About this property

Walking distance to city, free wifi, parking, all en suite, fabulous lounge

Relax, play or work here, ideal for families or groups of friends escaping the confines of lockdown. We are fully compliant with the AA and Visit England 'Covid Confidence' schemes and have implemented stringent cleaning procedures between lets.
Usually operating as a 4 star B&B (Devonshire House), we have decided to offer guests the option of taking over the house on a self catering basis. Each bedroom (on on the ground floor) is en suite, with a spacious living room and separate guest dining room, if you prefer not to cook then make use of the facilities at the pub across the road (covid opening times need to be checked) or use one of our many delivery services. Only a 20 minute walk into the historic city of Bath, with complimentary wi fi and parking available locally for a small charge. Country walks are right on the doorstep so you can embrace the outdoors.

The spacious living room comfortably seats 9 on the luxurious, low, leather sofa, tv with dvd if you want to watch your favourites or have a 'movie' night in. The compact kitchen gives you all the facilities that you need, induction hob, microwave, double oven and the essential coffee maker.

The light and airy, dining room is a separate space which seats all your guests where you have the option of individual tables or creating one large table.

All the bedrooms are ensuite with co ordinated furnishings, crisp white sheets and fluffy duvets.

We are on a main road, so easy to find, we have parking locally (for a small charge) and are only a 20 minute downhill walk into Bath. We are on a major bus route into the city and you can get an all day bus ticket for £4.50 each or a group ticket for up to five of you, one way taxi is around £7.00.

We are in a residential area, so you must be aware that noise is to be kept to a minimum between 10 pm and 9 am.

Do remember to use your Bath Reward Card which is on your key fob, as this gives you discounts at lots of tourist attractions and added value offers at lots of restaurants and cafes.

Why they chose this property

Your health and safety is paramount in these unprecedented times, we meet and maintain all the criteria to be 'Covid Confident' with both the AA and Visit England schemes. We want to make your stay as relaxed and enjoyable as possible, we will contact you before your stay to discuss what you want to get out of your visit, make suggestions and ensure you are comfortable with all aspects of your stay at this great property.

Along with all the historic sites in the city itself, Roman Baths and Royal Crescent to name a few. Lovely walks are close by, you can walk through the Sustrans 'Two Tunnels' to Midford, stop at the Hope and Anchor for sustenance, and walk onto Wellow, great walks along the canal or do the National Trust 'Bath Skyline' walk. Bring a bike if you want - let us know and we can put a bike rack (for 4) in the front of the house. There is a great 'local' pub next door who will happily take bookings for meals, the Bear Hotel, a five minute walk away serving more adventurous food. If you are a foodie - look up our michelin starred local restaurant, Menu Gordon Jones - the most amazing tasting menu - but you need to book months in advance. Two cafes are a stroll away, along with two brilliant gift shops, a florist, chemist and charity shop. Tesco Express is 2 minutes down the hill if you need any supplies - or why not organise a food delivery from one of the big supermarkets.

What makes this property unique

Great for city and country walks. If you want to travel further afield - Bath is a great base to get to Glastonbury, Wells, Stonehenge, Wales and the Cotswolds.
