A great location to visit places of interest
The property was very spacious and accommodated our family well. 4 adults and 4 children aged 6 - 10. You have everything on hand to ensure that this is a home from home. Andrew the owner is very approachable and gives lots of useful information about the property, the local area and good places to visit.
We enjoyed eating outside - although we moved the picnic bench to the front lawn as this is where the sun was in the evening. We all played in the garden - we took plenty of outdoor games, so could play basketball, tennis and football.
The weather was mixed but this did not deter from the holiday. The farmhouse has heaters which can be put on when it goes a little cold.
This is a good place to spend time with family or friends to have quality time.

Wonderful House near Villedieu les poeles
This was the fifth time we have stayed L' Abri. We keep going back as it suits us and our friends so well. The house is peaceful and quiet with a huge garden and plenty of room for a large family or group of friends. It is less than ten minutes drive to Villedieu les poeles which is one of our favourite places in Normandy. The town has a great market on a Tuesday and enough places to eat with a variety of prices to suit all tastes. We uaually have Moule frites at the Union Bar, the Plat du Jour at Le Pussoir and round off our holiday with a special evening meal at La Ferme de Malte . It is easy to visit Avranches, Bayeux, Mont St Michel, Granville and Fougeres when when staying at L' Abri and this year we also went further afield to Honfleur and Lisieux. After a full day out it is lovely to return to L' Abri ( well-named "the shelter/sanctuary " )and to sit outside watching the stars as there is almost no light pollution and listen to the sounds of the countryside. The owner, Andrew is very helpful and provides a lot of information about the house and places to visit nearby. We will definitely be returning !

LOVELY FAMILY HOLIDAY
Excellent place for a family holiday with plenty of beds, and a large garden where children can run around safely. The kitchen is well equipped and there is plenty of fridge and freezer space. The boulangerie is 5 minutes drive away for the morning croissants, and they also sell milk and some groceries. The local town of Villedieu is well worth a visit, especially on market day, and the zoo on the other side of the town is excellent and very family friendly.
The top (attic) bedrooms can be affected by noise from below as there is no door on either staircase leading to them. If you use the BBQ please clean it for the next guests as it's not pleasant to have to do this before you can use it. We had a problem with the gas running out while cooking a meal but we did a workaround and the cylinder was replaced the next day.
Overall we very much enjoyed our stay there and would be happy to return.

Great base for a Normandy Holiday
We stayed here for the first week in August. the property is a real treat. It is located in a quiet rural setting in close proximity to the small town of Villedieu-les-Poeles. It has a large lounge, dining room and well fitted kitchen. The accommodation sleeps 12 in comfort, we actually had a childs cot as well. I have stayed in many rentals across Europe and I have to say that this was one of the best. The owner Andrew, was a delight to deal with as was his agent Patricia in France who made sure we had everything we needed. Andrew even contacted me during the stay to ensure that all was well. This speaks volumes of his desire to give a first class service. Would I use this house again ...... definitely. The only point of improvement that I would suggest is an update on the photos used in the advert. They do not do this house justice. Thank you for a great holiday. Gerry Magee

We loved this house!
This is a lovely house in beautiful countryside. We were delighted to stay there. It was perfect for an extended family group including young children who enjoyed playing in the big, secure garden. The surrounding area is lovely and full of interesting things to visit. We went to the beach (about 20 miles away) a couple of times and enjoyed spending time in Villedieu-les-Poeles. There's a brilliant zoo not far away, Le-Mont-St-Michel is less than an hour away and there's quiet lanes to cycle in.
