About this property
Stunning luxury cliff top retreat - direct access to the South West Coast Path.
Cancleave has been in the family since 1962. During the winter of 2020/21 it underwent a complete knockdown and rebuild to create a modern, energy efficient and comfortable property.
Cancleave is situated in beautiful North Cornwall, on the coast road between Crackington Haven and Widemouth Bay. With a large lawned garden bordering the South West Coast Path, it commands extensive views across Bude Bay.
The property lies within the North Cornwall designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as well as the Boscastle to Widemouth SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest). Nearby Widemouth Bay, Bude and Crackington Haven beaches are all patrolled by RNLI lifeguards on a seasonal basis, as are many of the other beaches in the area.
It makes a great base to expolore the many attractions and delights that North Cornwall has to offer. From the coast path outside the gate, the numerous picturesque coastal villages, nearby Bodmin Moor and the highly acclaimed Eden Project slightly further afield, there is something for everyone.
The attractions are too numerous to list and the best bit is exploring for yourself.

About the host
Hosted by Patrick Cummins

I've lived in Crackington Haven, North Cornwall since the age of 3 apart from a period of time working away and overseas. I met my wife in Hong Kong in 1998 and since moving back permanently in 2004 we have been running Cancleave.
My mother purchased Cancleave in 1962 as a timber framed building.
Over the years Cancleave has been extended and improved but for a few years we have had a dream to redevelop it. After much wrangling with the planners work on the 'All New Cancleave' began in October 2020 and on 12th June 2021 we welcomed the first guests to the new property. The new construction is incredibly well insulated, energy efficient and comfortable and really makes the most of the stunning location.
Having grown up in the area I have a love of surfing, the beaches and walking the coast paths. Each season brings its own beauty and characteristics from balmy June days with seemingly endless daylight hours to dark stormy winter days which can be incredible to witness.
