About this property
Stylish Home with Parking, Minutes from Beach
Summary:
This bright and beautiful cottage combines two of the very best things: stunning coastal views and stylish contemporary design. You’re a stone's throw from Summerleaze beach, meaning you can be back from a day in the sea and in the shower within a quick 5 minute walk. Spacious open-plan rooms are complimented with floor-to-ceiling windows that allow plenty of natural light to flood in. Meanwhile, joyful pops of colour and mid-century modern pieces create a scheme that’s uplifting yet relaxing.
The Space:
The upstairs is the real hub of the home and has ample room for relaxing after day’s on the beach or out exploring the rugged coastline. When the storm clouds roll in, light the wood-burning fire and get cosy on the sofas and armchairs. Both the living room and additional snug have smart TVs with apps so you won’t struggle to find something to watch. On sunny days, spend relaxing days sunbathing on your sun loungers in the courtyard and evenings eating alfresco on the terrace. The sunsets are spectacular! A well-stocked kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm, with the addition of a Nespresso coffee machine for those much-needed morning brews.
Four bedrooms sleep eight guests comfortably, making it the perfect spot for family get-togethers or adventures with friends. The sunlit master bedroom is comfy and calming with a private en-suite bathroom with a shower. There is an additional double and twin rooms, as well as bunks for children. With a family bathroom that boasts a roll-top bath, plus a separate contemporary shower room, everyone can rest assured they’ll have plenty of space to spread out and relax! There is also private parking for 1 vehicle in the locked garage, with your own EV charger and space to store your surfboards.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the whole cottage and garden.
The Neighborhood:
Bude is a popular seaside town on the north coast of Cornwall; thanks to its peaceful waterways, beautiful beaches and relaxed feel. With plenty of wide-open spaces, the town is a real hotspot for outdoor activities - surfing, cycling, walking, paddle-boarding. You can even rent a pedalo and gently drift off down the canal. There are a number of pretty lifeguarded beaches in the area, all of which are a short distance from the home. Summerleaze, Breakwater, Crooklets and Widemouth Bay to name a few. Surfing can be enjoyed all year round along the coast, and beginners can enjoy a lesson or two at the Big Blue Surf School! Nearby Summerleaze really comes into its own as it is home to the Bude Tidal Pool - a brilliant outdoor swimming pool which provides a sheltered place for all, year-round.
Avid walkers can pick up the South West Coastal Path from the coastline and follow it all the way to the Hartland Cornwall Heritage Coast. A real hidden gem, we would recommend visiting the wonderful Spekes Mill Waterfall. So beautiful, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into the film setting of The Hobbit!
Bude town centre is a bustling place to be with so much to offer. Sit back with a pint of local ale at one of the many beach restaurants: Life’s a Beach, Crooklets Beach Café, The Beach at Bude, Rosie’s Kitchen, and Sandymouth Café. The understated Temple is an essential experience for food lovers. Small but mighty, enjoy great coffee to fresh local produce with an evening menu that changes with the seasons. The Barge is a friendly tearoom/restaurant serving traditional and modern food, meanwhile The Olive Tree offers lots of options for vegetarians. A local’s spot, 2 Belle Vue is a relaxed bistro where you can taste fresh seafood caught that morning! In the town centre, you will find an array of shops from the independent to the surf-oriented.
Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of Cornwall, we would recommend bringing a car for your stay. With Summerleaze Beach on your doorstep and Bude Town a short walk away, it's unlikely you'll need to use your wheels much during your stay. However, it is useful to have when exploring the beautiful surrounding area! There is also private parking for 1 vehicle in the locked garage, which can also be used to charge EVs (regular 13A sockets) and store surfboards.
Other Things to Note:
Well behaved dogs are welcome with a fee of £20/dog (max 2). It is on the condition they are not allowed on the soft furnishings or in the bedrooms, are cleaned up after and are not left in the property unattended.
Interaction with Guests:
We will be available via message, email and phone during your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
