Located at the end of a winding lane surrounded by fields of sunflowers and maize in the summer months, with excellent supermarket, nice restaurants and bakers close by in Montmoreau. there are several restaurants within a 10 minute drive. This large competitively priced rental home has been sympathetically renovated using local craftsmen and is regularly upgraded to offer a great holiday home for families or those couples wanting a romantic getaway or a peaceful place to recharge the batteries. Set within the grounds of the property overlooking great views is a 13 meter alarmed shared swimming pool, outside the main school holidays you are likely to have this to yourself. The neighbours do not often rent their holiday home or have young children.. There is plenty to do in the area the sandy river beach at Aubeterre or La Jamaye lake and nature walk have kayac / canoe and paddle boards for hire, restaurants/ cafes and good parking. The tree top and zip wire experience at Nabinaud caters for all ages with a free adventure area for under 5s. Aubeterre Sur Dronne listed as one of the top 10 beautiful villages in France is a closeby. The atmospheric Monolithic Church off the main street has regular concerts and entertainment in the summer months. There is an excellent friendly English/French riding school for hacks or lessons with horses for all abilities at Bors 10 minutes drive away. A few minutes away is the popular wedding venue Manoir de Longeveau where you can play golf or tennis. Angouleme the capital of the Charente with its historic buildings and array of shops is 30 minutes away.

Lovely house set in beautiful countryside

We spent a fantastic week in this lovely house earlier this Summer. We were a group of five adults (inc two couples) and two little girls and we were pleasantly surprised at the amount of space available. All the bedrooms are a good size and very tastefully decorated. The master bedroom is fabulous. The house is very well equipped for a holiday with small children with everything you need including their own small table and chairs. What really makes this holiday home stand out though is its stunning location. It's right in the middle of the beautiful charente countryside. Fantastic views. Very safe and quiet - the girls rode their bikes and scooted up the lane. At night we sat out drinking red and watching the many shooting stars. So quiet and relaxing. The house has a fab swimming pool, which we had pretty much all to ourselves. The girls had a great time with their inflatables. We spent lots of time here. The house is up a lane from a farm and we met the lovely Jeanne the farmer's wife. The girls loved playing with her dogs and she was very welcoming and gave us lots of recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the area. Was a real pleasure to meet her. The area is fantastic. Aubeterre is one of the prettiest places I've ever been. You must visit the monolithic church, eat on the square and have a swim at the river beach. You can have a round of golf and a game of tennis at manoir de Longeveu and then a nice glass of wine while the kids run around and play in the small park. We also love Le Jemaye lake, great beach, safe swimming, large park and lovely walks. All in all an amazing holiday. Thanks for sharing your lovely holiday home x

Beautiful converted farmhouse

After following the directions that were sent to us we arrived at La Ferme, the location is idealic and the views over the countryside were fabulous,surrounded by fields of sunflowers . .We rented this house for a week and upon opening the door it was so beautiful,spacious and homely decorated to a very high standard and catered for everyone's needs,the owners had thought of everything and all the rooms were immaculate .The kitchen was very well equipped and the dining area backed onto the garden through patio doors so you could sit on the large patio area,the lounge was very spacious and there was a selection of games .The bedrooms were decorated lovely especially the bedroom with the four poster bed which had beautiful white drapes hanging down,also in most bedrooms books were left for anyone to read.The bathrooms were all tiled out .This house can really lend itself to accommodate a very large family or group there is so much space,the garden is lovely and safe for children to run around as no passing traffic ,the pool was perfect and made an ideal place to relax .The pictures of this house do not capture the real beauty you have to walk through the door just wonderful .Thankyou for the opportunity to stay in such a lovely home.Sue Hobden

Stunning property

If you are looking for an amazingly well equipped holiday home which is beautifully decorated, Caroline & williams house La Ferme fits the bill perfectly. Whats more the cost for our 2 weeks holiday in this spacious home was very good. The location is just perfect overlooking panoramic views and close to a local village which has a large supermarket, tennis courts, bakers and even a takeaway pizza caf?. Nearby is the pictuesque village of Aubeterre which is packed with nice restaurants and cafes. We also enjoyed a couple of visits to the river beach perfect for the children and had a fun afternoon hiring canoes. The large pool at La ferme was a great hit, it was lovely and clean and overlooked the wonderful view. We would highly recommend this house , thank you Caroline and William helping us have for a really memorable holiday and for all the suggestions and information you supplied to help us make the most of our first visit to this delightful area. We hope to return before too long.

Stunning location & property - highly rec

Absolutely stunning holiday property. We rented this house for 4 couples, two of which had babies. The location is breathtaking and surrounding countryside idealic. The house itself couldnt be more accomodating! It is beautifully decorated and caters for everyone, from baby equipment to adult drinking games. Couldnt fault the house at all :) one suggestion to make stay truelly perfect would be provide guests with the basics like tea and coffee when they arrive as you truelly are isolated if arriving late :) But other than that spot on. Will definately be returning
