This is a bright and airy second floor flat in a Georgian house. The open-plan lounge lounge and the bedroom can be separated by large sliding doors. The lounge and kitchen to the front overlook Regent Square, while the bedroom to the rear is south facing over St.Georges Gardens so the flat is surrounded by mature trees. A mix of original features, modern design and some art give the flat its sophisticated but cosy atmosphere. It is my privat flat, when I rent out I'm leaving London for Switzerland or France, therefore the minimum rental period is one week.

Dieter’s apartment was a great home base while staying in London for my sabbatical. The instructions on how to access the apartment were very clear, the decor was lovely and exactly as listed, and the neighborhood had anything and everything I could need nearby. Thank you for a great stay!
Excellent flat. Very well equipped and superb location near Kings Cross and Russell Square. Nice area with gardens back and front. Dieter is also a very helpful host.
We loved staying at Dieter’s flat. I was at a conference at UCL, and it was a nice walking distance to the university. The area is lovely, and there’s a fantastic grocery store (Sainsbury) quite close by, as well as ample options for takeout, gelato, coffee, and anything else you might need.
Dieter was a wonderful host and his home was well appointed. Easy access to Kings Cross station for travel around London and internationally. Quiet neighborhood.
Comfortable bed and modern bathroom and kitchen. The designer did incredible things to utilize every spare space.
Thank you so much for the gracious hospitality.
We had a wonderful London holiday staying in Dieter's apartment. He went over the top in making sure we had the information for check in, use of his modern and updated apartment. The location was extremely convenient to King's Cross/St. Pancras station, making local trips and eventually Eurostar to Paris super easy. The apartment was very clean and comfortable.

Thomas was a great guest and it was a pleasure to host him.
He is clean and tidy and left my apartment in a great condition.
Good communication throughout the stay.
I would definitely recommend hosting him.
Our first impression of the property was that "we're really going to like the location" after a 6-7 minute walk there from King's Cross station. After two weeks, however, we were more impressed with the quality and diversity of the nearby dining options. We ate every bit as well in London as we would in San Francisco. Two of the finest dining establishments in the city, St. John's and Ciao Bella were either a short walk or short "tube" ride away. In addition to those two establishments, we ate a variety of ethnic restaurants--Indian, Middle Eastern and Chinese. Don't get me wrong. The location was perfect--walking distance to the two international train stations, the British Library and the British Museum--but, if possible, the food was more so. We did not spend a lot of time at the apartment, but it was plenty large, comfortable and, thankfully quiet. The latter was important after staying in a noisy flat near Dublin's Temple Bar. Definitely something to consider on our next trip to London.
Spent 32 days (Dec. 2024).ProsExcellent host--responds quickly, willingly adapts to your needs, very friendlyIncredible location--Kings Cross, St. Pancras, and Euston train stations within walking and luggage-carrying distance; Brunswick Ctr. 5 minutes walking distance with large Waitrose, Curzon Cinema, restaurants, coffee shops, arcade, etc.; bus stops serving major routes and subway stations 10 minutes walking distanceFully stocked home--kitchen supplies, washer/dryer & drying rack, television with cable, faultless wifiGreat lighting--large front and back windows (with nice views) allow for brightly lit roomsAmple storage--bedroom and bathroom were cleared out to allow for visitors' useDesk--Shelving under bedroom window with chair and outlet made for useful desk with nice viewConsNo microwaveSmallish refrigerator and freezer40 steps up steep switchback stairs from street to flat doorUncomfortable furniture--rigid plastic kitchen chairs, wide & stiff living room couch, low & deep-seated chair, very hard mattressI recommend this flat and would likely rent it again. Walked all over London from this prime central location (but easily accessed public transportation when weather or time required it). Ate at local restaurants that were all excellent (Dishoom, Harrison Pub, Half Cup, Sandwich Street, Riding House). Saw several films from the many playing at Curzon Cinema. 4 of 5 stars only reflects my personal discomfort in furniture. Otherwise, excellent.
With open spaces in front and behind the apartment, it's a surprisingly quiet and peaceful place for such a central location. Super convenient to the British Museum, British Library, and much else. Stylish and thoughtfully equipped flat, too. It was a great place to stay for both work and sightseeing. (My trip was some of both.)
This flat is beautiful, quiet, well-located, and perfectly furnished to enable an easy visit to London. The walking distance to the Tube/train stations and shops, plus the serene parks in front and behind the building made it an ideal location. Evening cross breezes cooled it quickly in the summer, and the small kitchen was thoughtfully complete with all necessities. When work brings me to London again, I hope to be able to return.
This was a lovely flat in a perfect location. Would highly recommend flat and property owner who was flexible and easy to contact. Will hopefully return!

Thank you Kelly, you were a very nice and cooperative guest and treated my flat with much respect. Come back any time !
Bel appartement.

An apartment you would want to return to
This is a quiet apartment in a quiet neighborhood, yet close to all one needs. Dieter, while not there, was quick to respond to any questions and has a thorough list of information and directions. No mysteries.

Ideal
We really enjoyed and appreciated the flat: it is airy and spacious, clean, quiet, well equipped, and very well located.
Our only suggestion is that the instructions for the key safe specify which box. Unfortunately, we struggled to access the keys on arrival.
All other instructions are crystal clear and very helpful.

we stayed here for 8 days in july 2016 and we found dieter to be a great host! his flat is a modern design with a clean, open plan, and it's quiet and close to everything. if you want to avoid the tube you can hail a cab the second you walk out the front door. (my husband and i never waited more that 5 minutes for one to come down the road, and usually one was there in less than a minute). i would say that the flat is best for 2 adults, but no kids. he has nice objects around, as well as a lot of glass and tile which needs to be cleaned before you leave, so the space is really suited for 2 who don't get things too messy. he's done a great job with a small space. everything is white and breezy with a few interesting art pieces. all those mirrors do a great job of opening the space, even in the shower! we've already set up our next reservation! thank you, dieter, for sharing your great place ! About the host
Hosted by Dieter Schindler
I'm a German living in London and Zürich, interested in arts and design. I do travel quite a lot but also love the quiet enjoyment of my cozy home the times I spend in London.
Why they chose this property
When I passed St.Georges garden on my walk to Soho I always looked up to the windows of the Georgian houses facing the park. I envied the people living so central, close to Soho and Covent Garden, but nevertheless in such a green and quiet neighborhood. One day by coincidence I discovered that the flat was sold in an auction, went there and finally got it. The flat was in a a very poor state. I redesigned the lay out, renovated everything from scratch and furnished it with a mix of modern and some few antique objects. Finally brought some of my own sculptures and collected art. The flat is now my true little gem in Central London
What makes this property unique
Its fantastic to be able to just walk home after an evening out in the bars or take the barclays bike to reach Soho, Covent Garden and Westminster in just a 10 minutes bike ride. Coming back from the hustling and bustling city, walking home through the gardens of Bloomsbury and sitting on the window with a cup of tea, enjoying the view into St.George's garden or having dinner with the view on Regent Square is just the right balance you need to come down.
