The Cozy Nook Residence is located in a quiet blind alley with flowering hedges of jasmines and bougainvillea. Built in 99 in pure Madeira style on the ground of an old farm, blends with the surrounding gardens and jacaranda trees.

Only 5 minutes from the centre of Funchal, The Cozy Nook Residence stands on two floors with a private garden where you will find our tropical banana trees.

The ground floor welcomes you with a large living lounge with a dining area and comfortable sofas close to the fireplace (in winter - for us - Madeira - 16ÂșC is cold!!!).
at the same floor a fully equipped kitchen with a large breakfast table opens over a back garden where you will find a barbecue. One guest bathroom completes the facilities at the ground floor.

Going up the stairs to the first floor to discover the comfort of three spacious bedrooms, 2 with double beds and one with twin beds - and two more bathrooms (one in suite). A big terrace serves the main bedroom.

Beautiful location, very nice house, very bad beds

After arriving late in the evening after three flights, it was only with the help of the Hertz rental car agent calling Giorgio we were able to locate the house. The GPS in our car didn’t recognize the address. Bless Giorgio, he waited in the very narrow alley for us to check us in. The house was lovely and well equipped, but the beds in the two bedrooms we used were both awful. Springs were popping through. My husband believes we were sleeping on box springs. We did pull the duvet off the third bedroom bed on our last night to pad our bed. Our friends did something similar in their room. The location worked well with a rental car, but for four 70 something adults getting into town and back would be more than challenging.

Magnifique séjour dans un endroit trÚs convivial pour 6

TrĂšs facile de rĂ©server l’endroit! TrĂšs charmante maison! Un peu dĂ©rangĂ© par les chiens - tous les voisins ont des chiens- mais pas trop! Une voiture est nĂ©cessaire et la conduite est challengeante! Pour nous l’endroit Ă©tait parfait! Beau quartier! Un petit cafĂ© Ă  distance de marche! 2 restos locaux typiques pas trop loin et pas trop cher!!! Vraiment bien! Les lits Ă©taient confortables! L’espace est vaste Ă  l’extĂ©rieur Ă©galement! Nous avons passĂ© un trĂšs beau sĂ©jour sur cette belle Ăźle relaxante! Merci beaucoup Giorgio!

Wohnung in Funchal in ruhiger Sackgasse???????

Auf den Bildern macht das Objekt einen guten Eindruck. Leider ist es schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und es wurde auch nicht viel gemacht. In der ersten Etage fehlen Steckdosen, so das es dort nicht möglich war, sich die Haare zu föhnen. Duschen war ein Abenteuer: ob man warm duschen konnte war Roulettspiel. Meist wurde das Wasser nach kurzer Zeit kalt. Das Haus war sehr schattig und so fĂŒhlte es sich teilweise auch klamm an. Dem an die KĂŒche angrenzenden Innenhof tĂ€te einmal kĂ€rchern gut und den WĂ€nden ein Eimer Farbe. Die Zufahrt ist nur ĂŒber sehr enge Gassen möglich und die Sackgasse ist sehr eng. 5 Minuten bis zur Innenstadt entspricht nicht der Wahrheit. Zu Fuß sind es ca. 45 Min, mit dem Auto ca 15 Min. Auch die busse fahren sehr unregelmĂ€ĂŸig. Von der Stadt fĂŒhrte der Weg nur ĂŒber eine Steigung ( ca 10-20 %) nach oben. Die Besitzer machten beim Einchecken einen Guten Eindruck, aber dann haben wir sie nicht mehr gesehen. Mit offenen Fenstern konnte man nicht schlafen, da die ganze Nacht Hunde klĂ€fften und man auch die nahegelegene VR1 (Stadtautobahn) hörte. Die auf den Bildern abgebikdeten LiegestĂŒhle konnten wir nicht benutzen, da das Material in die Jahre gekommen ist.

Familie zum Wanderurlaub auf Madeira

Wir haben unseren Urlaub sehr genossen! Das Haus bietet viel Platz, die beiden BĂ€der und die zusĂ€tzliche Toilette mit Bidet im Erdgeschoss sorgen dafĂŒr, dass es keinen Stau beim Duschen gibt bzw. jemand zeitgleich seinem GeschĂ€ft nachgehen muss. Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig in einer Sackgasse aber dennoch zentral genug als Ausgangspunkt fĂŒr Wanderungen oder fĂŒr einen Spaziergang ins Zentrum. Es gibt einen Stellplatz direkt auf dem GrundstĂŒck fĂŒr einen Mietwagen, wenn man nicht alles mit dem Bus erledigen mag. Direkt um die Ecke gibt es einen kleinen Supermarkt mit ausreichend und gutem Sortiment und zwei BĂ€ckerei. Außerdem eine kleine Bar, wenn man nach einem langen Tag Lust auf ein kaltes Bier hat. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Da er direkt gegenĂŒber wohnt, bekommt man immer unmittelbar kompetente Hilfe. Das Haus verfĂŒgt ĂŒber drei separate Schlafzimmer im Obergeschoss. Die Betten sind eher schmal (max 1,40m) und kurz. Falls man grĂ¶ĂŸer als 1,80m ist sollte man darauf vorbereitet sein, dass die FĂŒĂŸe ggfs am Ende hinausragen. Wir haben uns arrangiert und nach erster Eingewöhnung gut geschlafen. Hinter der KĂŒche befindet sich ein kleiner Innenhof mit einer Grill-Gelegenheit. Diese haben wir mehrfach genutzt. Alles in allem hatten wir einen sehr schönen Urlaub und wĂŒrden dieses Haus wieder buchen. WĂŒnschen wĂŒrden wir uns Sitzmöbel fĂŒr den Balkon oben.

