeping was a must. Minor problems were addressed quickly and we had no major problems. We are already making plans to come again for our daughter's 40th birthday in 2 years. See you soon William and Susannah. Casa do Mar was purchased in 1972 by the current owners from the original designer and builder of the house who completed it in the late 1960's. I have stayed in Casa do Mar many times as a child with my family and latterly with my own children and I now have the pleasure of helping to manage the house for the current owners. Having a contract cleaning service and local manager to take care of the house and change the linens and keep things just right means that you can really switch off and enjoy your holiday. Even when the house is full (it can accommodate 3 families easily), you never feel crowded which is often the case in most villas as there is so much space to spread out. There is a huge front terrace running the full width of the house, a separate big terrace by the lovely pool, several courtyards and lawns aplenty for everyone to have somewhere quiet to relax. There is also a lovely marble outside dining table where you can sit in the shade enjoying long lazy lunches before flopping into the pool or going for a glass of wine on the beach as the sun sets. Its location brings great serenity as well as lots of fun, joy and relaxation.
