Excellent holiday house at any time of the year situated on a private road in Constantine Bay (famous for its beaches and surfing) with sea views from the master bedroom, dining room and garden of the spectacular Atlantic coast. A safe 4 minute walk to the championship golf course at Trevose (which also has two other courses, padel & tennis and swimming pool - ideal for young families) and a further 6 minutes to the sand dunes and a choice of wonderful beaches. The centrally heated house with polished wooden floors is comfortably furnished with Heals sofas, Baxi Cornish slate open fireplace in the sitting room plus an attractive dining room and is either ideal for a couple or a small group. Three bedrooms, 1 bathroom upstairs; 1 double bedroom e/s wetroom, 1 twin bedroom, shower room, and WC downstairs. French windows from the sitting room lead out to a south facing slate terrace and attractive sunny garden. There is an excellent food shop in the village and good food, other shopping and eating out in nearby Padstow. Ample off-road parking.

Lovely comfortable place conveniently situated close to a stunning coastline

Well equipped and comfortable home from home perfect for large groups. Also a great place to take your family pet. Not too posh that you worry about them being there but nice enough to feel relaxed in a lovely setting. A little tired in places but felt homely and was perfect for our needs. Pity the garden wasn’t completely fenced so couldn’t leave the dogs running free. All in all I’d recommend this place and would happily go there again.

The Blue House is a much loved family house bought by Nicola and Charles Talbot for their seven children in 1995. Living in Kent leading busy lives running a farm estate and wedding venue, The Blue House has proved a haven for retreat over the years.

Why they chose this property

We wanted a house by the sea which we could go with our family. Constantine is a lovely place for people of all ages. We ourselves do not use the car much but are very happy to be in the locality of golf, sea beaches, coastal walks and wonderful sunsets and enjoying the comfort and good ambiance that The Blue House and delightful Padstow offers. From West London it takes about 4 and a half hours so it is not that far. It's lovely driving past Stonehenge and later past Dartmoor, along the length of Bodmin Moor and then making your way to the coast. The house is in a very quiet location (no aeroplanes or sound of traffic, perhaps just a hedgecutter in summer) and everything that we like is on your doorstep. For meeting friends Newquay Airport is only 20 minutes away. Climate: usually good!

What makes this property unique

The layout of the downstairs works particularly well with a well proportioned sunny sitting room leading out to the terrace. The living areas are linked but can be separated. The furnishings are good quality and have a beachy seaside feel. The south garden is attractively foliaged. Ample parking and ease of access. The downstairs is all on one level which may suit some people very well. Some nice pictures on the walls. Good selection of indoor games for all ages and plenty of books to read or browse including a section on Cornwall and its history. For musicians the piano is quite a good upright and is at one end of the sitting room. The dining room (between the kitchen and the sitting room) is bright and airy and a pleasant space for enjoying the light and the magical sunsets.