Ruime schone woning met ruime tuin waar het heerlijk ontbijten is in de ochtend. Fijne eigenaar die aan de overzijde van het huis woont en die je helpt als er problemen zijn. Rustige omgeving en een mooi uitzicht naar de oceaan. Ruime kamers, kortom perfect huis👍

Lovely house in neighborhood just above town

Giorgio is a very attentive host and was helpful to us. The house is large for the two of us and could accommodate 4 very well. We rented a car and the location is great for either going into town or driving to other locations on Madeira. Walking would not be easy and maybe difficult to find. The house is on a dead end street so fairly quite, except for some occasional dog barking. I enjoyed being away from the tourist area.

Una casa para volver

La casa es estupenda. Las fotografías que aparecen reflejan lo que es. Lo que no pueden reflejar esas fotografías es la tranquilidad y el sosiego. Es cierto que hay perros que ladran -muy de vez en cuando y en horarios que no afectan al descanso- pero el espacio que rodea la casa es muy acogedor y tranquilo. El jardín es estupendo, acondicionado para poder desayunar y cenar en él. La casa espaciosa y en muy buen estado. Estaba limpia y el lunes pasó una persona para volver a limpiar. Es cierto que estå un poco retirada del centro pero eso le da dos ventajas: 1. que es un lugar que permite la tranquilidad después de un día de excursión y 2. tiene una temperatura mås agradable que en el centro de Funchal. Lo ideal es tener un coche pero hay varias paradas de autobus muy cerca. Ademås, para pequeñas compras hay un supermercado Amanecer muy cerca así como una panadería/pastelería estupenda a un paseo de la casa.

appréciations de notre séjour

Séjour trÚs agréable sur l'ile de Madeire.Location trÚs propre avec femme de ménage à la moitié du séjour sans frais supplémentaires. Le propriétaire est venu nous chercher à l'aéroport pour nous guider heureusement car nous aurions difficilement trouvé mais avec ses explications trÚs facile de se repérer dans Funchal.quartier trÚs calme. Prévoir une voiture assez puissante car il y a des cÎtes difficiles à monter dans la ville et l'ile est toute en montées et descentes. grand choix de restaurants à 100m du bord de mer. Beaucoup de jardins à visiter et beaucoup de randonnées pour les marcheurs amateurs ou expérimentés. je recommande cette location vous ne serez pas déçus!!!!!

Tolles Haus mit kleinen Schönheitsfehlern

Erstmal vorweg: die Villa ist sehr gerĂ€umig und sehr gepflegt. Auch die Einrichtung ist komfortabel. Die Vermieter sind sehr aufmerksam, wenn man etwas benötigt, wird es kurzfristig beschafft. Die Beschreibung der RĂ€umlichkeiten ist wie vorgefunden, die Bilder sind wirklich authentisch. Nun zu den kleinen Schönheitsfehlern, aber die sind wirklich subjektiv, andere GĂ€ste mögen sich daran gar nicht stören. 1. Die Entfernung zur Stadt wird mit 5 Minuten angegeben. Das wĂŒrde stimmern, könnte man fliegen. TatsĂ€chlich ist es mit dem Auto bis unten ca. 10 Minuten, mit dem Bus ca. 20 Minuten und zu Fuß ca. 35 Minuten. Wir haben alle Varianten ausprobiert. Die Straßen sind extrem steil, kennt man bei uns in Deutschland so nicht. Zu Fuß ist das nur fĂŒr Leute ohne Knie- oder RĂŒckenschĂ€den möglich. Der Bus hĂ€lt allerdings gut erreichbar in ca. 4 Min. Fußweg entfernt. Er fĂ€hrt jedoch Sonntags nicht. Taxi nach unten kostet ca. 8 - 10 Euro, je nachdem, wohin man fĂ€hrt. 2. Ruhige Seitenstraße stimmt. Allerdings hört man bedingt durch die Hanglage nachts sehr viele Hunde bellen, was ein bißchen nervig ist. Teilweise pushen sie sich gegenseitig, aber man kann ja die Fenster schließen. 3. Zu den Betten: Nur in einem Schlafzimmer sind normal große Betten mit 90 cm Breite (2 StĂŒck). Das "große" französische Bett misst 140 cm Breite, das "kleine" französiche Bett nur 120 cm. Diese beide Betten haben auch nur eine gemeinsame Matratze und eine Bettdecke. FĂŒr uns war das okayl, da wir nur zu viert waren, aber fĂŒr 2 weitere Erwachsenen wĂ€re es knapp geworden. 4. Leider empfanden wir das als das grĂ¶ĂŸte Manko: Die Villa ist kein Haus, das man alleine bewohnt. In der Mansarde ist ebenfalls eine Wohnung, die belegt war, als wir dort weilten. Darauf wird nicht hingewiesen und der Eingang ist auch gar nicht sofort zu sehen. Das war sehr störend, denn da diese Wohnung sich direkt ĂŒber den SchlafrĂ€umen befindet, nimmt man sehr am Leben oben teil (das Haus ist typisch sĂŒdlich sehr hellhörig), von nĂ€chtlichen TurnĂŒbungen ĂŒber ToilettengĂ€nge bis lauteren GesprĂ€chen. SCHADE! Vor Allem, weil man annimmt, man hĂ€tte ein Haus fĂŒr sich alleine. Achso, nochwas fehlte, störte uns aber nicht: Es gibt nicht wie angegeben Radio, CD-Player oder Kassettenrecorder. Wers braucht, einfach fragen! Trotzdem war es ein sehr schöner Urlaub, Madeira ist toll und es sind ja auch nur unsere EindrĂŒcke. Wen das alles nicht stört, dem kann man das Haus und die netten Vermieter unbedingt empfehlen. VIELEN DANK!
