Amber Cottage 3 Bed , In Snettisham, North Norfolk dogs welcome
A spacious 3 bedroom Victorian cottage situated within the quaint village of Snettisham. The cottage provides the home from home feel and is extremely well equipped. Snettisham provides everything you may need, there are two pubs, The Queen Victoria and The Rose and Crown, The Rose and crown is particually good for food and has a lovely beer garden. There is also a Bistro The Old Bank, you will need to book in advance, and also a breakfast/lunch/brunch place called The Old Store, they also sell home made bread and great cakes and pastries. We have a CoOp that has great opening hours and a great selection of last minute food and drink including fresh bread. At the other end of the road where Station road turns into Beach road is the Granary, great for breakfasts, lunches, homemade cakes , scones and Quiches etc If you enjoy antiques upstairs at the granary is a treasure trove of goodies, there are also a few shops opposite the Granary. If wildlife and nature are your thing there is a wildlife park in the village where you can bottle feed lamb, have pony rides, and go on their famous Deer safari, of course we have Ken Hill too and a RSPB nature reserve. Snettisham and Hunstanton are the gateway to the North Norfolk coast line, the beaches are all fabulous. One of our favorites is Old Hunstanton for it's beach, handy toilets and Old Hunstaton Beach cafe serving loads of freshly cooked breakfasts and lunches, the is also La Strange barns there which is great for a great variety of art and crafts for sale. The cottage feedback in our visitors book describes the cottage as being bigger than you think and very well equiped. We have added extra refrigerator space too with the addition of a counter top fridge. Full central heating and an open fire in the lounge ensures the cottage is suitable all year round and as well as romantic breaks, we are child and dog friendly for all types of dogs. We provide, to make your stay as relaxed as possible, towels, a high chair, a travel cot and stair gate, all bedding, and basic cleaning essentials such as dishwasher tablets and dish cloths and tea towels. We also provide the use of windbreaks for the beach, chairs and some sand toys. You will find tea bags and sugar, salt and pepper to save you the worry of packing those little bits and bobs.

We’ve stayed at Amber Cottage before, it’s a lovely place and great for trips in the vicinity. All was clean and accessible, nice selection of games and enough space in the evening to sit together.
Lovely comfortable cottage. Well equipped. Close to amenities and beach. Very quiet. Very clean. Would definitely stay again. Only difficulty was getting key safe open....it took me ages. And back bedroom window is broken. B
Lovely period cottage. Tastefully decorated with some lovely features and well equipped. Great spot for village access which had all the shops/pubs etc you need and beach a short drive away. Comfortable beds and sofas.

Thank you for leaving a lovely review.
We have redecorated three rooms so it's lovely that it is appreciated.

Lovely property, good location and facilities. Only downside was that the guest before us broke one of the toilets which meant it was a bit of a trek in the night if you needed the toilet.
A lovely well equipped house. It was cosy and everything that we needed. It was a good base for our trips out with our dog. We really enjoyed it and would stay again.
Lovely house, plenty big enough for us all in a great village location- would definitely stay again

Hi , I'm sorry you found it difficult to access amenities in the village. I was unaware that you don't drive and unable to walk to the shops and eateries in the village.
I would have been happy to offer advice had I known.
Nice cottage but seemed a bit 'unloved'. Dog friendly but be aware neighbours have acess through garden. Co Op and 2 pubs in village. Local bus service. Makes a good base for exploring local area.
Home from home..it was a beautiful little cottage, parking was a bit awkward at times but overall,a pleasant stay. Would come back. Reason for 4 out of 5 cleanliness was there were lots of cobwebs which to be fair that was only down fall.
Nice cottage, comfy beds Worth noting that if you have dogs, the garden is enclosed but not private as cottages either side have access so check gates before you let your dogs out
We had a lovely, albeit short stay at Amber Cottage. Lovely spacious accommodation, very well equipped. Just a short drive to the beach & fabulous walks through Snettisham woods.
We had a great stay overall. The location was excellent - a great selection of pubs within walking distance, and just a short drive to the beach and Sandringham. Parking was easy, which made things even more convenient. The only downside was the cleanliness; there were quite a few cobwebs and spiders around, and some dust on lightshades and other surfaces that could have been better addressed. With a bit more attention to cleaning, it would be perfect.
This property is very appealingly decorated and well equipped throughout. There is an attractive small garden to the rear containing a summerhouse. This contains many useful beach items which the owner kindly allow guests to borrow. We thoroughly recommend this property and would happily return here.
A delightful homely cottage. The host is always accommodating and responds to messages. I love this cottage but maybe just check the crockery etc to ensure that there are good quality, matching glasses etc (a very pedantic point but it does make a difference.).

Thank you Catherine for your feedback.
It is very helpful when customers do.
I will take down some new crockery and glasses when we go this month , it is hard to keep an eye on breakages etc so your feed back is vital.

About the host
Hosted by Sally Watson
I was born in Norwich, and grew up on a farm in a little village near Wymondham. My childhood was idyllic with many Sunday trips to the Norfolk coast. We wanted to keep a connection with Norfolk after sadly losing my parents, we had always had at least a weeks holiday in Norfolk together every year. I have many fond memories as do my children, there are so many things to discover. We stayed in many cottages over the years around the coast line and Snettisham seemed to tick all the boxes with so much on offer in the area for all ages. We hope we have created a lovely period cottage that is homely, comfortable, spacious and well equipped.
Why they chose this property
We love this area of the North Norfolk cost, lots to do, great walks , beaches dog friendly and fabulous pubs and restaurants.
What makes this property unique
I think it's great value for money, we provide wind breaks and other beach equipment for you to use and provide all the basics like tea bags , dish washer tablets, kitchen roll and toilet rolls, washing up liquid snd hand soap for all the sinks. There's also a local CoOp in the village and a factory shop for anything you have forgotten. There also enough places to eat in the village to sort all your needs during your stay.
