Tranquil Country Lodge Getaway with Hot Tub! Privacy & Serenity Abound...

We are the closest vacation rental of it's size to Cheney and Eastern Washington University.

Located on a ponderosa pine covered ranch South of town, The Harwood Lodge is an exclusive, log and timber framed lodge featuring 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms on 3 floors. It has all the modern conveniences with all of the rustic charm in a very tranquil, private and amazingly beautiful setting away from it all, but just a short drive into town.

A 40' free-standing river rock fireplace serves as the focal point of the main lodge. Privacy and tranquility surround you as you soak in the hot tub, sit around the outdoor fire pit or take in the view off of the spectacular main deck! Located within 10 minutes of 7 lakes and adjacent to Turnbull Nat'l Wildlife Refuge, The Harwood Lodge is THE ideal location for a nature-inspired getaway... (AND: we're just 25 short miles and just 2 turns from downtown Spokane!).

Team Coaches/Advisors: The Lodge is also just 10 short miles from EWU, in a straight line! The "25" sleeping number is the max number of kids that the Lodge will comfortably accommodate in beds, air mattresses, sleeping bags, etc.

GROUP/EVENT PRICING: for larger groups (Business Retreats/Sports Teams/Church Groups/Reunions/Etc.) is as follows: Lodge event rental from Friday at 3PM through Sunday at noon are flat group fees. We also allow for RV's or tents if you wish to bring them (please check with us first). Write or call for details.

Holiday weekends (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, etc.) are always in high demand and usually book out far in advance. They are $1499 base rate and include 3 nights stay. They are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. This includes Hoopfest Weekend as well.

EWU, WSU & GU Graduation weekends are usually also reserved far in advance and based upon availability on a first-come, first-served basis. These weekends are $1499 and include 3 nights stay. Call or write for availability.

Weddings/Events: 10+ guests -Use of the Lodge and entire ranch property from Friday 3PM through Monday at noon, $2995. $399 per day for each additional day on either side.

Staying at the Lodge is MUCH less expensive for groups, sports teams, work crews and families than staying in individual hotel rooms, eating out and driving all over! And, all in a way more cool and relaxed environment that is conducive to team building and free from the distractions of commercial accommodations, restaurants, traffic and noise found in town. It looks and feels like something right out of a Hallmark movie!

So, whether you're just a couple looking for a quiet little getaway for the weekend, a group of friends looking for the ideal yet affordable gathering spot, or a larger group looking for a retreat location, The Harwood Lodge IS your ideal destination spot! An amazing space to just "get away from it all" for a bit.

Enjoyable Get-away

The Country Lodge was very nice, quiet, and tranquil. There was plenty of space both indoor and outdoor for relaxing and spending time together as a family. It was a wonderful place to stay, especially to get away. We had little children, and there were lots of knick-knacks that we had to put up or watch out for, the front door was a little tricky to figure out at first, and the hot tub could have been a little cleaner, but otherwise things were great. Rick and Tammy were easy to communicate and work with and helped with any concerns/questions. They even checked-in part-way through the stay, which was a very personable touch!

Rick Harwood, Owner and Operator of The Harwood Lodge, built this amazing home from just bare land! Rick and family now offer the Lodge up to other families to come and enjoy...

First, clearing the raw land, thinning the trees with his family and drilling the well in 2004, the Lodge served as the family home, as they moved in on New Year's Day 2005 and since has served as headquarters for Harwood Cattle Company until just recently.

As Outfitters & Ranchers, the Lodge served the family well until the nest grew empty! Rick & Tammy have now moved operations to the Big Hole Valley of Montana where they continue to operate The Bunkhouse Hotel in Jackson, MT. and The Harwood House vacation rental in nearby Wisdom, MT. They have most recently added a vacation home in Punta Santiago, Puerto Rico.

Rick graduated from nearby EWU, earning his BA in 1992 and his Master's in 1999 and holds a special place in his heart for Eastern and its extended family. Go Eags! His daughter Beth Graduated from nearby WSU. Go Cougs!

The Harwoods would now like to offer up their beautiful Lodge to you and yours to come out and enjoy for yourselves. We know that you will enjoy the amazing sunsets, the fresh smell of the pines and the nightly howling of coyotes as an amazing escape from the hustle and bustle of life in an absolutely beautiful place.
